Happy Bird-day

Hey there...still cleaning out my craft room and managed to reward myself a bit (it is hard work you know) by taking a stamping break! 

I created some panels using scrap pieces of pastel cardstock and the stamp set Tweet of You from The Craft's Meow.  Just a fun little tip, I used the reverse side of the stamp to create the pink outline of the birdcage using Memento Angel Pink and then Black Tuxedo for the outline image.  The flourish bling is from Want2Scrap (love da bling).  

 

I am entering this into the CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week which was to use pastels and black.   I am also entering this into The Craft's Meow birthday challenge, the theme is "birthday" and thinking this will fit the bill.

 I wanted to share a card I made for a dear friend who helped us out recently. I used coffee4two from The {Stamps} of Life and was inspired by the actual gift card I bought from Starbucks (which you will see a snippet of below).  The patterned paper from Happy Day (Simple Stories) matched up with my gift card perfectly!

This past weekend I was working on lots of submission deadlines and now desperately need to clean my stamping space, it looks like a tornado hit it.  Honestly, it is to the point where I cannot create until I find some essentials, lol!

NinaB Designs Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever Nina B Designs Dream Team Blog Hop! We are so thrilled to have you join us on this very special day. My friends and I have some projects to show you that feature the Nina B Designs' Spellbinders™ Paper Arts (Home Sweet Home and Sewing Elements), The Craft's Meow Stamps, and Want2Scrap bling.

Here are my projects: 

  I used Spellbinders Sewing Elements, The Craft's Meow Sew Lovely stamp set and Want2Scrap Borders.  It is hard to believe it is only one stamp and that being the sentiment.  These dies are just amazing and I lightly sponged them with Memento Bamboo Leaves and Desert Sand.

I also made a quick circle card using Spellbinders Home Sweet Home, Want2Scrap Borders, and sentiment stickers from SRM Stickers.  

This was so much fun to put together and love this little house.  The patterned paper is Echo Park Splash.

Exciting News!!!

 I am beyond excited to share some wonderful news that I have been sitting on for quite some time....I am on Nina B. Designs new Design Team!!!  If you have been a follower for long, you know that I love Nina's style of illustration and have been a fan of Nina's stamp designs for years.  I was blessed to meet her in 2011 at CHA and to call her friend.  Obviously when she asked if I would join her new design team, I jumped at the unique opportunity.  I am excited to see what the future will bring as this is a new door that the Lord has opened.  

I am so honored to be a part of this fabulous design team and amazed to be included with such a talented group of ladies.  Thank you Nina for this opportunity!

Today I have a card to share that I made with her stamp set Sew Lovely from The Craft's Meow:

I used my Scor-Pal to create a grid and was inspired for the colors by the Clearsnap  Sweet Pin Challenge.  I used Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Blackberry, Orchid Pastel and Lime Pastel.  Funny thing is...the photo corner piece is strategically placed as I had a slight smudge that was driving me nuts and gave an opportunity to improvise. Love those moments...not the smudge part, but when I can cover it up!

First up today is Melanie's newest stamp set Wild Flowers:

I stamped the flowers with Versamark and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder before applying some Gelatos.  This set is just beautiful and coordinates perfectly with Wild at Heart.

Next up is the newest set from Tami's newest stamp set Masculine Tags...

I sponged the edges of Ivory cardstock and GKD Patterned Paper Pack Pool Side.  I gently sponged the patterned paper as well as I wanted it just a touch darker and the Tim Holtz Tea Dye blended in just wonderfully.  Love the masculine feel to this new stamp set!

PDCC121 ~ Sew Pretty

I recently received the beautiful stamp set Sew Pretty (from the Craft's Meow) in the mail and paired it with the Spellbinders dies Sewing Elements (both of which were designed by Nina Brackett).  Love how they work together so nicely and thinking about what other stamps I have that are sewing themed...  I used Tsukineko Memento Rich Cocoa ink and did a bit of distressing to the layers and Pink Paislee patterned paper.
