Thank You for Loving Me

Today I wanted to share a card I made using the new SNSS stamp set Precious Poppies. I stamped/embossed the flower image using Versamark and clear embossing powder and then colored them with Gelatos from Faber Castell Design Memory Craft (those cool chapstick tubes of coloring medium). Super fun technique!!

I was inspired by the Tuesday Trigger: Magical Magnolias challenge. Isn't this piece beautiful? The flowers and pop of yellow in these magnolias just called me to come and play along. Hope you can join in on the fun!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Floral with Gelatos

Obviously I have a new favorite floral image...  This time I colored it with Gelatos by smearing a little color onto a craft mat, spritzing with water, and using a water color brush to pick up and spread color.   Super easy and this kinda coloring I can handle, lol!  Then I die cut the image using a Spellbinders die and lightly sponged with Toffee Crunch (a new color from Memento).  The background is a Dreamweaver stencil (Damask) which was sponged heavily with Toffee Crunch ink as well and then sprayed/spritzed with Fireworks Rich Cocoa Craft ink spray.

I am entering this into the Spatter Technique Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  LOVE using my spray ink!

Gelatos and a STV Challenge

There is a fun challenge over on Stamp TV of CASE'ing one of the Gina K. Designs DT members and this week we are CASE'ing Carolina Buchting.  I chose this card of hers to CASE: Party Like Rock Star.

For my card I used the same stamp set Live Life Loud, different sentiment (from the set), added extra layers, distressing, and created a fun background using Gelatos.   Faber-Castell makes these neat little chapstick look coloring tools called Gelatos.   A little background..."Gelatos are creamy sticks infused with brilliant color.  The color glides easily onto papers and can be dissolved with water to create watercolor effects or left to dry for vibrant burst of color.  They are acid free and odorless." ~Design Memory Craft booklet
Today I want to show how you can use them to create a fun background.

I used the orange, yellow and red Gelatos and coloring them directly onto my Tim Holtz mat as you see here...

Then I spritzed the Gelatos on the mat lightly with water...

Then simple enough, I turned my cardstock over and rubbed it directly onto the cardstock in a cirular motion.

Due to the moisture, the cardstock curled a bit, however, once you dry it with a heat gun it goes back flat again.

It creates the coolest look :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Thank You Blog Hop

The Gina K Designs team would like to welcome you to this special Spellbinders Thank You Blog Hop.  Recently Spellbinders generously gifted each member of our Design Team with the amazing new Grand Calibur. What an exciting gift for sure and we are enjoying this fabulous machine! We have made some special cards and projects to showcase the new Grand Calibur.   Thank you so very much Spellbinders!!!

If you came from Janice's blog you are in just the right spot and if not...be sure to start at the very beginning HERE.  For my card I used the floral image from the STV Kit: Springtime Silhouettes.  I used Gelatos on the image and sponged the die-cut oval with Memento Cantaloupe ink.  I used both the Classic Ovals Large and Classic Ovals Scalloped Large for my design.  They were some of the first dies I bought and must say still my favorite.

The Grand Calibur makes die-cutting and embossing a breeze and LOVE that you can die-cut nearly an entire 8 1/2 x 11-inch sheet of cardstock at one time!  Completely changes the die-cutting experience and makes it oh so much better :o)

Spellbinders is an amazing company that has changed the way I paper craft and so much for the better.  It is a rare thing when I create a card without a Spellbinders die of some sort and I can't thank them enough for this amazing machine!!  THANK YOU!

Next stop on the hop...the uber talented LEE...

STV Kit and Gelatos

I have another card to share that I made with the Springtime Silhouettes Stamp TV Kit. This time I used some of the new Gelatos from Faber-Castell.  You can find some wonderful tutorials on their blog: Design Memory Craft.

For the background, I used the damask image in the kit and heat embossed a piece of White cardstock with Clear Embossing powder.  After it had cooled, I used this cool Gelato (think chapstick, but don't use it as chapstick, lol!) and rubbed it over the cardstock and the embossing.  Then I simply used my finger to blend it in and buffed with a tissue.  Uber cool!!!   The butterfly was stamped/embossed on Red Hot cardstock with Black Embossing Powder, adhered to the card, and had to add a bit of pearl bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
