New InStyle Stamp: Carly
InStyle Stamps is releasing some new stamps tomorrow and one of them is Carly. I think she is adorable chasing after her little one. I used the paper, ribbon and button included in the Stamp Inspiration Kit and colored Carly with Copics to match. I'm have lots to do today so I am off to get busy. Have a great day!

Altered Notebook
It is my turn for another Method Monday! Did you enjoy the Blog Hop on Friday? It was a lot of fun and congratulations to Maria for winning the DT challenge, as well as to the others that won the other challenges. Today I want to feature a fun way to jazz up a little notebook (of any variety!)...I used Sasha from ISS and you can find more step by step details on the InStyle Stamps blog. When I was finished I added a few pink gems because what girl doesn't need a little bling....the end product is a handy little notebook all "girl-i-fied!" :o)) Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop
Today is a special day...the very first Blog Hop for InStyle Stamps and the Design Team has quite a bit to show! We were all challenged to use InStyle Stamp images to alter something and create a home decor item. I altered a tin I bought at Joanne's over a year ago. I covered it with designer paper and accented it with Groovy Guava Double Stitched ribbon. I am going to use it to hold bath products and this would also be a great gift idea too ...who doesn't enjoy a little Bath and Body Works products?
We all need a little pampering, right ? :o)
I stamped Sheree using Memento Black on Whisper White cardstock and then stamped it again on a piece designer paper to paper piece the tub. I colored the rest of the image with Copics. I also altered a tin candle with the matching designer paper and added a sentiment from another Polka Dots and Paisley (a retired SU set).
"Relax" was stamped using the Whimsical Alphabet and I popped it up on dimensionals. This came together very nicely and I am quite pleased :o) I added some foot cream and socks, because with warmer weather coming, the feet need extra pampering too. I am ready to get trade in the socks and shoes for flip flops!
The rest of the Design Team has some amazing projects to share so be sure to check them out! You will see a list of them on the right of my blog... I know that they have been busy creating and look forward to checking them out myself! We are asking everyone to vote on the projects by following this link---> HERE and the Design Team member with the most votes wins a prize, but that is not all...you can win something too! When you vote for your favorite, you will be entered into a drawing for a prize of your own. You can find out some more fun things over on the InStyle Stamps Forum. You can even enter to win the GRAND PRIZE by playing "Meet the DT Trivia." All you need to do is collect the answers to a list of questions about the DT and email your answers to instylebloghop@aol.com by 10pm EST to enter. How cool is that?

Sweetest Blessings~Cake
This is obviously for quite the girly birthday using the stamp set Sweetest Blessings. I just love pink! :o) I added the pearls to the scallops as an after-thought and realize I *need* more pearl stickers! The cake was colored with Copics and then popped up on dimensionals. It has been a full week here...still recovering from being out of town and getting back in the swing of things. Tomorrow is the blog hop for InStyle Stamps and I am excited about what I have to share :o)
Have a great day!

Green Digi Girl
There was a great sketch on the MFT forums last week and that is what inspired this design. I used the MFT set Digital Girl and pulled out some retired SU Designer paper (I believe it is called Afternoon Tea). I love the Wild Wasabi with the Soft Sky, just pretty! I know some have asked what "F5" means and it means to "refresh" so hope that helps :o) I am slow on the computer lingo so need help in that department too, LOL!
On Friday InStyle Stamps is having a Blog Hop featuring altered items and I am thankful to say mine is made and I am tickled with how it turned out. Be sure to stop back by and I will have more details on Friday. I know there are prizes and that is always a plus :o)
Have a great day!

Get Well Soon...
I based this card completely on the strip of designer paper...from the stripes I went with Baja Blue and Chocolate Chip and staggered the trees from Tree Silhouettes. I am trying so hard not to really love the Baja Blue color...it is one of those In Colors SU offers for one year and then retire...I REALLY don't need another color like this, but with the chocolate chip it is so pretty!
I am dropping my demonstrator status soon and need to stay strong and resist the urge for another color on a limited time frame. I will let you know if I get pulled in.. :o)
Have a great day!

Zoo Animals: Birthday Card
This card was made using one of the new stamp sets Gina K. released last week. In fact, Asela was giving away the one she designed, Zoo Animals on her blog and ...I won!!! What a happy day that was!!! It is just so cute! I love the little sayings and the font they are in... I haven't stamped much at all this week, but when I received this set I just had to take a little bit :o))) I stamped the image three times and paper pieced the different layers on top of the image to add dimension. It looks really cool and next time I will try to remember to take a side photo...
Have a great day!!!

Baby is 1!
My baby is turning one today! I am so amazed with how fast his first year has flown by... It feels like just yesterday we brought him home and now he is toddling around all over the house investigating absolutely everything. I am slowly in the process of creating a scrapbook for each of my children and starting from the very beginning is quite fun. I think I am going to have to dig out pictures of my other two when they were newborn... scrapbooking is something I resisted for years! I used a scrapbook kit from SU which helped me to put this one together, as well as a great sketch by Erika Martin. She has wonderful tips on scrapbooking and I am learning so much from her. I am off to enjoy my children today and create some more memories. Have a great day!

Retro Swirl
Carolyn King had a color challenge on StampTV last week (which was to use red, pink and black). I used Retro Boutique and the swirl from Whimsical Autumn to come up with this one. The dress was paper pieced using a piece of pink patterned dsp from SU. I was tickled with how well the swirl went with the Divine Swirl Cuttlebug folder and combined it without really thinking...I kind of went, duh, that works perfectly! :o)
Well, my youngest (almost 1 year old) is down with a double ear infection and strep throat! Absolutely NO fun! Thankfully the antibiotics will kick in soon :o)

Friendship Tea
I made this for a fun little challenge on the MFT forum on SCS. I stamped the image with Memento ink and colored it with Copics, I just love pink and yellow together, quite springy! The buttons were added at the last minute...I thought the card was needing a little something else. All in all, happy with how it turned out. Have a wonderful Monday!

Just Fry it!
InStyle Stamps just released some new images this past Wednesday. I colored Kick Butt Chuck with Copics and used Real Red and Summer Sun cardstock. I think this card would be perfect for a Chicken Wing party ;o) For the sentiment on this card, I must give credit to my witty husband who came up with it. :o) Of course, you can create any sentiment you want or use something you already have. My brother-in-law from England is coming in this weekend so I have some cleaning and cooking to do...Have a great weekend!

Pink Digital Girl
I made this card for a challenge on the MFT forum on SCS. I adore this Basic Grey Bittersweet dp, it is just a lovely pattern. Aren't MFT stamps just great for paper piecing! I also used Copics to color the desk and of course she had to have a pink computer...now that is my dream~a pink laptop! I will never get one, but I can dream ;o) Have a great day!

Best Friends
I made this for the sketch challenge on StampTV. Quite a cool sketch and I found the perfect reason to use this great new plaid dp. I love the pastel colors of it and used two Gina K. sets: The Best of Life and Warm and Fuzzy. The animals were colored with Copics and I added a little grass with a tiny little grass stamp I have from Art Impressions. Tomorrow is a new stamp release day from Gina K. and I am really interested in seeing the new set Asela designed...she had a sneak peek yesterday on her blog and it looks just delightful! Have a great day!

Daisy
The colors for this card was based completely on the scrapbook paper I recently picked up at Hobby Lobby: My Mind's Eye Orange Stripes. Speaking of which...I saw that single 12x12 scrapbook sheets are on sale 4/$1.00 this week. I wonder if I can make it there sometime this week. :o) I used Really Rust and Baja Blue cardstock and colored the daisy from Flowers for Daisy using Koh-i-Noor pencils and Goo Gone.
It is hard to believe it is Monday already! Where did the weekend go? Have a great day!

Love Is...
I made this card for a color challenge on StampTV. The challenge was to use the color pink and any neutral we chose...I made mine with Pink Pirouette and Kraft. I didn't want to cut into a new piece of cardstock so used what I had pieces of already. The cat image is from the stamp set Framed Friends and the sentiment is from the matching set Warm and Fuzzy. Have a great weekend! :o)

CAS: Caffeine is Best
This is a nice simple CAS card that I made for the challenge this week using the sets The Best of Life and My Cuppa' Joe. For the challenge we were to add dots either with a pen or paper piercing, I opted for paper piercing on the corners. I am still having a problem leaving blank space, but am trying to keep it simple! I love the semtiment...for me caffeine first thing in the morning is a MUST! It is not pretty when I don't have coffee :o)))
Have a great day!

Cupcake Flopsey
I find that combining challenges works very nicely. My Favorite Things had a fantasic Ambassdor Challenge on SCS and I thought it would go nicely with the Mojo Sketch for this week. The MFT challenge was to use Paper Piecing, Pumpkin and some Bling. I would think I got the bling taken care of, LOL! ;o)) This was my first time using Cupcake Flopsey and I see some cute cards for my daughter when she goes off to camp. Who doesn't love cupcakes?
Well, going to be quite a full day here so best get going and get to it. Have a great Thursday!

Warm Thoughts
I made this card for the Color Challenge yesterday on SCS which was to use Pixie Pink, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss. I still have some of my In Colors assortment pack so that is where the Kiwi Kiss is coming from...I really like the color, just am not a fan of buying colors available for a limited time. I have two years worth of In Colors and hate that I am hoarding the cardstock as much as I am and really can't take anymore, LOL! ;o)) Honestly, I still have a few precious sheets of Cranberry Crisp I can't bear to cut.
I had fun making this card and see a few things I would change...but I am my own worst critic. Like It a Latte is my favorite coffee set from SU and one I will keep in my collection. I am thinking of selling some SU stamp sets that are taking up space if anyone is interested... I just need time to make up my list. Going to be a busy day here...Have a great one!

Screened Trees
I made this card for the Friday Potluck Challenge on StampTV by Melanie. The challenge was themed "Split Screen"......By splitting up one large image (or several images that make up a focal point) into different pieces, you can extend your design and bring focus to different areas of the image or spotlight a special one!
I knew I wanted to use Tree Silhouettes and various shades of brown. My poor organdy bow would not lay straight so I gave up and allowed it to stay slanted...sometimes you just have to let things go LOL!
That is all for today...after the snow day yesterday, it is back to school. Have a great day!

Trust
This was a very simple card to put together..just used my Top Note die from SU and put it through the Cuttlebug and stamped my verse and floral images around it. Nice and simple with little effort...I need cards like this when I am short of time and this verse is just beautiful! This card is quite spring-like especially when you consider the fact that it is March 2 and it is snowing in NC...nearly unbelievable. I know my kids are excited to be out of school, but I am longing for spring!
Have a great day...I have a full day keeping an eye on them outside and of course our tradition of baking cookies on snow days :o)
