CPS233

I made this for the CPS233 sketch this week.  Clearsnap is sponsoring this week and I used Smooch Spritz in Holly Berries and Gingerale.  It is a beautiful spritz ink that gives nice coverage.  I used some stamps from Layers of Color Flutterescent and Merci Bouquet, as well as the stencil Vintage Medallion.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.
Just a heads up...Layers of Color is having a Fall Release coming very soon... Monday, September 19th to be exact!
Can't wait to share with you some projects I have been creating as well as seeing what the rest of the LOC DT has made!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Design D.I.V.A.S Blog Hop: Merci

Welcome to the Design D.I.V.A.S Oldies, but Goodies Blog Hop!!  This is the last stop in the hop and if you came from my dear friend, Linda's blog you are in just the right place, and if not, please start at the beginning HERE. The challenge is to create a card/project/scrapbook page using stamps or supplies that are 6 months old.  Well, the first Layers of Color stamp set I bought last summer was Merci Bouquet and thought it would be perfect.  I spritzed an Ivory piece of cardstock with Caribbean Blue Tattered Angels mist and stenciled the Delicious Dots art stencil using Vivid Aqua ink.  The background script is from stamped gray ink.  Recently I discovered the beautiful inking qualities of Versafine Black ink which I used on the floral images, Embroidered Butterfly and sentiment.  The only "new" thing on this design is the Grommet Tags from Spellbinders, oops! :o) couldn't help it, lol!

Thanks for hopping with us today and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Layers of Color: Merci Bouquet

I have a special card to share today that was published in the May issue of Scrap & Stamp Arts May 2011 issue!  This card uses the stamp set Merci Bouquet, which was the very first Layers of Color stamp set I purchased.  From there...well,  I just fell head first...
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thank You

Hello...I am still here just having a hard time getting back into the groove :o)  I think my mojo stayed in California.   I have been home over a week and still haven't put my craft stuff away... isn't that terrible? I certainly think so, lol!  I needed a quick thank you card and thought of keeping it to Navy and Pink since I had some pre-cut cardstock (it really took the "thinking" out of it.  Sometimes that helps when the mojo goes AWOL!!)

For this card, I used some cling art stamps from Layers of ColorBrick Wall and Garden Wall cling art stamps.  The flowers were colored with a pink Copic marker to make them stand out just a bit.  The pink panel was stenciled using the Botanical Swirls art stencil.  The sentiment is from Merci Bouquet which is the first LOC stamp set I bought...I got hooked fast :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

LOC Merci Bouquet

I was in a pink, springy mood when I created this card using  Merci Bouquet, the Delicious Dots art stencil and a little word sentiment from an upcoming LOC clear art stamp set.   I sponged over the stencil with Memento Angel Pink ink, stamped a little floral image within each oval, and colored the images with Copics.  The word "Spring" is from an upcoming set to be released next Monday from Layers of Color called Happy Wishes, isn't the font just beautiful!  The sentiment was die-cut with Beaded Ovals from Spellbinders, and lightly sponged as well.   I am looking forward to sharing some more sneak peeks though it might just be a little bit smaller.  Thinking more of a snippet for tomorrow...unless you twist my arm :o)

Here is a little info on our upcoming LOC release:

Card Patterns 87 ~ Merci

I saw the Card Patterns 87 challenge today and managed to squeeze in just a bit of stamping (amongst other things going on here today, lol!)

I used the Rose Blossom Frame Cling Art Stamp (since Layers of Color Art Stamps is now a Spellbinders Preferred Stamp Company this stamp works perfectly with Nestabilities Labels 16).  I paired the frame with the beautiful Embroidered Butterfly Cling Art Stamp and the sentiment is from the clear art stamp Merci Bouquet.  The background was created by sponging Memento Cantaloupe and Fired Brick Distress ink, and stamping the text from Nina's set Vintage Backgrounds in Rich Cocoa.

Here is a closer picture of the butterfly:

The picture doesn't show it as well, but I outlined parts of the butterfly with a Stardust pen, it really sparkles beautifully!

Layers of Color: Tuesday Trigger

The Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: Languish in Luxurious was one I just had to play along with!  An idea popped into my head right away and wouldn't let go until I put it to paper, love it when that happens.... :o)   I used Touch of Elegance to replicate the damask background on the wall and for the flowers, vase and sentiment used Merci Bouquet.  Both of these sets are Clear Art Stamps from Layers of Color

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

CP78

I made this for the Card Patterns challenge this week. I used the stamps Nature Walk, the sentiment from Merci Bouquet, and the Bella Brocade Art Stencil (all from Layers of Color). I also used Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress ink, as well as Memento Cantaloupe. The flower was stamped several times, sponged with both yellow/red ink and layered.
Here is a closer look at the way I layered the flower:

I am hoping (crossing fingers and toes) that my modem for high speed internet will come in the mail today. Our little area of the country is finally going HIGH SPEED....yippee!! I have missed blog hopping lately and looking forward to catching up on everything I have missed. Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Trigger: An Exercise in Exotic

A quick card to share today that I made with Merci Bouquet from Layers of Color. I used the colors from the Just for Fun Color Challenge and made this for the Tuesday Trigger: An Exercise in Exotic. I was inspired by the flower on the bottom of the door of the jewel box and the patterns. If you haven't seen the box, it is beautiful and oh so inspiring!! The top of the card was stenciled with the Bella Brocade (a favorite of mine) Art Stencil.

It has been a busy weekend and start of the week with special meetings at our church. The Lord blessed and we were able to spend some time with a dear couple we have known for years .... Today we start back to school (homeschool) and looking forward to more structure to our day. If you ask me in 2 months, I will be longing for a break I am sure. :o) Thanks so much for stopping by and hope to get back to commenting on blogs later today!

Layers of Color ~ Merci Bouquet

This is for my daughter who has gone (along with her brother) to camp at The Wilds this week. I wanted something girly and love the flowers in Merci Bouquet from Layers of Color. The colors on this were inspired by the color challenge from Just for Fun Stamps which is Chocolate, Orange and Yellow. There is a bit of paper piecing on this (the vase), as well as some Copic coloring on the image.

The older kids are off at camp this week so it is unusually quiet around here. Jeb is not quite sure what to do with himself and is content enough to follow us around. Every now and then you can hear him say, "Sis...Sis" and "Bu...bba." Just too cute!

I have a couple of pictures to share from this past weekend. Some dear friends from Virginia and I went to a Scrap and Stamp Art Show in Winston- Salem and got the opportunity to meet some sweet ladies... Here are two pics:

This is Linda Payne, me and Carla... Linda and Carla are current hostesses over on Stamp TV and are so very creative. We had watched a Tim Holtz demo (grunge paper, way cool!) by a staff member at the Enchanted Cottage.

Here is our entire group: Patti, Linda, Susan, Becky, Joan, Judy, Carla, Olga and myself... Just a sweet bunch of stampers. We laughed and created so many funny memories...I mean, who carries around 8 packs of nuts? I know someone who does! :o) Just too many fun stories to share and such a blessing to meet up together. Thanks ladies...can't wait until next year and hopefully even more will join us. Thanks for stopping by...

CAS Layers of Color

:I wanted to make some CAS designs using the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil and the thank you sentiment from Merci Bouquet. For both of these, I also used some Webster's Pages patterned paper and on the first card some Green Ruffle Trim.

Things have been busy around here so not much stamping time, but that is okay. :o) Our older two children leave next week for the The Wilds, a Christian camp in the mountains, and are very excited. Our sweet daughter starts counting down the days when she comes back until she can return, lol! So around here right now there is a lot of gathering/packing, as well as praying for the Lord to work in their hearts and lives through the messages from His Word that they will be hearing.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I pray you have a wonderful day!

Layers of Color ~ Merci

Just a quick CAS card to share today that I made with the stamp set Merci Bouquet from Layers of Color. There is very little stamping on this card (in fact, just what is in the circle... yep, that's it!). The large medallion you see is an art stencil called Vintage Medallion that I laid over my Soft Sky cardstock and sponged with Desert Sand Memento ink. The art stencil really makes it so easy.

Hope you had a great weekend! Our oldest son had his baseball tournament Friday night and they won the championship (woo-hoo!!!)...quite exciting for him and on his birthday which was way cool for a new 11 year old ;oP Now it is on to All Stars which starts later this week. I have been stamping when I can find the time, but nothing I can share quite yet. Hope to post a RAK card or two tomorrow ...:o) I just need to take pics and my camera chip is filled with baseball photos so hard to come by empty chip space!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Layers of Color ~ Merci Bouquet

I recently ordered some stamps from Layers of Color...(special thanks to Nina for pulling me in). They recently released Art Stencils and couldn't stand it any longer, just had to give them a try and also ordered the stamp set Merci Bouquet. The quality of the clear stamps is amazing and the stencils...oh my goodness are these fun! I have two cards to share today... For this first one, I used the Color Challenge from SCS this week which is Soft Suede, Almost Amethyst, Apricot Appeal and White. I sponged over the oval with Apricot Appeal ink and paper pieced the flowers that were stamped on Almost Amethyst, it just makes them pop so nicely.

Now to the Art Stencils....
Isn't this stencil so COOL!!! Oh my goodness... I made a CAS design using the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil. It creates a wow effect without a lot of layering, bumpiness (you know what I mean) and weight... I just laid the stencil over my cardstock and sponged over it to reveal this really cool looking medallion.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to stop back in tomorrow when Limelight Papercrafts is having another Sketch Challenge...it is a great sketch and can't wait to share my card. :o)
Blessings,
