Sketch Girls #4

Today I have a card to share that I made with using the Sketch Girls sketch. Now let me be the first to tell you this one was fact, I made another one and couldn't get the sentiment placement right so gave it one more go at it and so glad I did.

This one "works" if you know what I mean. Oftentimes we just use a sketch as a general idea and I have no problem with going a bit off the sketch, but this time was challenging myself to STICK to it!   I used the stamp set Timeless Treasures designed by Theresa and some Basic Grey designer paper.  The card base is Soft Sand with Chocolate Kiss as a layering piece.  I love the sturdiness of the Gina K. Luxury cardstock...just can't be beat!  I stamped the lock twice and popped one up on a dimensional to add a little extra umph!

This month there is a contest for a 2 sketch Guest Designer spot with the Sketch Girls Design Team. The winner will be chosen from all of those that participate...the contest will start with this sketch and end in two weeks when the next sketch (SG5) goes up. The fun part....the Guest Designer will participate with us for SG6 and SG7 and get a special blog badge! There will even be a prize for the winner of this get to creating with this sketch and show us what you've got! :o)

Be sure and check out the rest of the Sketch Girls creations for more inspiration (on my side bar) and hope to see your card linked up very soon!!!   And don't forget about the chance at my blog candy which you can find below this post :o) Have a great day!

What a Good Sport!

I made this card using the Inspiration Mosaic stamp set designed by Melanie.  I masked all of the sporty images from Just So Sporty and Sporty Accessories into their own little blocks.  Just a fun little sporty card!  Don't forget about the blog candy down below :o)  Have a great day!

Blog Candy....and a card!

I made this card using a sketch from Limelight last week. This sentiment Nappy Hour from the Sentiment Singles line of Creative Vision just cracks me up! Again this time I used two different colors of ink (Sage Shadow and Regal Rose) which is easy to do with the Stampin' Spots.

I know that Creative Vision will be having a Design Team call coming up this week so check out the company blog for all of the details at A Fairy Creative Place (make sure you are a follower to get the requirements and updates) I have had a wonderful experience designing for them the past several months and highly recommend it. The quality of stamps is really top notch and some cute and fun holiday stamps will be available soon! Eeeks, so exciting! :o)

Now to some more fun stuff....
I have some blog candy I want to share. You all have been so wonderful to me and I have some goodies to share! Included in the blog candy are three Sentiment Singles stamps: Nappy Hour, Motherhood and I'm Your Friend as well as some ribbon, Silver stickles and a little bling. I figured with it being my birthday Monday why not have blog candy and celebrate...any ideas how old I am?? You have until September 6th to leave a comment (if you spread the word and become a follower you get extra chances to win, of course) and on Monday, September 7th I will draw a winner!

Not sure anyone has noticed, but I have had quite a few Chinese/Japanese commenters leaving "stuff" in my comment section so I having to add a word verification for a bit...sorry for the inconvenience!

My Friend

I have had a busy few days with a smidgen of a stupid accident that left me with 6 stitches. :o)  So NOT good!  I am just fine, but am inconvenienced with a sore left bow making will not be accomplished for a bit, hee~hee!

I made this card using
Inspiration Mosaic and clear embossed the leaves (from Autumn Leaves) using Versamark.  Afterwards the panel was brayered with an autumn colored spectrum pad.   A nice wow effect with little effort.  I am so looking forward to cooler temperatures and seeing the leaves change colors...fall is my favorite time of the year!

Well, before I go I have a sneak peek of the card I made for the Sketch Girls Challenge.  Leigh Ann came up with another great sketch that had me stretching my creativity.  I made this card twice..the first one didn't quite fit so I tried it again and came up with this one....which you will see in its entirety on the 31st! :o)

Have a wonderful day!!!

This was a quick card I put together using the Motherhood stamp from the Sentiment Singles line at Creative Vision. I used the new Basic Grey Lemonade 6x6 pad. I added a few matching buttons along the bottom right to tie it all together. I just love these sweet sentiment stamps from Creative Vision. I just found out another dear friend of mine is going to be having another little blessing soon (yep, a different friend than the mom of nearly 7) so I will be sending this to her. It seems quite a few ladies I know are expecting little bundles of joy soon, just so exciting! and just so you know, there will be no more here....I am D-O-N-E, too old to do that again! LOL! :o)

Speaking of which...I have a birthday coming up soon and will be offering some fun blog candy... so be sure to check back!

Monochromatic Mosaic

This card uses the stamp set Inspiration Mosaic as well as the leaf stamp from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit.  After stamping the grid, the leaves were stamped using Olive Olive on Certainly Celery cardstock.  The sentiment square was masked with a post -it note so the rest of the card could be sponged.  I added just a bit of Certainly Celery ribbon and called it done ;o) Nice and easy~peasy!
Have a great day!

Thankful Rooster

I can't believe it is Monday the weekend flew by!  I made this card for a challenge over on StampTV.  The colors are Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate Kiss and dp is from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit.  The rooster and leaves (also from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit) were stamped using Vivid Cocoa Bean and embossed with Clear EP.  I just love the rich colors of the Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate Kiss together.... very "autumny."
Have a great day!

Sale Alert!!! There is a great deal for bloggers at Creative Vision for 3 days only. When you go to Creative Vision, you can get a coupon code for 30% off your entire order.  AND the ENTIRE store is on sale. That is some BIG SAVINGS, but remember it is for 3 days only.  :o)

Extra Little Blessing

Today I have a card made with another clear stamp from Creative Vision's Sentiment Singles line. This is for a friend of mine who is expecting another little one (her 7th!!!) and they know it will be a little boy.  The sentiment Little Blessing (which is on sale for only $4.00) was stamped using Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder and heavily sponged to make the sentiment POP!  The designer paper is from the Making Memories Chloe's Closet line that I found real cheap :o)  The buttons were threaded with white organdy ribbon and knotted through the holes.  This was a very quick card to make and the little saying is just perfect for her new little bundle coming....
Have a great day!

Inspiration Mosaic

Melanie's new stamp set, Inspiration Mosaic, is a card makers dream!  I had a couple of other cards to share today, but wanted to make a card to send to a blogging friend of mine: Cathy Tidwell (aka: catdidit on SCS) who is in the hospital.

The new Pumpkin Spice cardstock was the perfect base for this card and I paired it with Pure Luxury Ivory and Chocolate Kiss.  I used Stampin' Up! Really Rust classic ink on the leaves from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV Kit and stamped the grid and sentiment using Vivid Coffee Bean.   Some of the boxes were sponged with So Saffron ink just to add a bit of color.  I just love this sentiment....truly the paper crafting world is so blessed with Cat's paper creations!! :o)

I know that news of blog candy spreads FAST and would love for word to spread on praying for Cat.  If you are interested in sending some well wishes to Cat, please follow this link HERE.   I would love to see her flooded with mail!  :o)))  Have a great day!

This was a quick card I made using Theresa's new stamp set Timeless Treasures. I picked up some clearance scrapbooking packs from Michaels' and got a good sized package of Making Memories Chloe's Closet paper for under $5. Love that! I colored the clock with a green and brown Copic and actually paper pieced it into place (but you can't see it from this angle, Oops!)

Off for another busy day....hope to stamp at some point, but we will see. Have a great day!

Friends & Coffee

I had a great weekend and even managed to squeeze in a little stamping time!  ;o)  Always a good thing!  I used the coffee image and sentiment from the new Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit.  I am tickled with how it turned first I had scallops on both ends of the pink layer, but realized that was just too much (for me, LOL!).   I used some of the new designer paper from the Basic Grey Lemonade collection.  I made a Tailored Bow which I learned from the very creative Joanne B. so you can find the link to her tutorial HERE.  It is very easy~peasy!

Well, it is a very busy day here.  My kids are back to a school schedule and that keeps me on my toes.   Have a great day!

Inspiration Mosaic Blog Hop

Welcome to another stop on the Inspiration Mosaic Blog Hop. Melanie has hit another one OUT OF THE PARK with this fantastic new stamp set! This set even sold out last week, but no worries is back in stock :o) Stampers know when something is "hot" and this is burnin' up!

The idea to use the Scor-Pal popped in my head when Melanie first showed me the stamp set and when I saw the new Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit I knew I wanted to combine it with the leaves. I masked each block and randomly stamped the leaves using Ruby Red, More Mustard, Really Rust and Old Olive ink. I turned it over and evenly scored the cardstock both ways. I sponged over it with Creamy Caramel to make the grid really pop and I layered the panel on Pumpkin Spice (love this color....and am hoarding it already). The beautiful double stitched chocolate ribbon that comes in the kit I wrapped around the front and with a glue dot added the bow. Next I layered that the Pumpkin Spice panel onto Chocolate Kiss card base. The sentiment was added by first stamping the leaf and then adding the sentiment with Vivid Coffee Bean ink which I embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and layered as well.  I am having so much fun with this stamp set...a card came be as simple or elegant as you want it to be. It is all a matter of what you want to do with it.

Melanie also has a fun Potluck Challenge over on Stamp TV and this week it was to use a photo as the focal point on a project.  I took a small photo I had of my youngest son wandering around at the ball field and used Melanie's stamp set to create a Post-It Note holder using a clear acrylic 4x6 frame.  I ended up stamping it twice and paper pieced it together to get it about 6 inches wide.  I colored various block with a yellow Copic.  I am tickled with how this turned husband will put this on his desk at his office for quick little notes to jot down.

For even more inspiration, be sure to check out Melanie's blog.

Melanie also has several guest designers joining in on the hop tonight:
Jennie Harper, Tina Gilliland, Linda Payne, and Jenny Charboneau

These GinaK's Senior DT members have Inspiration Mosaic projects on their blogs as well: Gina K., Donna,
Cathy, Emily, Erika, Jessica, Lee, and Theresa

and finally, don't forget to check out our CenterStage DT members:
Shannon Bracken and Brenda Turner

Treasured Moments

Before I head to the beach with my three kiddos, I wanted to share a quick card I made with Theresa Momber's new set Timeless Treasures. I just love the images in this set and the sentiments.  I used the postage stamp and template from Just For Fun that I got at the stamp show I went to last week.   Well, I am off to get some things together....  Have a great day!

Wishing You...

Thank you everyone for your kind works and encouragement in being chosen as Melanie's Guest Designer this month!   I am enjoying the ride and learning a ton :o)  I still have so many ideas, just need to time to sit and get them done.

I made this card for the Moxie Fab Challenge and got my inspiration from the Bright and Breezy Tote from Sundance.   I used the Linen BG stamp and Groovy Guava ink to give the background a bit of texture. The large dandelion stamp I used is from Many Wishes and each one was embossed with Clear Embossing powder (and either Ruby Red or White Craft Ink).  I also embossed in Ruby Red the sentiment.

I am hoping to stamp a little bit this weekend, we will see how the weekend goes.  I also have cleaning and other non-fun but essential things to get done :o) Have a great weekend!

Guest Designer for Melanie!!!

I have been sitting on some news that has me about to pop with sheer excitement... Oh, my goodness, would you believe.... Melanie Muenchinger asked me a couple of weeks ago to be her Guest Designer for her new stamp set Inspiration Mosaic.  Oh course, I squealed (hubby thought I was crazy!), did a little dancing jig (not a pretty sight!), and jumped at the opportunity!

When she showed me this set, I was AMAZED.  There is nothing like it anywhere that I have seen and I was so excited to get the chance to design with this very unique stamp set.
I have two projects to share today, the first card is using exclusively the stamp set Inspiration Mosaic.

I created this card using the masking technique and wanted to use all of the larger shapes included in this set.  For the sentiments (which how meaningful are they??) I used the Memories Autumn Rainbow ink pad (just a spectrum ink pad I bought years ago).  I wanted to keep with those colors as much as possible so used various Earth Elements classic ink to to mask all of these shapes.   A couple of simple layers and I was done....

This card I created using the masking technique as well as the large dauber sponges to sponge on the color in the various blocks.  I wanted to keep it more CAS so tried not to make it too busy with images.  I used the smaller dandelion from Many Wishes and added just a bit of Black Gingham ribbon.

This stamp set is so versatile.  This set is the perfect complement to my stamp collection and is one I know I will use a LOT!  Today I have focused mainly on masking, but the techniques you can use with this stamp set are limitless.   I want to thank Melanie for choosing me to Guest Design for her this month and giving me this most creative opportunity.  I am having a blast!!! Now I have more ideas I want to try, hhhhmmm, hope the little one takes a good nap today! :o)
Have a great day!

Nappy Hour

I have another card to share using a sentiment from the Sentiment Singles line of stamps from Creative Vision.  I think this saying (Nappy Hour) is so funny and for me, it is so true.  I am most creative when my 16 month old goes down for his nap :o)  Somehow I can clean, cook, and fold laundry, but stamp time is harder to come by when he is underfoot.

VBS is going very well...the week is flying by and I have been stamping up a storm while my little one naps in the afternoon (hence another reason I love this sentiment!)

**Blog Candy Alert**  Tina is having some fun blog candy over on her blog today...She is giving away blog candy that will include a Gina K. stamp set, I am all over that one! :o)

Have a great day!

Single Sunflower

I hope you had a great weekend.  I sure did...I took over the kitchen table and stamped like mad at every opportunity I got.  I am pleased with quite a bit I made and look forward to sharing :o)

I made this card for a fun Sketch Challenge over on Stamp TV and even combined it with the Potluck Friday challenge which was to use sunflowers on a project.  I love the big sunflower from Melanie's stamp set A Year of Flowers and stamped it with Memento Black and colored it with my Copics.  I don't have the exact yellow I wanted, but created a more subdued yellow by combining it with a caramel Copic.  The designer paper I used is Basic Grey June Bug, which I LOVE...I almost didn't buy this one, but so glad I did.  I love red/yellow together and find this card quite cheerful and I don't generally like bold brights colors and patterns, but this I *love*.  It just makes me smile :o)

Well, I have a busy day here.  It is the first day of VBS this week and I am teaching the 4 year olds.  I haven't done this age group in years and have some fun things planned and look forward to working with them.  By the time I come home, my youngest will go down for a nap and maybe, just maybe I can stamp some more.

Your Friend

I'm Your Friend is another great sentiment from Creative Vision's Sentimental Singles line and this one just cracks me up :o)  Yes, it is slightly egotistical, but it makes me smile!  I have a few people in mind for this card and know that they will get a good laugh...

For this card I used the retired In Color Pink Pirouette with the Basic Grey designer paper Lemonade.  When I received my stamps for August, Laura included these fun big brads which I thought would be the perfect accent.
Have a great day!
