Just for Fun Color Challenge #18

I made this card for the Just for Fun Friday Color Challenge #18 (Purple, Green and Blue). I don't have any Just For Fun images (other than the grid stamps) and used some Gina K. Designs stamps. However, next weekend I am actually going to a Stamps & Scrap Art Show and Just for Fun Stamps will be there again this year :o) Last year a dear friend (intials: LINDA PAYNE) and I loaded up on their postage style of grids...wonder what will bite us this year, lol! This was a fun color combo and for the blue used Ocean Mist (a bit of an aqua color). I also added a bit of purple patterned paper from Basic Grey Kioshi for the bottom half, added some wide grosgrain and purple twine threaded buttons to finish my design.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you are having a wonderful week. It is hard to believe it is almost the weekend again :o) Yippee!
Blessings,

Limelight Sketch #33

I made this card for the Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge #33 featuring a sketch by the uber talented Lauren Meader. I used Basic Grey Indian Summer designer paper and the stamp set Take Flight from Gina K. Designs. I stamped the butterfly twice on a piece of the plum colored leaves designer paper (from Indian Summer) and like the way it gives various shades to the butterfly without actually needing to color it. I cut them both out and layered them popping up one to give extra dimension with its' wings taking "flight". Here is a close up:

It is just a beautifuil sentiment... Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

STV: Color Challenge

I made this for the color challenge on Stamp TV this week.  The challenge was to use any green, brown and white or vanilla and I think I have found a new favorite color combination: Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Kiss and Whisper White.  Ooo, la la....it is so pretty together :o)  I used the stamp set Take Flight which I just can't seem to put the down for long....  The background green panel was created using the Scor-Pal and Scor-Bug tool.  I did it on a scrapbook page over the weekend and had to try it again...after it was scored with the bug I sponged it with Wild Wasabi to make it pop!

Have a great day!!!

Limelight Sketch Challenge #25

I made this card using the newly released Basic Grey Lemonade designer paper for this weeks Limelight Papercrafts Sketch and Product Challenge this week.  This week the focus is on buttons (which is something I just adore!)  I just had to combine the sketch with the butterfly from Take Flight for the circle focal image.  For the buttons, I used the Basic Grey buttons that match the Lemonade dp and am tickled with how perfectly they match up.   Just a fun card to put together :o)
Have a great weekend!!

Crayon Resist Butterfly

I haven't made a card with the Crayon Resist Technique in a while so when I saw that was the challenge for this week on StampTV, I knew I had to try it again.  I am a huge fan of easy techniques, especially not knowing exactly how long I have to create (due to my little one's nap) and this was perfect!  In fact, I created two cards during his nap time and will share the other one another time.

I used one of the butterflies from Take Flight as well as some sprigs from Tropical Flowers.  I found some retired Basic Grey paper that I knew would match up fairly nicely with the retired SU colors Soft Sky and Blue Bayou so was thankful to find it.  I have noticed I don't have a lot of blue designer paper...how can that be?  I will have to remedy that soon!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Blog Hop Farewell Tour

It has been a wonderful being one of the designers for Gina K's Center Stage Spotlight Design Team for the month of June.   Gina K. Designs is one of my favorite stamp companies and to be recognized in this way was a huge honor!  Gina has some of the most talented illustrators and designers in the industry on her team and it was a pleasure working with them all this past month.

As part of being Center Stage this month, we were each assigned a stamp set and also given the stamp set Many Wishes which is the One Free with Three stamp set for this month. I love the various sizes of these dandelions and the sentiments.  It will definitely be one of my "go~to" stamp sets!  I am tickled with how both of these cards turned out and hope you enjoy them as well.  I love this butterfly from Take Flight and couldn't resist combining it with this set.

The stamp set that I was assigned for the blog hop was Happy Camper, designed by Theresa Momber, which  is such a wonderful outdoor stamp set. I want to share a page I made this past weekend using the fabulous scrapbook sketch by Erika Martin.

She has the best sketches each week on StampTV and doing these challenges has really stretched and inspired me to get scrapbooking the memories we make as a family!  I used some of the beautiful new Luxury Soft Sand cardstock.  The title for the page was created using the stamp set Happy Camper as well as Lazy Days of Summer. From the sign, I hung a few fish using some linen thread.

I hope you have enjoyed this part of this farewell tour.... The other ladies on the Center Stage Spotlight Design Team are all very talented and it was a pleasure getting to design with them this month :o)  To continue on the Farewell Tour Blog Hop, visit the rest of the creative Center Stage ladies (Selma, Carolina, Melisa, Pam and Carla) and Gina too, of course!

Tomorrow the next Center Stage Spotlight Design Team will be announced and also have the wonderful opportunity to work with Gina K. and the Design Team! If you would like to be on Center Stage....get creating and uploading to StampTV your Gina K. creation....the design team is always on the prowl looking for someone else to be Center Stage!
Have a great rest of your day!

Late Night Butterfly

I made this card late into the wee hours of the morning over the weekend..., hence the title Late Night Butterfly.  I had in my mind what I wanted to do for the longest time, and just had to see if it turned out the way I envisioned it, and it did!  I finally got the perfect large dauber sponges that to me are much easier to use and can achieve an even coloring without being all splotchy (if you know what I mean). I stamped the butterfly from Take Flight on a scrap piece of white and colored it with Copics, embossed it with Versamark and clear EP.  I cut it out and paper pieced it on top of the one in the main focal panel.  I am so pleased with how it turned out...  It turned out just as I pictured it! *~* (don't you love it when that happens!!!)

I created another one similar with a slightly different color scheme, but it is postal and hasn't landed yet :o)  I had a sweet stamper in mind and hope she gets it soon!

If Nothing Ever Changed

This past Wednesday Gina K. had a new technique challenge on StampTV called Pullin' Pastels. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but my goodness is it easy and a WOW technique.

I took a piece of In the Navy cardstock and with a cotton ball rubbed various shades of green, blue and yellow pastels to completely cover the cardstock.  Then I inked my butterfly image from the Eclectic Summer StampTV Kit in Versamark and stamped it the center of the In the Navy panel.  To set the chalk, I lightly misted the panel with aerosol hairspray.  I finished the card by using Basic Grey Lime Rickey designer paper, ribbon, and added the quote from the stamp set Take Flight.  A nice simple card with a WOW effect!

Have a great day!
