It's Your Day!

I made this for using the Stars stamp set and a favorite color combo of In the Navy and Turquoise Sea. Very simple card and the Stars CB folder is just perfect for this stamp set.

I also have two RAK to share. The first one is from Lee and this butterfly is just amazing, layers and layers of prettiness and if you know Lee she is all about glitter and PINK!

Below is a delightful card I received from Olga, isn't this cute!!!! Looking forward to meeting up with Olga and some friends again at a Scrap & Stamp Art Show in July!

Thanks so much ladies...these cards were such a pleasant surprise in my mailbox :o)
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a beautiful day!

Layers of Color ~ Merci

Just a quick CAS card to share today that I made with the stamp set Merci Bouquet from Layers of Color. There is very little stamping on this card (in fact, just what is in the circle... yep, that's it!). The large medallion you see is an art stencil called Vintage Medallion that I laid over my Soft Sky cardstock and sponged with Desert Sand Memento ink. The art stencil really makes it so easy.

Hope you had a great weekend! Our oldest son had his baseball tournament Friday night and they won the championship (woo-hoo!!!)...quite exciting for him and on his birthday which was way cool for a new 11 year old ;oP Now it is on to All Stars which starts later this week. I have been stamping when I can find the time, but nothing I can share quite yet. Hope to post a RAK card or two tomorrow ...:o) I just need to take pics and my camera chip is filled with baseball photos so hard to come by empty chip space!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

It is time for another fabulous Limelight Papercrafts Sketch!!!! The product focus this week is on STRING. This is such a great sketch and for me another opportunity to use some Webster's Pages patterned paper. The papers used here are from the Garden Gala/Seaside Retreat/Nature's Storybook collection (which is only $5.99) and I paired it with some Delicate Pink Trim, Pink Burlap String and Brown Burlap String.

Here is a closer look at the sketch:

Sure hope you can play along with us. One lucky participant will receive 10 yards each of the following strings: natural, black, pink, brown and purple. What a GREAT prize!!!) Be sure to check out the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team...

Layers of Color ~ Merci Bouquet

I recently ordered some stamps from Layers of Color...(special thanks to Nina for pulling me in). They recently released Art Stencils and couldn't stand it any longer, just had to give them a try and also ordered the stamp set Merci Bouquet. The quality of the clear stamps is amazing and the stencils...oh my goodness are these fun! I have two cards to share today... For this first one, I used the Color Challenge from SCS this week which is Soft Suede, Almost Amethyst, Apricot Appeal and White. I sponged over the oval with Apricot Appeal ink and paper pieced the flowers that were stamped on Almost Amethyst, it just makes them pop so nicely.

Now to the Art Stencils....
Isn't this stencil so COOL!!! Oh my goodness... I made a CAS design using the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil. It creates a wow effect without a lot of layering, bumpiness (you know what I mean) and weight... I just laid the stencil over my cardstock and sponged over it to reveal this really cool looking medallion.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to stop back in tomorrow when Limelight Papercrafts is having another Sketch Challenge...it is a great sketch and can't wait to share my card. :o)

Fancy a Chat?

I made this card for two challenges this week: Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge (to use blue on your card) and Play Date Cafe Color Challenge (Black/White and Blue). My inspiration for the Cinema Challenge (featuring the movie Father of the Bride) comes from the furniture in the movie and how all of it had to be moved in order to make room for the wedding guests. Quite a feat! I used some beautiful Webster's Pages patterned paper and stamped the chandelier from Fine Furnishings at an angle to create a pretty scalloped edge. I wrapped some pretty Black Crochet Ribbon and layered the focal image/sentiment.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and enjoying time with your family/loved ones.

Gifts from the Sea

I forgot to share this card that I made a couple of weeks ago with the stamp set Gifts from the Sea and some Webster's Pages patterned paper. I was reminded of it because I just came back from visiting my parents for a couple of days, which included a wonderful day at the beach. Talk about a relaxing day...oh my! I think if I lived close I could go every day.... if nothing else just to sit, watch the waves and read. I took lots of photos and know this stamp set will be perfect for some scrapbook pages like this one...

The weather was just perfect and little Jeb LOVED the sand. Here he was helping his sister build a castle...but did not like the fact it was so close to the water. I did take him out into the ocean a bit...but to say he was not a fan would be a serious understatement. Maybe he will like it more next month :o)

***Just want to mention that Lee has some FABULOUS Gina K. Designs Blog Candy on her blog HERE! Be sure to stop by and leave a comment because someone is going to be some kind of happy when their name is drawn :o))))

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend! We have lots of baseball this weekend so should be fun!!!

Card Patterns 68

I made this for the Card Patterns sketch this week. Just had to use the Stars stamp set again (so many fun things to do with these stars and I haven't even tried the typical patriotic card yet, lol!). This time wanted to use some of this cool Fly a Kite patterned paper from October Afternoon and matched it up with some Innocent Pink cardstock. Added a little bit of distressing by sponging Antique Linen along the edges and D-O-N-E!

Another quick post... It has been a busy weekend and start to the week. Lord willing, in a few hours we will be heading to my parents for a few days and going to the BEACH!! Woo-hoo!!! Looking forward to visiting my folks, smelling the salt in the air and feeling the sand between my toes...Aaaahhhh. Hope you have a great rest of your week! :o)

CPS 171

I made this card rather quickly this weekend using the CPS sketch for this week and the stamp set Stars. I have a hard time with CAS designs and thought with the great sketch I would give it a try. I used Fly a Kite patterned paper from October Afternoon and some Blue Bayou cardstock.
Really quick and easy!!

Thanks for stopping by!

CPS170

I made this for the CPS170 challenge this week. I used October Afternoon Fly a Kite patterned paper and the newest stamp set from Nina Brackett Fine Furnishings and Fine Furnishing Additions. I have a ton of ideas for this set...but *life* is getting in the way :o)

Sorry I haven't been blog hopping lately. Things have been so busy and time to get to a wi-fi spot is rare with the kids out of school, but the good news is.... DSL is finally coming to my neck of the woods. They are still laying the lines and crossing fingers/toes to be hooked up by the end of the month or early next month... happy day, HAPPY DAY!!!

Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge #49

It is time for another fabulous Limelight Papercrafts Sketch!!!! I am tagging along again this month as Guest Designer and have to say.... don't you love these sketches :o) Mandy has so many wonderful goodies in her store, is just so sweet to deal with...AND rumor has it some BIG sales are coming :o) Got to LOVE THAT!!! The product focus for the sketch is on butterflies and I immediately thought of Webster's Pages Seaside Retreat, Garden Gala and Nature's Storybook (which has some beautiful butterflies on quite a few sheets). Two of the butterflies on this card are printed on the paper. I stamped a third butterfly from A Beautiful Life, colored it with Copics and popped it up on a glue dot. The sentiment is from Hope is Faith. I also used some Crochet Lace and Kaisercraft Pearls on the scalloped edge.

Here is the sketch this week and sure hope you can play along:

One lucky participant will receive a grab bag containing 5 yards of ribbon (1 yard each of 5 of styles...what a GREAT prize!!!) Be sure to check out the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team...

Your next stop is...Lisa A.

Botanicals Card Kit Blog Hop

Tonight we are featuring the new Botanicals stamp set with a special technique themed blog hop event! Botanicals is a new favorite stamp set of mine...it has just a beautiful font for the sentiments, a script background, florals...Oh my! and an added bonus is that it comes with a FREE Card Kit! I chose to do Emboss Resist with my cards and made three quick cards. Don't you just love the new Grass Green? ...reminds me of my favorite Wild Wasabi, just better because it is Luxury Cardstock. I stamped a floral image on a piece of Ivory cardstock, embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, stamped the script background, sponged and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Labels 4 Nestie. I did all of the focal images at one time so all I need to do was assemble the cards. Here are two more:

Please visit these designer's blogs for their project using a variety of techniques all made with the Botanicals stamp set:
  • Carla Suto

  • Linda Payne

  • Then, for even more samples with the Botanicals stamp set, visit the StampTV gallery here: botanicals. To view more information about the free card kit that is included with the purchase of the Botanicals stamp set, click here.

    Limelight Papercrafts DT Challenge: Weddings!

Welcome to another Limelight Papercrafts Blog Hop! Mandy challenged us to create either a keepsake, gift, favor, and a card with a wedding theme. At first I was completely stumped trying to think of something that would last... would be a keepsake...and finally thought of photos! I made a card and altered a CD holder that could be used for either wedding photos or DVD of the couple's wedding.

For my projects, I used some more beautiful Webster's Pages patterned paper (from Garden Gala/Seaside Retreat/Nature's Storybook) and some Crochet Natural Trim. The flowers were made from a Tim Holtz Tatterered Florals Sizzix die and stamped with the worded background from Vintage Backgrounds. The wedding sentiment is from A Beautiful Life.

Here is a look at the CD holder, using the same patterned paper...

Be sure and stop by the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team for even more wedding themed inspiration:

I hope this gives you an idea for a wedding gift to include for a couple you know who might be getting married soon. Thanks so much for stopping by...

    God's Promises

I am adoring the new Stars stamp set from Gina K Designs. This sentiment just jumped out at me as a Biblical truth I need to be reminded of daily. I used the new Grass Green cardstock, as well as the Fly a Kite patterned paper (October Afternoon). The sketch for this card came from the Sketch Challenge over on StampTV, it is Vicki's last sketch as hostess and she has done a phenomenal job the past three months! Sure hope you can play along...one participant will be chosen at random to win a new GKD stamp set!
    Have a wonderful day!
    Blessings,
