Sew Lovely ~ The Angel Company

I have a special card to share today made with some stamps illustrated by my dear friend Nina Brackett.  She has many stamps in the newest The Angel Company catalog.

I used the stamp sets Sew Lovely and Fancy Labels.  The patterned paper is Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden.  I paper pieced the dress popping it up on dimensionals.

If you would like to see more of the stamps Nina has designed you can download the catalog HERE (her stamps are on pages 26-37 and love the variety of styles). You can contact them by phone, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm CST at 785-212-6113 OR drop them an email at tac@theangelcompany.net, and they will connect you to a demo who will gladly take your order.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

I made this for the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge which was to create a Clean and Simple project using a rub-on or stickers.  I used the Silk Moth cling art stamp from Layers of Color and colored it with Copics.  The SRM stickers sentiment was added to a die cut from Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.

CPS228 ~ Bee-utiful Friend

I made this for the CPS228 sketch which gave me the perfect opportunity to get the new Honeysweet clear art stamp set inky.  So many stamps, so little time, sigh....:)  I kept to a yellow and black color scheme, it just seemed "right" LOL!  I used a Tim Holtz folder, which of course the name escapes me now, and I colored a Black Gelato on the dots embossed cardstock.  I simply rubbed it in with my finger over the embossing, easy~peasy.   The framed image coordinates with Spellbinders Labels Twenty, which is right up my alley.  I stamped the bee a second time, embossed and popped it up on a dimensional.  Honeysweet is indeed...SWEET!

Hope you can play along with the CPS sketch this week, it is a fun one!

Oh, Taste and See.... SSICC#99

I made this for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #99Layers of Color is sponsoring the challenge this week and the challenge is to create a card or project that depicts the sharp contrast of black and white/ivory.  I used the clear art stamp set Encouragement and paired it with the Belle Brocade art stencil.  I used Viva Decor White Embossing Creme on the stencil and love the puffy dimension it gives to the background.  The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and die cut with the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares die.

Hope you can play along over at Stampin Sister in Christ as the Encouragement stamp set is up for grabs :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Gelatos and a STV Challenge

There is a fun challenge over on Stamp TV of CASE'ing one of the Gina K. Designs DT members and this week we are CASE'ing Carolina Buchting.  I chose this card of hers to CASE: Party Like Rock Star.

For my card I used the same stamp set Live Life Loud, different sentiment (from the set), added extra layers, distressing, and created a fun background using Gelatos.   Faber-Castell makes these neat little chapstick look coloring tools called Gelatos.   A little background..."Gelatos are creamy sticks infused with brilliant color.  The color glides easily onto papers and can be dissolved with water to create watercolor effects or left to dry for vibrant burst of color.  They are acid free and odorless." ~Design Memory Craft booklet
Today I want to show how you can use them to create a fun background.

I used the orange, yellow and red Gelatos and coloring them directly onto my Tim Holtz mat as you see here...

Then I spritzed the Gelatos on the mat lightly with water...

Then simple enough, I turned my cardstock over and rubbed it directly onto the cardstock in a cirular motion.

Due to the moisture, the cardstock curled a bit, however, once you dry it with a heat gun it goes back flat again.

It creates the coolest look :o)

PDCC91 - Gifts of Love

I made this for the Play Date Cafe Challenge.  This week the challenge is a color splash and we can choose which splash of color we would like.... I chose pink, as it is near and dear to my heart!

I used the new clear art stamp set Gifts of Love from Layers of Color.   Love this floral image and all of the lovely details.  The image was stamped and embossed with Clear Embossing powder.  I stamped the flower image a second time on pink cardstock and paper pieced the flowers to add that splash of pink.  I used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen on the center of each flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Friends

Quick card to share today that I made using some new Hero Arts stamps that I found at my LSS this past weekend.  Funny thing is we went to this stamping/scrapbooking show in Winston-Salem and the BEST stop of the day was the LSS!  The show was good...just nothing I needed I guess :)   LOVE this background stamp (Word Pops) with these fun circles.  Makes such a fab background and the flower (from Stitched Frames) is just the coolest.

I stamped the butterfly onto Wild Dandelion cardstock using Memento Dandelion ink and the sentiment (Rose Bud) to create my own patterned paper.

And here is another CAS design I made with it...

For this card, I stamped the image by coloring directly on the stamp with markers and huffing.  Then I embossed the Spellbinders Labels 10 die onto White Luxury cardstock.  I then went over it with Memento Cantaloupe ink with the die still in place to create the frame.  Quite fun to do!
I am entering both of these into the Moxie Fab Stamp It! Cards Challenge.
