Happiness

I have a card to share today that I made for the Play Date Cafe Challenge using some Penny Black stamps.  The background was created by generously sponging Tim Holtz distress ink onto an ivory panel and then water stamping with Harmony (a slapstick background stamp).  The Petal Party flowers were stamped on a separate piece that had been sponged in similar fashion, trimmed, and popped up using Glue Dots.

Here is a look at the fun color challenge from PDCC:
Had a great time this weekend with some dear paper crafting friends at the CKC Charlotte show.  It was so much fun getting together and we had a blast!  Great memories ladies...  Linda had a "particular" Shell service station she wanted to go to, lol and Patti definitely KNOWS her way around Charlotte!!!  Love that! Here is pic of Linda, Patti, Olga and I at a fabulous scrapbooking store called The Stamper's Alley:

Play Date Cafe Challenge

I made this square card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge this week using some stamps that retired from Layers of Color and I *think* I saw something similar coming from Penny Black soon!!!  Eeks....  Looks like Nina Brackett's style to me :)

I stamped the image using Versamark ink and then sponged heavily with Memento ink, gently rubbing over the embossing to make it pop.  The background was stenciled using Belle Brocade (also retired, boo-hoo) using the two inks as well.  Anyone know of a damask stencil similar??  This was my hands down favorite and would love to get some for upcoming classes.  I added some Want2Scrap bling to each of the centers on the brocade that are showing as well as to the corners of the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square die.

Hope you can play along with the PDCC this week:

CAS: Thank You

A quick card I made for A Blog Named Hero Challenge #1 Play Favorites.  My son needed a quick thank you and kept the color scheme to black, white and brown using Colorbox Chestnut Roan Chalk ink from Clearsnap.
I used the Leaf and Floral Background and Year Round Sentiments two of my favorites from Hero Arts.

I am also entering this into the The Play Date Cafe Challenge:

PDCC121 ~ Sew Pretty

I recently received the beautiful stamp set Sew Pretty (from the Craft's Meow) in the mail and paired it with the Spellbinders dies Sewing Elements (both of which were designed by Nina Brackett).  Love how they work together so nicely and thinking about what other stamps I have that are sewing themed...  I used Tsukineko Memento Rich Cocoa ink and did a bit of distressing to the layers and Pink Paislee patterned paper.

I am entering this into the Play Date Cafe Challenge (PDCC121) this week:

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

PDCC44

Quick card to share today that I made using Branches4flowers from The {Stamps} of Life.  I am a *new* Club Member and just LOVE the clear stamps Stephanie has, as well as the new Colorbox Stephanie Barnard ink pads from Clearsnap.  I was a huge fan of Vivid and was sad when they discontinued the line, but not anymore!!!

For this card I used the new color challenge from the Play Date Cafe this week which I knew would go perfectly with some My Minds Eye patterned paper I had.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

PDCC91 - Gifts of Love

I made this for the Play Date Cafe Challenge.  This week the challenge is a color splash and we can choose which splash of color we would like.... I chose pink, as it is near and dear to my heart!

I used the new clear art stamp set Gifts of Love from Layers of Color.   Love this floral image and all of the lovely details.  The image was stamped and embossed with Clear Embossing powder.  I stamped the flower image a second time on pink cardstock and paper pieced the flowers to add that splash of pink.  I used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen on the center of each flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Friends

Quick card to share today that I made using some new Hero Arts stamps that I found at my LSS this past weekend.  Funny thing is we went to this stamping/scrapbooking show in Winston-Salem and the BEST stop of the day was the LSS!  The show was good...just nothing I needed I guess :)   LOVE this background stamp (Word Pops) with these fun circles.  Makes such a fab background and the flower (from Stitched Frames) is just the coolest.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Make a Splash and an Invite!

This card uses the stamp set Make a Splash and Cosmo Cricket Salt Air patterned paper.  I colored the octopus with Copics and added some Ruby Red Liquid Pearls for a bit of bling without being actual bling, lol!. The design for this card is from Theresa's sketch challenge over on Stamp TV today.  Sure hope you can play along as one random winner will win a brand new GKD stamp set of their choosing.

This card also fits the Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC80 of using Red, Orange and White:

PDCC#79

Do you like quick cards? I know I do!  I think my new found fondness for CAS designs comes from the fact that lately my crafting time is s-h-o-r-t!  Special thanks to spring...which I love because it means baseball, daughter's piano recital (yes, I actually like sitting through it, lol), nice weather, and cook-outs (also mean easy dinner, hee-hee).

I made this for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #79 which was to use the color Lime Green, Red and Grey.
Here is a pic of the PDCC79 and hope you can play along:

This card also fits the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: A Polka Dots Hullabaloo which just screamed to me to use the Circle Grid stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.   The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.

Hope you can also play along with the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger...it is a great one and so many possibilities!!

PDCC78

I made this for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #78.  Funny thing is when I stamped the Garden Wall cling art stamp with Lady Bug (red) ink and sponged it with Spun Sugar distress ink, it turned the red ink pink, lol!  Oh well, it still fits the challenge as here is the color combo:

The sentiment is from SRM Sticker Sentiments - Faith
