Limelight Sketch #22

Mandy over at Limelight Papercrafts has a great sketch challenge this week that is all about patterned paper!  Which looking at my bin I have quite a bit ...don't we all, LOL!.   I had extra time to stamp a little put one together real quick.  The neat thing about this card is very little stamping, it is really all about paper and is a great way to use little strips you have sitting around.  The sentiment "New Baby" is from Hip Hop Accessories and I thought went very well with the DCWV Nana's Nursery for Boy paper.

Also wanted to mention that Mandy will be having a Limelight Anniversary Celebration this coming Monday, June 1st.  I have heard they will be having big store-wide sales, sketches, games, and giveaways...

Have a great weekend!

Sketch Challenge: Guiding Light

I made this for the sketch challenge over on StampTV for this week.  I loved the circle panel to frame the main image and knew I wanted to use Guiding Light.   I am quite smitten with this stamp set.  The sentiment is from a phrase included in the set and I just omitted most of it and simply wanted "guiding light" which I punched with the Word Window punch from SU.   The card base is Chocolate Kiss (so nice and sturdy)...I am just tickled with how this turned out :o)

Gina K. had another release last night and some of the new stuff just jumped into my cart (good thing my dear hubby gave me some stamping money for our anniversary last week!) One set (in particular) will be perfect to make a lovey~dovey card for him!!!
I hope you have a wonderful day and a great weekend!

Spot On!

I recently bought the DCWV Animal Crackers paper pack which I thought would be perfect with the various animal stamp sets I have collected over the past year. It has so many fun patterns and colors it will be a great "go to" pad. For this card, I used Gina K's Chocolate Kiss and SU Tangerine Tango cardstock. They really go together so nicely! The design itself is from a sketch challenge over on StampTV which is a fantastic sketch that I will definitely use again and again.
Sorry this picture turned out so fuzzy...if I get a chance I will retake it later today. It has been rainy and just yucky the last few days...I am ready for the sun!

Yesterday I did have the neatest thing happen...I won some blog candy on Gina K's blog which was the new set coming out Thursday by Melanie: Sporty Accessories, as well as the three new Vivid ink pads (that match her cardstock) and a sampler of the two newest colors of her Luxury cardstock: In the Navy and Rocket Red! I am so excited...

I hope you have a great day!

Birthday Page

Today I have another scrapbook page to share from a sketch challenge.   I just love how I am really starting to make a dent into the pictures I have been developing with the intent of scrapbooking.   Now my hubby doesn't fuss when I ask for so many extras to develop because I *am* using them :o))) For the past 15 years of marriage, we have very carefully placed our family pictures in chronological order in a series of 20 (yes, I said 20) photo albums.  And there is NO WAY I am going back and redoing all of those albums.... (it is just not going to happen) so I am starting with the last year and working from there for a separate way of keeping pictures which the kids will get when they grow up (IF I can part with them...and if not, they will get them when I...well, you know!) :o))

I am working on three separate books for the three kids and have one today of the baby (is he still a "baby" at one? I am not sure about that..) I just loved watching him eat cake. He was the only one of our three who enjoyed getting messy and just ate and ate and ate his birthday cake. He turned one back in March and has just about no hair (you can see it faintly in the natural light, so it is there, LOL!)....I am hoping by age 2 he will grow some but won't hold my breath.

Off for a busy day and back to town again :o)) Have a great day!

Friends Make Life

The color challenge for last week on StampTV was to use Elegant Eggplant, Baja Blue and Kraft.  Just lovely colors and I thought I would figure out a design using the Top Note Die from SU.  I covered the place where I halved the die by adding some grosgrain and was tickled when I found this kraft colored button in the bottom of my button jar.  The sprigs were punched using a Martha Stewart punch.

My daughter's recital went very well.  She performed her piece beautifully and we are so proud of her. The Lord has definitely blessed her with a talent and love for music. Honestly, there is nothing better than listening to her practice...  I will have pictures to scrapbook soon, just need to get them developed. :o)

Our 15th Anniversary was on the same day and hubby is so sweet to me...he even padded my stamping stash....He knows me so well!  Which is good because Gina K. is having another release this week....oh-no! :o))))
I hope you have a great Memorial Day!

Home Is...

I recently got the set Wreath of Wishes in a trade and used it for a sketch challenge.  I paired it with a background I had stamped quite some time ago and found in my scrap bin.  Not too bad when it works out for another card, LOL! :o)  The background was stamped with two SU background stamps: Floral and French Script.

Today is a busy day for me, not only is it our 15th wedding anniversary (how did 15 years go by so fast?....Love you honey) ...but this evening our daughter has a piano recital that she has been preparing for since February.  I made this card for her to celebrate her big day. :o)  She has studied her piece so diligently and I just love listening to her practice.   It is truly a beautiful sound....
Have a great day!

Friendship

I looked at my scrap pile recently and realized I REALLY need to start hacking into it before I even consider cutting another piece!  So.... I am pleased to say all of the dp on this card is completely made from scraps! :o)  I love this pink stripe designer paper from Basic Grey, I have altered notebooks and frames using this dp so have quite a little pile of scraps pieces to work with.  Now I need to figure out a better way to organize my scrap dp...any suggestions?  Right now it is just in a 9x12 bin I sort through...
Have a great day!

So Very Busy

I made this for the sketch challenge on StampTV. I cheated a smidge and added two pictures instead of one..but these two go together so well and I just couldn't split them up. The fun designer paper I picked up at Hobby Lobby and knew it would go perfectly with the car stamp from the Wee Tees set. I used the Scor-Bug (that goes with the Scor-Pal) and created a bumpy road for the cars to ride along. That is one cool little tool, and I look forward to playing with it some more!
This was my little one when he was just starting to get mobile back...now I can't keep him in one place for very long and I am chasing him all around! He is fascinated with water and splashes wherever he can find any (which is NOT good if you know what I mean!) :o)

On that note, I hope you have a great day!

CAS: Lighthouse

I created this card for the color challenge on StampTV which was to use black, red and white. The new set Guiding Light from Gina K. arrived so I figured why not get the lighthouse stamp all inky :o) I did consider adding a lot of layers and such, but went clean and simple instead. I must say it was a bit liberating to not have to fill all of the space... just allow the image and verse to speak for itself. :o) I colored the image with Copics and the card base is Pure Luxury Heavy Weight White. I ended up paper piecing the houses next to the lighthouse because the red Copic got a little out of bounds around the windows so I had to cover up my little mistake :o)

Have a great day!

Another Wee Tee and SS Reveal

I have a couple of things to share today...first is a card I made using the stamp set Wee Tees. I just can't get enough of this cute onesie... I am working on my stash of baby cards to have on hand whenever I find out what some friends are expecting, I just need to get some baby girl cards made (what a great excuse to buy some some baby girl paper next time I go to the craft store!)

I also wanted to share some photos of projects I received from a Secret Sister Swap... Angie had me and I was so amazed by her creative cards and little treats! I had said in a post on SCS how much I loved Pop Rocks (quite childlike I know...but I think that the popping sound in my mouth is so fun!) and she included two packs in a fun little treat holder.

She is just awesome and I so appreciate her creativity and talent...I am going to CASE these designs that is for sure! Thanks Angie, you're so sweet!

Have a great day!!

Brayered Card

I created this for a Secret Sister swap I participated in with my blog group and thought I would share it today.  I tried to CASE a card Michelle had made and shown on her blog (but sadly don't have the link for the original)  I kept the basic layout the same just changed the placement of the brads...it worked for me to have them above and below the image.  This was so simple to put together!   I think I need to try something like this for my Christmas cards :o)  Just change up the spectrum ink colors and I would be good to go.

**** Creative Vision is having a great sale the next few days you might want to take a look at...
I believe everything is discounted and there is even a coupon code for $10 off your order of $45, that is a good deal!  There is a hunting/a fishing set I need for my son's scrapbook :o)
Have a great day!

Shades of Blue

The past few days have been a bit busy so stamping has been on the back-burner.  I did manage to make this card on Sunday afternoon during the little one's nap :o)   I pulled out some more retired SU colors: Bayou Blue and Soft Sky.  I love the way these two shades of blue compliment each other.  The stamps are from the Elegant Flowers set which is now sold separately since the Stamp Kit sold out.  So if you have been wanting one or the other (Bold Flowers) without buying the whole kit now is the time (especially with the coupon from the Stamping Lifestyle magazine, which you can find details for it HERE. I know my order shipped on Monday so looking forward to some more Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss cardstock and other fun goodies!

Also, the first batch of stamps for me to design from Creative Vision are on their way!!! I am excited to get use them... I am going to have some fun mail days, I love happy mail!  Hope you have a great Wednesday!! :o)

Sketch Challenge

I made this card for the sketch challenge over at StampTV. Just loved the sketch and wanted to use a stamp from the set Elegant Flowers that I haven't used yet...(please don't ask me what the flower is, I am so clueless! I have a rather black thumb when it comes to plants and nothing from the plant kingdom lives long with me taking care of it...sigh!). The Basic Grey dp was where I got the inspiration for the color scheme and I colored the flower with Copics and SU markers. I had to add a little extra with the corner punches on the right but think it ties the card together.

It is going to be a busy day here. My parents are coming to visit the grandchildren and my oldest son has a baseball game so it will be a full afternoon! Have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day and some News...

Today I have two things to share (and no..there is no baby news, we are done there, LOL!)... First is a card I made for my mom for Mother's Day! She used to stamp and I benefited from her retiring twice :o) I always tell her anytime she wants to try it again, I will help her pick EVERYTHING out (wink!).

I know my mom likes this color combination and she loves birds (she even wants an iPhone so she can look up a bird she sees when she walks) so the CB folder was a must! I just love the Elegant Flowers stamp set from Gina K. Designs. I think it is so easy to use for a wow effect and I obviously can't have enough flower stamps :o) I used my little stampin' spots and colored the edges of the flowers with my Pumpkin Pie marker to create some depth.

I also have some exciting stamping news to share... I am on the Creative Vision Design Team. It is quite exciting and look forward to creating for this company starting in June. They have a lot of unique clear stamp sets that will be great for both cardmaking and scrapbooking. Be sure to check out their website if you get a chance, you will like what you see. There is a set called Bike Week (think... hogs) that is just too cute! :o)

Birthday Wishes

I made this card for an upcoming birthday of a dear friend. I stamped the floral image twice between reinking to create a lighter and a darker image. I used Chocolate Chip and More Mustard for the flowers and like the subdued colors.

I cannot believe how fast this week has flown. I am looking forward to the weekend and less being on the schedule...which means more stamping time for me. First, I need to tackle cleaning the house so it will be completely guilt free stamping. :o)
Have a great weekend!

Bean Thinking...

I am quite addicted to coffee...have to have my two cups every morning and then sometimes a cup or two at night (decaf of course...) And if I am anywhere near town swinging by Starbucks is just a necessity! I figure I earned it :o) What is your favorite? I love a Vanilla Latte and must admit I have my husband hooked on them too! :o)
This was a fun card to put together...I used the sentiment as a background stamp as well as in the focal image.
I am off to get busy on my day and hope to get a little stamping in later....
Have a great stampin' day!

My Friend

I created this card using a favorite color combination for spring: Regal Rose and Certainly Celery.  I just love about any shade of pink and this one particularly is a favorite!  I also used the Floral Frenzy StampTV stamp set Bold Flowers for this card. The crackle stamp in this set is so nice and is great for creating a background or *kissing* (a technique you can see more info on here -->Kissing Technique)

Well, it is going to be a busy day here so best get to it! Have a great Wednesday!

New Brother

I was one who always said I would never scrapbook...well, never say never.  I have so enjoyed scrapbooking lately.  I find I really think on the layout, color scheme and stamp set to create a page that brings back a ton of memories.  The pictures on this page are from a year ago and I am amazed with how the time has flown.  It seems like just yesterday we brought our youngest home.  His big sister just couldn't keep her hands off of him...and now of course, she is trying to keep his hands off of her stuff.  ;o)
I used a retired Simply Scrappin kit to create this page, as well as the stamp set Wee Tees.  It is so fun to incorporate stamping into my pages...  Now I just wish I would have started when my other two were babies...  I am doing books for them as well, just starting with present day and hopefully will work my way back.
Have a great day!

Never Forget B'day

This was a fun little card to put together and I based it all on the fun designer paper from DCWV: Nana's Nursery Boy.
I have the spiral punch from SU but rarely use it and when I saw a cute card Carolyn King made using it I thought I would dust it off and try it myself.

Thanks for the inquiry on my little one.. I took him to the doctor before the weekend set in...he is on medicine and seems much better already.  In fact, this weekend I came upon this scene in the kitchen....

Needless to say, I burst out laughing...quite funny and even let him play in the flour for a little bit. At that point....why not right? :o) Now I am after my hubby to put locks on that cabinet! :o)))) It probably won't be as funny next time.
Have a great day!

Little Man Birthday

I made another Wee Tees card....without using the onesie!  I colored the images with Copics and layered them into the tag punches.   I am tickled with how it turned out and plan on giving this card to my nephew in September.  I love adding to my stash in advance....then I am not scrambling to make a card at the last minute :o)

It is going to be a busy weekend.  My middle son has his first Little League game of the season tonight  and my youngest is running a fever again...Aahhh!  Why do my children always seem to get sick right before the weekend? :o)  The weekend will be interesting...
Have a great one!

****Blog Candy Alert****
