I did a little paper piecing on this one and combined it with some older October Afternoon patterned paper I have in my stash.  The image was sponged with Memento ink and then I paper pieced the egg and chicks.

Hoot!

We are heading home today from a wonderful getaway to Maggie Valley, NC... it was a first for us and we have so enjoyed ourselves!  As we head home, we are dropping our oldest off at camp for another week... she is so excited to return and proud of her because this time she is going without knowing anyone and that is quite a big step!!  I made this little card for her and hoping she gets it at the start of her week....  I used the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps set Owl Be There

and did some paper piecing with some older October Afternoon patterned paper.

God Sweetens...

Here is another card I made with Hugs and Prayers. This time I paired it with some cheerful October Afternoon patterned paper and rounded the bottom of the card to add interest.

All of my chicks are back in the nest and very thankful for the Lord's safety and protection this past week while they were gone to camp. They both had a wonderful time and were challenged spiritually from His Word. Their little brother is so glad to have them home again... Jeb went right to wrestling his brother and sweet talking his sister... Lots of running around here this week and *hope* to work in some stamping time too. I pray you have a wonderful day!!! God's Promises

I am adoring the new Stars stamp set from Gina K Designs. This sentiment just jumped out at me as a Biblical truth I need to be reminded of daily. I used the new Grass Green cardstock, as well as the Fly a Kite patterned paper (October Afternoon). The sketch for this card came from the Sketch Challenge over on StampTV, it is Vicki's last sketch as hostess and she has done a phenomenal job the past three months! Sure hope you can play along...one participant will be chosen at random to win a new GKD stamp set!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #81

I made this for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge which this week is Ferris Buellers Day Off CSCC#81. I knew that the new Stars stamp set illustrated by Tami Mayberry would be just perfect with the *Rock Star* sentiment (thinking of all of the great music in the film). Since Ferris is skipping school, I thought the spiral punch would work as Ferris was looking to avoid anything remotely related to school that day :o) The sentiment is framed within one of the label stamps from Lovely Labels, and the patterned paper is The Thrift Shop from October Afternoon.

On the inside I used the sentiment, You're my Hero (a quote from the movie) from Masculine Messages and stamped a few stars as well....

Sweet Thanks...

This was a fun little card to make using a favorite sweet treat image...ice cream! Oh yeah, as we near the hot summer months nothing quite hits the spot like ice cream :o) I used the stamp set 100% Sweet and some October Afternoon patterned paper. I was surprised with how quickly it came together and just had to adjust the sentiment a bit due to a stupid smudge on my part... Man, I hate it when I am finished with a card, getting ready to take a picture and THEN notice a smudge...Gggrrr... Can't blame anyone though, it was clearly "moi!"
