CPS233

I made this for the CPS233 sketch this week.  Clearsnap is sponsoring this week and I used Smooch Spritz in Holly Berries and Gingerale.  It is a beautiful spritz ink that gives nice coverage.  I used some stamps from Layers of Color Flutterescent and Merci Bouquet, as well as the stencil Vintage Medallion.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.

Just a heads up...Layers of Color is having a Fall Release coming very soon... Monday, September 19th to be exact!

   Can't wait to share with you some projects I have been creating as well as seeing what the rest of the LOC DT has made!!

A Special Friend Bookmark

I made this for the Fanatical About Botanical challenge over on Moxie Fab.  I wanted to create something other than a card and was inspired by a recent bookmark that the uber creative Keri made several weeks ago which you can see HERE.  I used several Layers of Color stamp sets: Flutterescent, Artful Endearments, and Acanthus Leaves and some new inks from Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx in Leather and Honey.  It is a fabulous ink for stamping, sponging, and embossing.  I used the Honey for stenciling with the Belle Brocade art stencil and stamped the flourishes/sentiment with Leather. The butterfly was also stamped with Leather and then spritzed with Scarlet Tattered Angels Mist (for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge Challenge#101 which was to use something from your stash that you 'just had to have' cause you would use it everyday...but have forgotten about...)  And sadly, that was one of many I could have picked.  :(  Guess I need to stamp more, lol!

Friendship

I made this for the Fanatical About Botanical challenge over on Moxie Fab.   I wanted a fresh springy look to my card and kept it the color scheme to yellow, pink and green.  I used the corner stamp from the stamp set Flutterescent and added the "friendship" sentiment from Artful Endearments.  I added a bit of seam binding and embossed the Sweet Corn card base with the Cuttlebug Victoria folder.

CP117 ~ Viva Decor Embossing Creme

  I made this for the Card Patterns #117 challenge. Love the sketch and gave me a chance to try some new Embossing Cream from Viva Decor in Light Green. I stenciled it on using the Botanical Swirl Art Stencil from Layers of Color and it puffed up when I dried it with my heat gun. Such a great look and obviously going to be picking up more colors. The butterfly from Flutterescent was stamped using Rose Viva Decor Soft-Color Rose and sprinkled with very fine glitter.

CP110: Layers of Color

I made this for the Card Patterns Sketch 110 and used some of the new Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper I picked up at my LSS on the way home from vacation...Yes, we stopped on the way home and purely providential that Betty's LSS is on the way, my family is so patient, lol! :o)  I used the Faded Jeans Stain on the Kraft paper and used my heat gun to dry the paper to this pretty blue which made the flourish on the paper just pop!  The stamps are from Layers of Color with the script from The Love Chapter and the focal image butterfly is from Flutterescent. 

I was a bit MIA last week due to some R&R.  We had a wonderful vacation in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  The Lord blessed with beautiful weather, lots of swimming (indoor pool, lol!), zip lining, hiking, and even stopped by a great book fair for some great deals on books.  Now we are refreshed and ready to get busy again...  Our oldest son has his first Little League game of the season so back to the ball park for us several nights of the week.

This past weekend was VSN over on SCS and I was thrilled to be able to participate in a few of the challenges.  I made this card for the first challenge which was a sketch... and immediately thought of  the Labels One Spellbinders dies.  For cutting and embossing, I used the Grand Calibur from Spellbinders.  The square labels were such a breeze to die-cut and emboss.   The Grand Calibur cuts perfectly (no need to run through twice because some detail didn't get fully cut...will show more one that soon) and when you go to emboss, embosses deeply the very first run through!  The butterflies are from the Layers of Color stamp set Flutterescent.  I cut each one out and popped them up on a glue dot.  The patterned paper is Echo Park Springtime.

Layers of Color ~ SSCC#61

I paired one of the butterflies from the set with the Cling Art Stamp Victorian Frame.  In fact, did you know that Layers of Color is a Spellbinders Preferred Stamp Company?  We are very excited and looking forward to more great things to come from this partnership!  I also used the Belle Brocade Art Stencil along the bottom of the card.  The butterfly was stamped on patterned paper and  sponged along the edges.  Here is a close up of the butterfly:

The butterfly was stamped twice on the patterned paper and layered with pop dots.
