Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger

I just had to play along with the Tuesday Trigger: Farm Fresh this week which is a fabulous combination of Orange, Aqua and White.
My inspiration came from the colors and used some Layers of Color stamps: Cottage Rose cling art stamp and The Love Chapter (for the script background).  The sentiment is from Sent with Love and love that Layers of Color now has sentiment stamps.  I also made this for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge whose challenge focus this week is paper piecing.  I paper pieced the rose after I colored it with Copics and added some blue stickles to the center.  I also spritzed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Caribbean Blue (which is such a fun product!).

Here is the inside of my card:

PDCC#74

I made this for the Play Date Cafe Challenge (PDCC#74) which had the color combo of blue/purple.  I used some images from the Stamp TV Kit: Springtime Silhouettes and stamped it with black ink, die-cut it with Labels Twenty, and used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Popsicle and Caribbean Blue. I picked them up at my favorite LSS in Greensboro, Betty's Scrapbooking Room and unexpectedly met up with Carla!  It was quite a fun coincidence and a joy to chat with her for a bit :o)

So funny because I have tried to meet up with her (and some friends) before, but had a conflict in my schedule and seems it is easier to just meet up unexpectedly, lol!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Thank You Blog Hop

The Gina K Designs team would like to welcome you to this special Spellbinders Thank You Blog Hop.  Recently Spellbinders generously gifted each member of our Design Team with the amazing new Grand Calibur. What an exciting gift for sure and we are enjoying this fabulous machine! We have made some special cards and projects to showcase the new Grand Calibur.   Thank you so very much Spellbinders!!!

If you came from Janice's blog you are in just the right spot and if not...be sure to start at the very beginning HERE.  For my card I used the floral image from the STV Kit: Springtime Silhouettes.  I used Gelatos on the image and sponged the die-cut oval with Memento Cantaloupe ink.  I used both the Classic Ovals Large and Classic Ovals Scalloped Large for my design.  They were some of the first dies I bought and must say still my favorite.

The Grand Calibur makes die-cutting and embossing a breeze and LOVE that you can die-cut nearly an entire 8 1/2 x 11-inch sheet of cardstock at one time!  Completely changes the die-cutting experience and makes it oh so much better :o)

Spellbinders is an amazing company that has changed the way I paper craft and so much for the better.  It is a rare thing when I create a card without a Spellbinders die of some sort and I can't thank them enough for this amazing machine!!  THANK YOU!

Next stop on the hop...the uber talented LEE...

CSS Blog Hop: Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another CSS Blog Hop!  If you came from Giovana's blog you are in the right place, and if not be sure to start at the beginning HERE.  This month we are having a sketch themed hop that Melissa Cash designed for us.

For my card, I used a new Gina K. Designs stamp set Bring the Bling, illustrated by Melanie.
I wanted to create flowers with the pretty flourish as the stem and used the nice scallop for the border.  The sentiment is from the STV Kit Springtime Silhouettes.  Not only did I used the CSS sketch, but I paired it with the Color Challenge this week over on Stamp TV:

Here is the FABulous sketch and hope you can play along:

Next stop on the hop is Joy... !  Can't wait to see what design she has to share for the hop.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (March 29th), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs, that person will get a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!
  Blessings,

Layers of Color

I have a special card to share today using Layers of Color.  Today I am hosting Faith Art Friday over on the Layers of Color Blog and wanted to share my project here as well. For this project, I used the Warbler and Rose Blossom Frame cling art stamp, as well as the Belle Brocade art stencil.     Layers of Color is a Spellbinders Preferred Product Partner and we are thrilled with the opportunity to work so closely with this amazing company!  In fact, the Rose Blossom Frame coordinates with the Spellbinders Labels Sixteen.   Here is a close up of the Warbler, layered within the rose frame...

For this card I also used the clear art stamp set Sent with Love....this is one of my favorite sentiments as it fits absolutely any occasion.

The sketch for this card is from Card Patterns 107.    The patterned paper on this design is from Prima Madeline.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

STV Kit and Gelatos

I have another card to share that I made with the Springtime Silhouettes Stamp TV Kit. This time I used some of the new Gelatos from Faber-Castell.  You can find some wonderful tutorials on their blog: Design Memory Craft.

For the background, I used the damask image in the kit and heat embossed a piece of White cardstock with Clear Embossing powder.  After it had cooled, I used this cool Gelato (think chapstick, but don't use it as chapstick, lol!) and rubbed it over the cardstock and the embossing.  Then I simply used my finger to blend it in and buffed with a tissue.  Uber cool!!!   The butterfly was stamped/embossed on Red Hot cardstock with Black Embossing Powder, adhered to the card, and had to add a bit of pearl bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Welcome to the last day of the Gina K. Designs Release Inspiration Hop!  We are excited to share designs made with the newest Stamp TV Kit: Springtime Silhouettes!

I made this with one of the beautiful floral images in the kit and colored (the rubber stamp) with Faber-Castell Big Brush markers before stamping onto cardstock.  My card base is Red Hot, a layer of White, as well as some of the patterned paper from the STV Kit. The Springtime Silhouettes Stamp TV Kit is such a great value...it is packed with GKD Luxury Cardstock, a 6x6 patterned paper pack, an assortment of ribbons and brads, and the Springtime Silhouettes stamp set.

Day 3: Gina K March Release Inspiration Hop

Welcome to another day of the Gina K. Designs Release Inspiration Hop!  We are excited to share with you three more stamp sets that were released last Thursday night.  First up is Perfect Pennants, illustrated by Tami Mayberry:

I embossed the white panel with Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder and popped the banner up on dimensionals.  Pennants are huge right now and looking forward to getting the Spellbinders dies that match with this set...

The next stamp set is Cute As a Bug, illustrated by Rupa Shevde:

Love Rupa's line art style and these bugs are just adorable!! I paired mine with some Basic Grey patterned paper and Chocolate Brown cardstock.  I added a bit of Flower Soft for some dimension.

The last card I have to share today uses the newest label set from Nina Brackett: Lovely Labels 3:

LOVE Nina's label stamp sets and how they coordinate with the Spellbinders dies.   I used Ocean Mist for my card base and layered it with Ivory and some patterned paper.

For even more samples of these new sets, please visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below and leave a comment. The more blogs you comment on, the more chances you have of winning!  Tomorrow Gina will announce on her blog the randomly chosen winners who will each win one of these fabulous new stamp sets!

Day 2: Gina K March Release Inspiration Hop

Welcome to another day of the Gina K. Designs Release Inspiration Hop!  We are excited to share with you three more stamp sets that were released last Thursday night.  First up is a card I made combining two stamp sets: Make a Splash (illustrated by Asela Hopkins) and Bring the Bling (illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger).    In this design, I had to use the scallop stamp, from Bring the Bling to make waves....

Isn't that just an adorable whale image?? Love those little fish too!  I knew I wanted this whale going places so created this really easy slider card. I added the clouds and sun from the stamp set Oh Boy! as well.  Love the way you can combine various GKD stamp sets :o)

Next up is Warm with Love (illustrated by Theresa Momber):

Theresa creates the most realistic images and LOVE her flowers!  I stamped the image with Memento and colored it with Copics.  Looking forward to seeing Theresa's tips for coloring...

The first I would like to share is our 2 Year Anniversary Stamp TV stamp set: Celebrate in Style, which is FREE with any $35.00 purchase...

I paper pieced the dress twice, popping up the second one using pop dots.  The patterned paper used on this design are from the Springtime Silhouettes Stamp TV Kit.  I also used the Spellbinders dies: Labels Nine and Fancy Tags and sponged both gently with Spun Sugar Distress ink.  **This is also for the Play Date Cafe challenge (PDCC73) and love these colors together!!

Next up is Stenciled Silhouettes (which is our One Free with 3 stamp set):

The card base is Kraft and I embossed a panel of Passionate Pink before layering it on White cardstock.  I stamped the image using markers and added a little clip with ribbon.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge has a great color combination challenge of orange, navy and pink. The color challenge was combined with the MFTWCS10 sketch using the stamp set Who's that Musical Girl?  I kept the focal image to a sentiment from the set and added the Die-namics Musical Notes which are a favorite.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Our theme today is Spring and for my card I used Ivory and Sweet Mango cardstock and the GKD stamp sets Smile, Spring Mix, and Framed Greetings.  I used Fleur de Lis Doily Accents Spellbinders dies and  when I saw these at CHA...I just knew I needed them as soon as possible!

Spellbinders is an amazing company that has changed the way I paper craft and so much for the better.  It is a rare thing when I create a card without a Spellbinders die of some sort and I can't thank them enough for this amazing machine!!  THANK YOU!

CPS208 ~ Java Time

Any time is "java time" in my book...in fact, thinking of going and brewing a pot right now!  This is for CPS208 which is such a great sketch!!  I am certain I will be using this sketch again and again.  I used Coffee4Two from The {Stamps} of Life which has this fab mug!  The patterned paper is Mabel-Stella Rose from My Mind's Eye.  Love the new paper designs from MME!

I am also entering this into the Tuesday Trigger over on Moxie Fab.  Love the green/orange in this inspirational piece and incorporated those colors using my patterned paper.  Here is the photo and hope you can play along:
Hoping to get some more stamping done later today, but have two kids sick with colds/ear infections/sinusitis.  I took them in to see the doctor today and both got put on antibiotics so hopefully with that and a big pot of chicken noodle soup they will get on the mend soon!   That is enough whining...onward and upward, right! :o)
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

SSCC#79

I am looking forward to spring and the challenge over on Stampin' Sisters in Christ seemed right up my alley!  Little League baseball practice started last night and nothing quite says spring around our household like baseball!!  ♥  This week the SSCC challenge was to use a stamped flower image on your card/project.  They shared Isaiah 40:8 which states... "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever."  What a blessed promise that is!

For this card I used Faithful Florals illustrated by Tami Mayberry.
I used my Grand Calibur for die-cutting the Lacey Squares die and matched it up with Classic Squares Small.  I used Memento Markers on the floral image.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Music to My Ears

The Play Date Cafe Challenge for this week was to use Black/White and a splash of color.  My splash is PINK!  I used Who's That Musical Girl from My Favorite Things and paired it with some Echo Park Be Mine patterned paper...the musical score jumped out as perfect for the color challenge and stamp set.  I did a little paper piecing for her dress and used the Die-Namics Jumbo Scallop die on the polka dot patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

CP105

Card Patterns has a fabulous sketch this week and I immediately thought of using Warbler from Layers of Color for the focal image. The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye called Stella Rose Hazel.. love that MME now comes in 6x6 pads!  It is obviously on a much smaller scale and perfect for card making.  The flower on this card is from Tim Holtz idea-ology Trimmings and so awesome that I can color the individual flowers myself using Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Spun Sugar.   Amazing new product...I actually saw Tim at CHA and was wowed by this product.   Funny little tidbit...my dear friend Janice said everyone was at the table with their mouth hanging open mesmerized...yep me included!!  I only bought a few colors of stain...not the whole set so am quite pleased with my self-restraint!!  Here is a pic of Tim with Janice, Deb and I....

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Red Dress

Just a quick card to share that I made with Sew Pretty from Gina K Designs.  This was for a VSN challenge and I paper pieced the dress with some For the Record patterned paper from Echo Park.  I also used the Spellbinders die Labels Fourteen and a *new* die set called Fleur de Lis Doily Accents.  LOVE this die and it is a dream to cut and emboss with the Grand Calibur. All of those details just pop right out...a little inside info of a pet peeve of mine...I get annoyed when I have to use my paper piecing tool to get the little die cut pieces out and no longer have an issue.  Now if only I could fix my other annoyances as easily, lol!

This is also for the Paper Crafts Stamp It! Techniques Week Paper Piecing Challenge.    Just LOVE paper piecing!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
