CP125

A quick card to share that I made using the Card Patterns 125 sketch.  I wanted to keep it more simple and combined it with Suzanne's Mix It Up Monday challenge ~ Monochromatics on Stamp TV.  I used A Year of Flowers, Pressed Flowers and the sentiment is from Stenciled Spring.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

CP113

Layers of Color is sponsoring the Card Patterns Sketch 113 this week.  One lucky randomly picked participant will receive both Embroidered Butterfly and Warbler cling art stamps.

I used Prima Recollections patterned paper and the cling art stamp Embroidered Butterfly on my card.  The sentiment is from Sent with Love.  The sketch was so fun to figure out and I went with the Spellbinders Lacey Circle dies for the top. The butterfly was sponged with ink and popped up on pop dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

SRM Stickers...oh my!

Well...today I am eating my words...  I was always, always anti-sticker...cough-cough...ummm, now I am not.  I LOVE these stickers...  At CHA, my dear friend Nina gave me some SRM Stickers and I stuffed them with the rest of my CHA goodies thinking, eh, maybe I can try one some day.  These are so easy to use and I can say I am a converted sticker card maker...lol!  This card fits two challenges: Play Date Cafe Challenge 76 and the Card Patterns Sketch 110.  Thanks Nina...as if I needed another paper crafting item to collect :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

CP94: Merry Christmas

I made this for the Card Patterns #94 sketch challenge.  Super easy sketch..  I used the stamp set Block Greetings and paired it with some My Mind's Eye patterned paper.   The sentiment is from Holiday Greetings.  The label image was sponged with Antique Linen distress ink to age it a bit and have it blend with the patterned paper. I wrapped some cream colored tulle and added one punched snowflake. A nice quick and easy Christmas card.

We are getting freezing rain today and hoping it switches over to rain soon!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

CP84 ~ Just a Note

The Card Patterns sketch this week is a fun one and I went right to my stash of Webster's Pages.  I added the doily image from Nana's Needlework and the Just a Note label is from Lovely Labels 2. Can you tell I like these new labels?   I stamped the label onto a scrap of Webster's Pages and tied a bow with some Navy Organdy ribbon.  I hope to be back a little later with some sneak peeks I created using some of the soon to be released Layers of Color stamps...  Oh my...and that is ALL I can say :o)

Thanks for stopping by!

Nature Walk ~ Flourish

I made this card using Nature Walk from Layers of Color and a Scripture sentiment from my collection of wood mounted stamps. This also fits for the Just for Fun Color Challenge #22 and the Card Patterns #75 challenge.

I have been quite absent from blogging (and visiting blogs for that matter) and honestly haven't given it any thought.... My dear husband was in the hospital over the weekend with Lone Atrial Fibrillation. Things are settling down now and we have much to be thankful for in many answered prayers this weekend. His heart went back into rhythm on its' own about 15 hours after it went haywire...that was a LONG 15 hours. I learned more about afib, than I ever thought was possible at my husband's young age (he is 40). I have never prayed so much in one day as I did on Saturday and honestly the Lord gave me a peace each step of the way that I cannot explain other than that it "passeth all understanding" ~ Phil. 4:7. All tests have shown there is nothing wrong with his heart, it was just a "lone" event...no way to explain it or why it occurred. We are just very thankful and have a new look on this life the Lord has blessed us with.... I do have one verse to share that was shared with me (from dear Grace) that is so very encouraging to me, Ps. 73:26, "My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever."

I pray you have a wonderful day and hope to be back to *normal* next week.....

Card Patterns 68

I made this for the Card Patterns sketch this week. Just had to use the Stars stamp set again (so many fun things to do with these stars and I haven't even tried the typical patriotic card yet, lol!). This time wanted to use some of this cool Fly a Kite patterned paper from October Afternoon and matched it up with some Innocent Pink cardstock. Added a little bit of distressing by sponging Antique Linen along the edges and D-O-N-E!

Another quick post... It has been a busy weekend and start to the week. Lord willing, in a few hours we will be heading to my parents for a few days and going to the BEACH!! Woo-hoo!!! Looking forward to visiting my folks, smelling the salt in the air and feeling the sand between my toes...Aaaahhhh. Hope you have a great rest of your week! :o)

Webster's Pages

The sketch for this card is from Card Patterns, (CP65). I made this for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #80. The movie this week is Becoming Jane and in addition to being inspired by the movie, we were to use pearls and flowers on our project. Now to clarify, I have not seen this movie yet...but love Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility (and plan on checking this one soon!) I know in the latter mentioned two movies the fabric for the dresses/drapery/furniture is so beautiful and used some Webster's Pages patterned paper as well as a Webster's Pages Coco Bloomer for my card.

I used the two different stamp sets: Lovely Labels and Sew Pretty, as well as some Crochet Natural Lace, which I sponged with Cocoa ink to distress it a bit so it would blend in with the patterned paper. I sponged the edges of the layers with distress ink: Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy, so it also fits for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #60 this week. Hey Patti and Olga...I am combining challenges again, lol! I love it when you go to make a card and by the end you...LOVE it! That is how it is with this one.... :o) I do not mean to sound prideful at all, just love how all of the elements came together...
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Card Patterns 63

I made this using the Card Patterns sketch this week. I used some of the beautiful Webster's Pages patterned paper as well as this gorgeous Green Ruffle Trim and Crochet Trim Natural (which I lightly sponged with Antique Linen ink. This beautiful ribbon and Webster's Pages can be found at Limelight Papercrafts and I just love Mandy's fast shipping! ...just a hint on the ribbon....you need 2 yards, at least! One yard is just enough to make yourself mad! :oP) I used a variety of stamps from Gina K. Designs: the label from Lovely Labels, the image is from Sew Pretty, and the sentiment from Thanks a Million. I stamped the paper flowers with two patterns from Vintage Backgrounds, sponged with Antique Linen and layered a Glitter Sparkler on top. My card base is Soft Sand and layered the patterned paper with Fresh Asparagus.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Card Patterns 60

I made this card for the Card Patterns sketch challenge this week and used the new set from Nina Brackett Vintage Backgrounds and the sentiment is from Inside and Out. I am such a fan of Nina's and this new set is right up my alley. It will be the perfect compliment for so many stamp sets and doesn't have the bulk of so many large background stamps. I used a Sharpie marker to mark where my circles were on the actual stamp so there were no worries with lining it up (perfect every time!). I will try to get a picture this weekend to show what I am talking about... Nina had originally shown it on her blog some time ago with her Vintage Border set.

I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Card Patterns 57

I made this for the Card Patterns 57 challenge. I loved the sketch and will definitely be using this one again and again. The original sketch had an oval (which I love), but I really, really *needed* to use this fun label that matches the Labels 9 die. :o) The stamps are from several different sets: Lovely Labels, Spring Mix STV Kit and Friends. The hardest time I had with this card was finding some matching olive ribbon.... which I finally did at the bottom of my ribbon scrap bin. The patterned paper is some of the new Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety which has some really fun patterns. I do believe Cosmo Cricket is quickly becoming a favorite...(shhh, don't tell Basic Grey, LOL!)
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Card Patterns 56

I made this for the Card Patterns sketch this week. I used the new set from Nina Brackett: Nana's Needlework and adore this basket of yarn. One of my goals in life is that I would love to learn how to knit...I see ladies bring a basket/bag of knitting supplies to waiting rooms and what a perfect way to pass the time while waiting for an appointment as well as a sense of accomplishment in actually making something.

Anyways...on to the card... I used Sweet Corn and Fresh Asparagus cardstock, which matches beautifully with Cosmo Cricket Material Girl patterned paper. The image was colored with Copics and cut out with those fun Nesties Labels Nine dies.

Can you believe it is Thursday already? The week is flying!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day...

CP53 and a Happy Dance!!!!

I made this for the Card Patterns 53 sketch challenge. I used the stamp sets Lovely Labels and Bold Flowers and I was going to write more about it...BUT......

Pinch, pinch, pinch...(no it is not St. Patrick's Day...) I saw THIS and about fell out of the computer chair! Oh my goodness...and yes, I am doing a Happy Dance..and no it is still NOT pretty, but it is a *happy* dance all the same! :o) I am so stoked I can hardly believe it... I have been a huge Gina K. Designs fan since June 2008 and to have this honor of being the GKD Center Stage Designer is a dream come true for me ;o) Thank you so much Gina for this fabulous opportunity and I hope I do Gina K. Card Patterns Sketch 48

Card Patterns has another fabulous sketch this week. For my card, I used the leafy stamp from the Organize It Stamp TV Kit and the sentiment from Flowers for Daisy. The patterned paper is from the new Basic Grey Origins which match perfectly with the colors in the STV Kit: Sweet Corn and Fresh Asparagus. I really love this green...note to self: order more!
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a great day!
