Welcome to the Design D.I.V.A.S Oldies, but Goodies Blog Hop!! The challenge is to create a card/project/scrapbook page using stamps or supplies that are 6 months old. Well, the first Layers of Color stamp set I bought last summer was Merci Bouquet and thought it would be perfect. I spritzed an Ivory piece of cardstock with Caribbean Blue Tattered Angels mist and stenciled the Delicious Dots art stencilusing Vivid Aqua ink. The background script is from stamped gray ink. Recently I discovered the beautiful inking qualities of Versafine Black ink which I used on the floral images, Embroidered Butterfly and sentiment. The only "new" thing on this design is the Grommet Tags from Spellbinders, oops! :o) couldn't help it, lol!

I made this for the Card Patterns Sketch 110 and used some of the new Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper I picked up at my LSS on the way home from vacation...Yes, we stopped on the way home and purely providential that Betty's LSS is on the way, my family is so patient, lol! :o) I used the Faded Jeans Stain on the Kraft paper and used my heat gun to dry the paper to this pretty blue which made the flourish on the paper just pop! The stamps are from Layers of Color with the script from The Love Chapter and the focal image butterfly is fromFlutterescent.
I was a bit MIA last week due to some R&R. We had a wonderful vacation in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The Lord blessed with beautiful weather, lots of swimming (indoor pool, lol!), zip lining, hiking, and even stopped by a great book fair for some great deals on books. Now we are refreshed and ready to get busy again... Our oldest son has his first Little League game of the season so back to the ball park for us several nights of the week.

I just had to play along with the Tuesday Trigger: Farm Fresh this week which is a fabulous combination of Orange, Aqua and White.
My inspiration came from the colors and used some Layers of Color stamps: Cottage Rose cling art stamp and The Love Chapter (for the script background). The sentiment is from Sent with Love and love that Layers of Color now has sentiment stamps. I also made this for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge whose challenge focus this week is paper piecing. I paper pieced the rose after I colored it with Copics and added some blue stickles to the center. I also spritzed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Caribbean Blue (which is such a fun product!).
Hello and I am finally back to blogging a bit since CHA!!! I had just a blast and had the best roomies ever.. it was full of laughing, happy times, calls to home, crazy weather to keep track of, and lots of oohing and ahhing over paper crafting products coming soon to paper crafters EVERYWHERE!! I have a quick card to share that I made for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Sweets for the Sweet... Oh and speaking of sweet...at CHA, I even got to meet sweet Cath and some other PC gals!!! So exciting, hope everyone gets to go to CHA at least once, it is quite a fun experience!!
Well, on to my card...
For this design, I used The Love Chapter art stamp set from Layers of Color as well as the flourish from the art stamp set Nature Walk. It worked nicely from the inspiration piece of the tissue paper within the box from the Tuesday Trigger. I distressed the edges a bit, added some Pinecone Tattered Angels mist and used the new Banner Basics One Spellbinders dies along the left.

Just a quick little card to share before I head out to catch a flight to sunny California... I made this for the Outlawz Sunday challenge which is CAS, but think I may have missed the mark a bit. I tend to add and add and by the time I am finished... it is anything but "clean and simple."

Layers of Color is sponsoring the Card Patterns 99 challenge this week and sure hope you get a chance to play along. They are offering this new stamp set The Love Chapter, illustrated by Nina Brackett. It is a beautiful set and you should just see what the others LOC designers have created with it!!! I used Graphic 45 patterned paper and kept it to a Black/Sand color combination. I stamped the beautiful script stamp along the left edge and collage of words on the patterned paper behind the focal image. The focal image within the Nestie circles is also in the stamp set.

My goals are to color better (Copic challenged here, lol!), would love to be more organized, participate in more challenges, have a goal as well to finish my Christmas cards before Thanksgiving, and certainly use those supplies that get neglected. Think I'll wait to buy that copy just a little longer! :) My craft goals like most... are to get better organized, use more of what I have, and expand my "style". I want to do all styles from elegant to vintage to cutesy and do them comfortably.

The script background and LOVE are both from The Love Chapter. The script background is I Corinthians 13:4-7 and I am particularly fond of it because you can actually READ the writing, a big plus as I am not up on my French with other backgrounds I have seen, lol! For this card, I also used Happy Wishes (for the Happy Anniversary sentiment) and Belle Brocadeart stencil. The letters for L-O-V-E are so very pretty and you can ink them up separately and stamp across....as you can see here:
For this I used the collage word stamp from the set and stamped it in two different inks to create a background. Today I am giving away The Love Chapter clear art stamp set and all you have to do is just leave a comment by midnight tonight. I will announce a random winner at 8:00 am Tuesday.

I have another Layers of Color Sneak Peek to share today. I used a beautiful script background and sentiment from The Love Chapter, as well as Flourish Crest cling art stamp (which coordinates perfectly with Spellbinders Label 14). After I stamped the script background with Memento London Fog, I stenciled using the Elegant Touch art stencil with the same ink. I am also entering this into the Moxie Fab Gray is the New Black Challenge and love the gray with pink which was inspired by Julia Stainton's card here on Moxie Fab.
