Fairy Wishes

Happy New Year!  It is hard to believe we are at the end of 2011 today...

A quick card to share today that I made using Fairy Wishes and The Love Chapter (script) from Layers of Color.  I used Memento Tangelo and Versafine Onyx Black ink from Tsukineko

Today I am taking down my Christmas decorations for the start of a new year tomorrow.  Quite a bit of reflecting as well on all the Lord has done for me this past year.  I am not a resolution type of person, but certainly contemplating areas in my life that I need to change and make better with His help.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

GKD December Release Inspiration Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the Gina K. Designs newest Release Inspiration Hop!  We are excited to share with you
two new stamp sets that were released last night.  First up is Stately Flowers 2, illustrated by Melanie:

I used some Tim Holtz distress ink (Peeled Paint and Victorian Velvet) to liberally sponged the stamped floral image.  Then I sprinkled the cardstock with a bit of water and set it with a heat gun to make the fun water spots.

And now for a card using Mountain Wilderness, illustrated by Theresa:
I used the Cuttlebug folder Polka Dots and some Memento Ink as well as Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink.

For even more samples of these new sets, please visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below and leave a comment. The more blogs you comment on, the more chances you have of winning!  Gina will announce on her blog the randomly chosen winners who will each win a fun Grab Bag of stamps from Gina K. Designs.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Nature's Greetings Blog Hop

Welcome to another Gina K. Design Team blog hop. Today we are sharing cards and projects using the Nature's Greetings set. If you came from Giovana's blog, you're at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop.

Here's what I came up with today:

The leafy image in this set lends itself to so many fun techniques and colors...I wanted to keep the color scheme rather subdued so stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa on Ivory cardstock.  The wording background is from Vintage Backgrounds and stamped using Memento Summer Sky for a nice subtle color. I stamped/cut/sponged twice the flower image and layered with a dimensional dot.
Head on over to Jimmi's blog to see what fabulous project she is sharing with you today!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Reindeer Noel

I had to get my stencils back out again as it has been some time since I last used them...  my favorite Layers of Color stencil (I think, lol!) is Vintage Medallion.  I used Memento Bamboo Leaves to stencil the medallion and then stamped over it with the script from The Love Chapter using Memento Lady Bug.  I sponged the bottom as well divided the card up using some wide red double-stitched ribbon.  I used Versafine Satin Red ink for the reindeer (from Reindeer Waltz) and the Noel sentiment (from Christmas Verses) and embossed them both with red embossing powder.

Here is a close up of the reindeer within the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents die:

Merry Christmas

Another quick card to share that I made for an upcoming stamp class at my local library using stamps.  It features the Vintage Postcard cling art stamp and Christmas Verses, both from Layers of Color.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks: Fired Brick and Tea Dye to create a fun background paper.  This makes for a simple card to mail that will not need additional postage.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Beautiful Wishes

This week is absolutely flying!!  I wish there were some way to slow down the month of December...it seems every day just flies.

A quick card to share today that I made using Dotted Dahlias from Layers of Color.  I embossed the floral image using Versamark from Tsukineko and clear embossing powder.  Then sponged over it with Evergreen Bough (from the Tim Holtz Winter Distress ink line), sprinkled a little water on top and set it with my heat gun.  Quite easy card...which I love! :)

As busy as these days are stamping time is hard to come by...  Off to start on dinner and perhaps a little wrapping of presents too.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
