CHA Envy Challenges

There are three fun challenges over on Stamp TV for those of you not at CHA this year and a wee bit envious :o) A few of the moderators/illustrators are hosting challenges and giving away GKD stamp sets and even the new set coming at the next release from Melanie.

I managed to make three cards yesterday while Jeb napped. This is for the Color Challenge by Lee which was to use Black and Yellow. I used the floral image from Hugs and Prayers and the sentiment is from Retro Boutique. If you would like more details on the challenges, please click here: CHAENVY (hee-hee...I think the tags for the challenges are so funny... lol!)

***Edited to add, the challenges need to be uploaded by Saturday at 7 pm CST***

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by....

Nature Walk from LOC

This has been a crazy busy week with little to no stamping... However, I was determined to make something very late last night and used this week's color challenge from Just For Fun: Blue, Yellow and Gray. I used the stamp set Nature Walk from Layers of Color and really LOVE the flowers and flourish (isn't it an elegant flourish!!!) in this set. Yesterday while watching some TV with the kiddos, I colored a bunch of the flowers with Copics to use them on future projects.

I hope you are having a good day. Dean is still suffering with his "camp crud" and the Dr. is *supposed* to be calling in a prescription today. He is so tired of laying around and being sick.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Hearts

Just a quick card I made for a magazine call which got "rejected" :o) You have to take it all in stride and thankfully I do. This card uses Tami Mayberry's set Happy Hearts and some Tim Holtz Distress inks. I found a great deal on the distress inks at a recent stamp show and was so tickled!

The kids are settled back in from the week of camp and again this year brought some camp germs (we call it "camp crud") with them. Dean started running a high fever Monday and since it was quite high and he had a very sore throat my dear husband took him to the doctor to check for strep which thankfully was negative. However...on the way home, to help his throat, he bought Dean a milkshake. Did I mention he had had a high fever???? Yep, high fever and milk products don't mix and within an hour of being home...well, you know! Of course, now our two year old boy likes to recreate it (which is quite funny!) LOL!
Here is hoping today is fever free!!! Hope you have a wonderful day!

God Sweetens...

Here is another card I made with Hugs and Prayers. This time I paired it with some cheerful October Afternoon patterned paper and rounded the bottom of the card to add interest.

All of my chicks are back in the nest and very thankful for the Lord's safety and protection this past week while they were gone to camp. They both had a wonderful time and were challenged spiritually from His Word. Their little brother is so glad to have them home again... Jeb went right to wrestling his brother and sweet talking his sister... Lots of running around here this week and *hope* to work in some stamping time too. I pray you have a wonderful day!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs and Prayers

A favorite color combination of mine is Lipstick Red, Sweet Corn and Black...for me it just pops! I scored the background Sweet Corn panel to add some interest and did a little 2 step stamping with the stamp set Hugs and Prayers. I used some of the large scalloped ovals to frame my focal image. Speaking of which...have you seen the previews for the new Spellbinders....oh my! Quite a few I just have to have...know what I mean?? Eeks!

Our kids are doing wonderful at camp and the little one has actually learned to play by himself!!! Who knew he could, lol! With older siblings to boss around, he has never really had to learn to occupy himself and I am pleased to announce...now he knows how! While we miss the older two, it has been a treat to have one on one time with Jeb. He is quite a character :o)
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day....

Layers of Color ~ Merci Bouquet

This is for my daughter who has gone (along with her brother) to camp at The Wilds this week. I wanted something girly and love the flowers in Merci Bouquet from Layers of Color. The colors on this were inspired by the color challenge from Just for Fun Stamps which is Chocolate, Orange and Yellow. There is a bit of paper piecing on this (the vase), as well as some Copic coloring on the image.

The older kids are off at camp this week so it is unusually quiet around here. Jeb is not quite sure what to do with himself and is content enough to follow us around. Every now and then you can hear him say, "Sis...Sis" and "Bu...bba." Just too cute!

I have a couple of pictures to share from this past weekend. Some dear friends from Virginia and I went to a Scrap and Stamp Art Show in Winston- Salem and got the opportunity to meet some sweet ladies... Here are two pics:

This is Linda Payne, me and Carla... Linda and Carla are current hostesses over on Stamp TV and are so very creative. We had watched a Tim Holtz demo (grunge paper, way cool!) by a staff member at the Enchanted Cottage.

Here is our entire group: Patti, Linda, Susan, Becky, Joan, Judy, Carla, Olga and myself... Just a sweet bunch of stampers. We laughed and created so many funny memories...I mean, who carries around 8 packs of nuts? I know someone who does! :o) Just too many fun stories to share and such a blessing to meet up together. Thanks ladies...can't wait until next year and hopefully even more will join us. Thanks for stopping by...

Moxie Fab Classy and Elegant

This is for the Moxie Fab Classy and Elegant Challenge and uses the the stamp set Hugs and Prayers. Sadly, right now I am going through the sympathy cards, three this week alone :o(. I appreciate the Scripture verses that Nina included in this set and so many excellent verses to choose from... I stamped the flower twice, the second time being on a piece of Lipstick Red cardstock and did some paper piecing.

Some dear friends are coming into town and heading to a stamp show with me on Saturday (yay!) and will be sure to share some pictures of our get together next week :o) I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

CPS 175 Chairish

This is for the CPS175 Challenge and it also fits for the Moxie Fab Challenge Clean and Graphic. I used Fine Furnishings, Fine Furnishings Additions and Fun Year Round. I used some polka dots patterned paper (from Cosmo Cricket I think) and Turquoise Sea cardstock. Hope you like it... still getting these kiddos ready for camp and cleaning house too. Have some dear friends coming to visit this weekend and can't wait to sit and chat :o) I hope you have a wonderful day!

On the Move: Moxie Fab Fun and Cute Challenge

Today's card is for a Moxie Fab Challenge: Fun and Cute. I used Tami Mayberry's Oh Boy! stamp set as well as the polka dots from Vintage Backgrounds. The actual sketch for this card is one Melissa had over on Stamp TV (which has great sketches if you are ever at a loss for where to start). The helicopter was paper pieced with a scrap piece of Fancy Pants The Daily Grind patterned paper.

It has been a busy couple of days and much to be thankful for.... In addition to answered prayers, I was notified yesterday of several cards picked up for publication and so very excited!! I am still pinching myself and re-reading the emails :o) I pray you have a wonderful day!

CAS Layers of Color

:I wanted to make some CAS designs using the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil and the thank you sentiment from Merci Bouquet. For both of these, I also used some Webster's Pages patterned paper and on the first card some Green Ruffle Trim.

Things have been busy around here so not much stamping time, but that is okay. :o) Our older two children leave next week for the The Wilds, a Christian camp in the mountains, and are very excited. Our sweet daughter starts counting down the days when she comes back until she can return, lol! So around here right now there is a lot of gathering/packing, as well as praying for the Lord to work in their hearts and lives through the messages from His Word that they will be hearing.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I pray you have a wonderful day!

Thank You...

I made this for two challenges: Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge #51 and Just for Fun Color Challenge #19. I used the postage grid from Just for Fun (as well as the template for some light sponging) and Botanicals. The focus of the Limelight Papercrafts challenge was background stamping and used one of the images from Botanicals to stamp on Bashful Blue cardstock with Summer Sky ink. I am really tickled with how this turned out and love the colors of the Just for Fun challenge, brown and blue is a favorite color combo!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day :o)

CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to a fun blog hop being hosted by members of StampTV Center Stage Alumni. A group of us have decided to get together a couple of times a month and host a themed hop in order to share our love for Gina K. stamps. If you've arrived from Jen's Blog then you're at the right place! To start at the beginning, please go to StampTV and hop from there.

The challenge for this hop is a Color Challenge ~ Kraft or Tan Leather, Green (Creme de Menthe, Grass Green, Fresh Asparagus, or Green Apple) and White. Here's what I came up with:

I used the stamp set Hugs and Prayers and Vintage Backgrounds for my card. One technique I haven't used yet with this set is Emboss Resist and thought it was about time and this hop was the perfect occasion. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety.

Ready for more inspiration? Hop on over to Joan's Blog to see her beautiful project!
Thanks for stopping by and have wonderful weekend.
Blessings,

Hugs and Prayers

A quick card to share today using Hugs and Prayers. This time I used the Tim Holtz distress inks: Fired Brick and Victorian Velvet for the 2 step stamping technique. I love the rose hue to the Victorian Velvet and now need more Distress inks... Believe me I am working on my list for the Stamp and Scrap Art Show in Winston-Salem.

I pray you are having a wonderful week. It is HOT and HUMID here in North Carolina and looking forward to fall already...
Thanks for stopping by!

Just for Fun Color Challenge #18

I made this card for the Just for Fun Friday Color Challenge #18 (Purple, Green and Blue). I don't have any Just For Fun images (other than the grid stamps) and used some Gina K. Designs stamps. However, next weekend I am actually going to a Stamps & Scrap Art Show and Just for Fun Stamps will be there again this year :o) Last year a dear friend (intials: LINDA PAYNE) and I loaded up on their postage style of grids...wonder what will bite us this year, lol! This was a fun color combo and for the blue used Ocean Mist (a bit of an aqua color). I also added a bit of purple patterned paper from Basic Grey Kioshi for the bottom half, added some wide grosgrain and purple twine threaded buttons to finish my design.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you are having a wonderful week. It is hard to believe it is almost the weekend again :o) Yippee!

Color Throwdown #100

Today the 100th color challenge from Color Throwdown. That means a chance to win LOTS of great prizes. One of the prizes being given away is from Tami Mayberry. Here is a peek at what you can win:

The prize pack is valued at nearly $100 and includes the following:
Gina K Designs stamps by Tami Mayberry-Happy Hearts and In Stitches
CardMakers Sketchbooks-Original, Christmas and Birthday editions.

To celebrate Tami and a few friends are sharing their creations using the Happy Hearts set combined with the Color Throwdown 100th color combo. I was thrilled when Tami asked if I would join in on this and here is my project:

The hearts in Happy Hearts vary in styles and the words she included enable you to create any phrase you would like with a fun font. I wanted a happy card so stamped the sentiment on Certainly Celery and punched it with the Word Window punch. The patterned paper is from October Afternoon and fits the Regal Rose color perfectly.

Jennie Harper (*you are here)

CAS Hugs and Prayers

A quick CAS card to share today using the stamp set Hugs and Prayers. I was so excited to see that Nina included 2 step stamping images in this set (it is a favorite of mine from when I first started stamping) and this hummingbird is beautiful. I stamped the solid image with Antique Linen (stamped off a bit beforehand) and then went over it with the outline image. The sentiment was stamped with Vivid Olive.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Our oldest son was in his All Star Tournament this weekend and his team managed to come in 3rd in their district. They did well, but were worn out from back to back games. We now have a little break in baseball for a bit which will be nice as summer is flying by. Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Color Throwdown #99

I have found a new color challenge blog.... Now I know it is not "new", but it is *new* to me :o) This is for the Color Throwdown #99 (Cream, Turquoise and Brown) and I instantly reached for Nina's set Hugs and Prayers. I think this verse is so very precious...just the perfect sentiment for a sympathy card. I stamped the solid image with Vivid Aqua and the outline image (using my SAMJ) with Vivid Coffee Bean. Added some Turquoise and Brown cardstock, a smidge of Webster's Pages patterned paper, brown wrinkled ribbon and matching Webster's Pages Turquoise Petite Embroidered trim and ta-da...finished!

I pray you have a wonderful weekend and a happy and SAFE 4th of July with your friends and/or loved ones.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs and Prayers

Gina K had another FABulous release party last night! There are so many new beautiful stamp sets and accessories (think buttons and ribbons) that my head is spinning!!! Oh my...

Hugs and Prayers is a new set illustrated by Nina Brackett and it is beautiful. For my card, I used some beautiful Webster's Pages patterned paper and did a bit of coloring, paper piecing and 2 step stamping. The possibilities with this set are endless.... As a pastor's wife, I know that God's Word brings about comfort to those that are seeking and Nina included Scripture verses in this set that are comforting truths from His Word. I tend to leave reference verses in a corner on the inside, and now can have the whole verse stamped out (thank you Nina!). By no means is this *just* a sympathy set, it will coordinate perfectly with any sentiment and I even have a scrapbook page to share next week.

I pray you have a wonderful weekend and a happy and SAFE 4th of July with your friends and/or loved ones. Our son has his district All Star tournament and our weekend involves a LOT of baseball...but hoping to work in a cookout too!
Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
