CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to another CSS Alumni Blog Hop!  If you came from Geri's blog you are in the right place and if you didn't place go to Stamp TV so you don't miss a stop...as there is a fabulous prize for one randomly drawn commenter.

Our theme is this beautiful inspiration piece:

Isn't it beautiful!!  The inspiration for my design came from the pitcher, basket and the fabulous looking texture of the rattan.  Here is my card:

I used Kraft, In the Navy and Ivory card stock and GKD stamp sets: Block Greetings and Faithful Florals.  I  stamped the block greeting on Ivory cardstock and gently sponged with Memento Toffee Crunch ink distressing the edges just a bit before layering on a Fleur de Lis Square die.  I used some navy gingham GKD patterned paper from Casual Friday and layered it with some corrugated card stock which I inked with Memento Paris Dusk.

Now please hop on over and see what the uber creative Joy has to share with you today!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Karing for Karen Blog Hop

Welcome to a special blog hop that we are calling, Karing for Karen!!  If you have been around the stamping community for any length of time at all, you might have run into Karen Knegten.  She is always participating in challenges and offering us wonderful inspiration with her amazing talent!   For those who may not have heard, about a month ago Karen had to have surgery for two brain aneurysms.  She is still in the hospital and we are having this blog to inspire more of you out there to send in some cards to Karen AND to her family that is caring for her too! So hope you feel inspired with our little hop for you today.

Here is my card for the Knegten family...

I used various Gina K. Designs stamp sets: Nature's Greeting, Vintage Borders (for the musical score), and a sentiment from Faithful Florals.  The patterned paper is from Teresa Collins Everyday Moments and a little bling from Want2Scrap.

Here is a close up of the center panel where you can better see the musical score:

Below you will find all of the links to all of the girls participating...these are from the CSS Alumni group and the Design Team from Gina K Designs. Enjoy and be inspired to send a card or two in! Here is the address for sending the cards to:

SSCC#79

I am looking forward to spring and the challenge over on Stampin' Sisters in Christ seemed right up my alley!  Little League baseball practice started last night and nothing quite says spring around our household like baseball!!  ♥  This week the SSCC challenge was to use a stamped flower image on your card/project.  They shared Isaiah 40:8 which states... "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever."  What a blessed promise that is!

For this card I used Faithful Florals illustrated by Tami Mayberry.
I used my Grand Calibur for die-cutting the Lacey Squares die and matched it up with Classic Squares Small.  I used Memento Markers on the floral image.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

CP81 ~ Faithful Florals

I made this for the Card Patterns 81 challenge.  I have been wanting to try Flower Soft on these flowers from Faithful Florals and this sketch worked for what I had in mind.  Obviously I was also in a polka dot mood so used the Seeing Spots CB folder and the dot background from Vintage Backgrounds.  I added a bit of ric rac and the felt flowers are just from my stash...  Do you see the new Labels 16...oh my, I just love this shape and know you will be seeing it a LOT!  I was recently at my LSS and managed to pick up Labels 15 and 16 and truly they are some of my favorite.  Such a fun shape!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful start to your week!
Blessings,
