Exciting news...

I have some news I am excited to finally share....you can see more HERE.  Here's a hint:

Obviously, I am thrilled to be a part of the blog team and have quite of few things I am working on to share with you soon!
Now on to my card for today....
I have been so hooked on stencils lately and this one (Swiss Dots) particularly from The Crafter's Workshop and combined it with some Penny Black stamps (Social Butterfly and the sentiment from Petal Party).  The only techniques on this one per se is a bit of embossing and lots of sponging.  Do you see the new Spellbinders dies (Asian Accents)...oh my, these are such a FAV and are getting broken in quite nicely!

Dreams Soar

Hello!  Today I have a CAS design to share using Social Butterfly and a sentiment from Free Flight. I stamped the butterfly using Versafine Oynx Black, embossed with clear embossing powder, and colored with Copics. I added some Want2Scrap bling to highlight my focal point.

I am entering this card into the Card Design Handbook Week: The Focal Point Challenge. Looking forward to this new special issue from Paper Crafts!!!

CPS275: Life is Beautiful

Today I have a card to share that I made for the CPS275 sketch challenge.  I used the several stamp sets from Penny Black (Floral Thread, Social Butterfly and Petal Party) and Clearsnap ink.  Hope you can join us for this fun sketch this week.

Celebrate

Today I have a CAS card to share using the beautiful background, Floral Thread, illustrated by my friend Laura Kirstie Campbell.  I inked it up with various Memento ink pads: LuLu Lavender, Angel Pink, Cantaloupe, Summer Sky, New Sprout and stamped it onto white cardstock.   Then I stamped the sentiment (from Gratitude) with Versafine Black Oynx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The panel was layered onto some Black Oynx cardstock and adhered to a white card base.  The butterfly (from Social Butterfly) was stamped/embossed and gently sponged using Ink Blushers.  I adhered it by the sentiment with a pop dot.
I am entering this into the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Allegro con Brio and was inspired by the pastel colors:

Time to be Creative

Today I have something very different from a normal card to share.  I was recently at AC Moore and saw these amazing plain wood clocks and immediately thought about something I had seen Jill Foster share using wooden birds (HERE) and thought I would give it a try.

The flowers on this frame are from Petal Party and embossed using Versafine Black Oynx ink and Clear Embossing powder.  Then, I colored the flowers with a yellow and orange Big Brush Marker from Design Memory Craft     ** they blend very easily layering one color on top of the other
Here is a photo of that process:

To fill in the gaps between the flowers, I used a yellow gelato and rubbed it in liberally with my fingers.  I added the butterflies from Social Butterfly (which I again embossed with Versafine Black Oynx ink and clear embossing powder).  I colored them with two shades of blue Big Brush Markers and using permanent glue dots attached them to the frame.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the center of each flower and debated between liquid pearls and Want2Scrap bling....the latter won as I considered those holes a bit big for liquid pearls, lol!
I am amazed with how easy, fast and FUN this was to create
and hope I have inspired you to give your stamps a whirl on wood!  I had NO idea how easy it was/is!!!

Now I need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby!!  There is a LOT of shaped wood pieces there... :)

I am entering this into the Penny Black Art Extravaganza and if you have any Penny Black stamps hope you will play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
