Exciting News and Blog Candy!!!

I have some really exciting news to share...  Have you seen the newest issue of magazine...eeks, I am in there three times!!!  I am obviously over the moon excited and can still hardly believe it.   I like to set goals or challenges for myself and as 2009 was ending I made a few paper crafting goals.  One of those goals was to be published in CardMaker magazine.  It is one of my favorites due to the variety and I  love the big pictures of the projects...just so you know AJ, Tami and Melanie are in this issue too!  I am amazed at how the Lord has blessed this little paper crafting hobby of mine.   I had no idea making a card way back in 2000 (at the time I didn't see the big deal) and then being officially bit by the stamping bug in 2005, would morph into the opportunities I have now.  AND next week I leave for CHA in California where I will be representing Layers of Color,  get to hang out with Nina, Jessica, and Janice, meet some amazing people, and even "ooohh and ahhh" over all of the new product coming to soon to those of us that paper craft!!

Oh...you probably want to see a card right??  Well, here is one that I have in this issue...  I used Fairy Tales and originally created this card for a girl in our church...gave it away, and then wouldn't you know it...it got accepted so had to make another one.  :o) I learned from that one, lol!

On to some more exciting things...  I am giving away a copy of this newest issue of CardMaker magazine and the newest set by Tami Mayberry, Hopeful Hearts:

All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me a paper crafting goal of yours...  It can be anything from big to hey, just clean up my table after I stamp (that's another one of mine..hee-hee).  You have until Sunday night at 11:59 pm to leave a comment and I will draw a random winner on Monday morning.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Blessings,

How exciting, Jennie! So happy for you! My goal this year is to spend more time doing what I enjoy most - papercrafting! I haven't really done many challenges and only submitted ONE card last year, so you've inspired me to get my art out there! P.S. - your little froggie get well card is SO cute - great job!

Jennie, I am so excited for you. I love your little froggie card. One of my goals is to send the cards I make to encourage someone and bless their lives. The other goal I have is to be content. I do have to say with all the lovely LOC stamps, that makes the second goal harder to accomplish!

Congratulations Jennie!!! I am SO happy for you!! Fantastic card!!
A goal I have is to get published as well, I've tried a couple of times but I need to get more serious I think!

Congratulations. You are so deserving. Thank you for a chance to win such wonderful blog candy. My goal for 2011 is to be more organized and make all my cards well in advance of when I need them, rather than at the last minute.

Congratulations. I got my copy of mag the other day and I need to go back and find your cards. How fabulous that must feel. My goal is to use the supplies I have and slow down on purchasing new things constantly.

Congratulations Jennie! I just got my issue the other day and saw your cards! I really like the Easter card. My goal is to win a contest/challenge with a card that is not just by random drawing. And also to clean my stamping space, lol

I am always so inspired by your work. I just started stamping and really enjoy it when I get the chance. I bought stamps last Spring but did not get to use them
until mid-December because of "life" and I was intimidated because I don't always think I can do it. One of my goals is to learn to color with copics and I am taking a class from Jennie Black in March. Since I am a single mom, with three children at home, I would like to be able to use my stamping to produce some income but also as a way to bless others.

Big time congratulations, Jennie! And what an adorable card -- I can just hear the excitement in your writings! My goal for the next year is to get my craft room back and all my "stuff" out of the storage facility -- I had to move into a closet when we put the house on the market.

Joan said...

Congrats, Jennie! I'm gonna pick up my copy Friday while I wait for Pete at VA.
One of my goals is to reorganize my room...I'm never satisified with it and to also get back to entering the challenges.

So glad your giftedness is shared with others of us via magazines or blogs -- kind of us being blessed by your blessing! My crafting goal is to use what I have before going out and getting more. (Fortunately, I got a nice craft store gift card for Christmas that I will use when my discipline weakens!!)

My goal is to use some of the items that are currently unused in my craft room.

Three big Cheers for you Jennie!!! Congrats! I can't wait until my copy gets here, maybe today. I have to agree with you that I would love to be able to clean up after each card. My biggest goal is to get published but I don't have the courage to try yet.

Congratulations on the 3 cards in the one issue. You deserve this recognition for your great work. What a great start to the new year! One of my goals is to be copic trained and certified but no class seems to be near enough in the near future. Guess I will just keep trying to teach myself until I learn. Also would like to be published some day, some time, some year....will have work on that too.

Hi Jennie,
A goal for me is to be a GD on a couple of sites I love, and to win a Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge!! The later one seems to me to be the most difficult, but I have 48 weeks or so to keep trying :-)

Congrats on being published in the magazine! It's a great thing! My goal would be to write a book about cardmaking since there are almost none in Romania... well... you somethimes find some but there are in english so I think it would be nicer to have also in romanian. But this is a big goal, I don't know if I will manage this challenge!

Congratulations! How wonderful for you. I'm not surprised at all. You are so talented. My papercrafting goal for this year is to start scrapbooking. I have been making cards for over ten years, but for some reason have been intimidated to try scrapbooking. I have been buying paper to scrapbook for years. Hopefully this year I will get some pictures on my paper collection.

Carol said...

My goal is similar to yours. I had one card published last year and want to pursue that to a greater extent this year. I just found out that I will have 4 cards published in the new Cricut Magazine April/May 2011 Issue and that has given me a renewed energy.

Congratulations!!! How exciting to be a published artist! I had this issue in my hand yesterday but ended up not getting it. Well, I want to go back and get it now. I love to see projects by people I 'know'. This is a very cute card, too. My goal is to give more cards. For occasions or just because or just gift them to a friend so she can use them. Hope CHA is a blast for you!

My goal this year is to teach some card classes. I have been offered the opportunity to teach 2 classes a month at my favourite local craft store plus a big class on using an electronic die cutter.
I am determined to actually get it together and do it!!
I'd make it a goal to clean my table every time I finish stamping but it hasn't happened yet and probably never will so rather than make a goal I won't keep I just Wong make that one. Lol
