How Sweet

Today I have a card I made using some Penny Black stamp.
I used Sweet as Honey and the background Floral Thread and a bit of watercoloring. The background was stamped using Pear Tart and I layered the die cut image which was watercolored (using distress inks).

I am entering this into the newest Penny Black challenge
I have been having a hard time finding crafty time lately...much less blog hopping!
This summer has been crazy and currently the big kids are off to the Wilds for a week of camp and I am still organizing/reorganizing from moving my craft room out to create a home office for my DH. I had NO IDEA I had so much stuff!!! Oh my goodness, this has been painful! And now a new CHA is happening with some fab new products coming and I am in trouble all over again. Biggest must have right now....the new Archival ink colors!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Scored Kindness

Today I have a card to share that I made for the current  Scor-Pal design team call.  I created this cool grid using my Scor-Buddy and even scored the Kraft panel behind it.

The grid is super easy to create!
To start with I used my Scor-Buddy to create a 1/4-inch grid on a  3 1/2 x 4 1/2 ivory panel of card stock as seen here by scoring every 1/4 inch (both horizontally and vertically):

Then I stamped the Floral Thread background stamp (Penny Black) onto the scored panel. Love the tiled look it creates:

In order to highlight the tiled look, I sponged it with Tea Dye distress ink being careful not to press too hard on the scored panel:

Here is a close-up:

After I had sponged the panel I adhered it to the red card stock using 1/4" Scor-Tape.

Background stamps are fun and easy to use with this technique, but smaller stamps work as well. I am thinking next time I will do it with leaves in autumn colors...and snowflakes would be fun too!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Crayon Resist

Hello!  Getting back in the swing of things after a little getaway with the family and have a card to share that I made using Floral Thread background, Butterfly Kiss, and Gratitude.  I stamped the image with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I die cut the image using Labels Fourteen and colored over the flower petals with a white crayon.  After the were covered with crayon, I generously sponged the die cut (in the die) with Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.  It really makes the flower POP!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Celebrate

Today I have a CAS card to share using the beautiful background, Floral Thread, illustrated by my friend Laura Kirstie Campbell.  I inked it up with various Memento ink pads: LuLu Lavender, Angel Pink, Cantaloupe, Summer Sky, New Sprout and stamped it onto white cardstock.   Then I stamped the sentiment (from Gratitude) with Versafine Black Oynx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The panel was layered onto some Black Oynx cardstock and adhered to a white card base.  The butterfly (from Social Butterfly) was stamped/embossed and gently sponged using Ink Blushers.  I adhered it by the sentiment with a pop dot.
I am entering this into the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Allegro con Brio and was inspired by the pastel colors:

PDCC#136

A simple card to share today using some stamps that I recently purchased.  The kids were outside playing wiffle ball with their daddy and gave me a chance to think about "cleaning" only I got distracted, lol!  For this card I used several Penny Black stamps including: Petal Party for the sentiment/flower, Floral Thread (illustrated by sweet Laura Kirste Campbell) and Puzzle Parts.  I stamped the flower using Versafine black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I sponged distress ink and trimmed layering one flower on top of the other for dimension.  The Floral Thread background was stamped on a scrap piece of Ocean Mist card stock and then die cut, adding a bit more sponging.

The colors for this card were inspired by the Play Date Cafe Challenge this week:
