Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #81

I made this for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge which this week is Ferris Buellers Day Off CSCC#81. I knew that the new Stars stamp set illustrated by Tami Mayberry would be just perfect with the *Rock Star* sentiment (thinking of all of the great music in the film). Since Ferris is skipping school, I thought the spiral punch would work as Ferris was looking to avoid anything remotely related to school that day :o) The sentiment is framed within one of the label stamps from Lovely Labels, and the patterned paper is The Thrift Shop from October Afternoon.

On the inside I used the sentiment, You're my Hero (a quote from the movie) from Masculine Messages and stamped a few stars as well....

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It is Sketch Girls challenge time... and Leigh Ann has another fab sketch with so many possibilities. I fancied mine up a bit and added lots of layers and kept it to purple/ivory and black using one of the newly released sets from Gina K. Designs Botanicals.

Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge #48

Welcome to the Limelight Sketch challenge this week. It has been fun being the Guest Designer for Limelight Papercrafts this month :o) Mandy has a wonderful store and a fabulously creative Design Team... speaking of which, you probably came from Jen Marie's blog and already know that the focus for this weeks' sketch is FUZZ and FLUFF! I used the Unity Kit of the Month set Super Sweet & Stuck on You and some Webster's Pages patterned paper. The owl was paper pieced with the same patterned paper and highlighted lightly with Copics. I added some Caramel Latte Tan Fun Flock which really adds so much to this adorable owl.

Here is the sketch this week:

I do hope you can play along! One lucky winner will receive a package Coco Bloomers from Webster's Pages. Oh these are so pretty!!!

Next stop... Lisa A

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the hop!!!

Sweet Thanks...

This was a fun little card to make using a favorite sweet treat image...ice cream! Oh yeah, as we near the hot summer months nothing quite hits the spot like ice cream :o) I used the stamp set 100% Sweet and some October Afternoon patterned paper. I was surprised with how quickly it came together and just had to adjust the sentiment a bit due to a stupid smudge on my part... Man, I hate it when I am finished with a card, getting ready to take a picture and THEN notice a smudge...Gggrrr... Can't blame anyone though, it was clearly "moi!"

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a wonderful day!!!

Webster's Pages

The sketch for this card is from Card Patterns, (CP65). I made this for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #80. The movie this week is Becoming Jane and in addition to being inspired by the movie, we were to use pearls and flowers on our project. Now to clarify, I have not seen this movie yet...but love Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility (and plan on checking this one soon!) I know in the latter mentioned two movies the fabric for the dresses/drapery/furniture is so beautiful and used some Webster's Pages patterned paper as well as a Webster's Pages Coco Bloomer for my card.

I used the two different stamp sets: Lovely Labels and Sew Pretty, as well as some Crochet Natural Lace, which I sponged with Cocoa ink to distress it a bit so it would blend in with the patterned paper. I sponged the edges of the layers with distress ink: Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy, so it also fits for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #60 this week. Hey Patti and Olga...I am combining challenges again, lol! I love it when you go to make a card and by the end you...LOVE it! That is how it is with this one.... :o) I do not mean to sound prideful at all, just love how all of the elements came together...
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Trigger: Frills and Thrills

The colors for this were inspired by the colors in the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab Blog. I loved the blue/peach color combo and used some Webster's Pages patterned paper and layered some Delicate Pink Trim with some Crochet Trim. I used the one of the labels from Lovely Labels and the flower and sentiment are both from Elegant Flowers. The edges of the Luxury Ivory cardstock were lightly sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink.

Card Patterns 63

I made this using the Card Patterns sketch this week. I used some of the beautiful Webster's Pages patterned paper as well as this gorgeous Green Ruffle Trim and Crochet Trim Natural (which I lightly sponged with Antique Linen ink. This beautiful ribbon and Webster's Pages can be found at Limelight Papercrafts and I just love Mandy's fast shipping! ...just a hint on the ribbon....you need 2 yards, at least! One yard is just enough to make yourself mad! :oP) I used a variety of stamps from Gina K. Designs: the label from Lovely Labels, the image is from Sew Pretty, and the sentiment from Thanks a Million. I stamped the paper flowers with two patterns from Vintage Backgrounds, sponged with Antique Linen and layered a Glitter Sparkler on top. My card base is Soft Sand and layered the patterned paper with Fresh Asparagus.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Guess Who??

Just a couple of quick projects to share. Limelight Papercrafts sells Unity and this cute owl and sentiment is from the April Kit of the Month Super Sweet & Stuck on You. I used a similar sketch to one on Card Patterns a couple of weeks ago and love this Jillibean Soup patterned paper: Old World Cabbage Stew Head of Cabbage. I colored the owl just a bit with Copics.

This second card I made for the Go To Sketch Challenge #2 over on Papercrafts Connection and was actually one of the winners (totally shocked!!)... I ended up picking the recently released Go To Sketches issue since I never could find it in my area stores.
I used some more gorgeous Webster's Pages patterned paper and created an embellishment from the Green Ruffle Ribbon. Just love this ribbon and know you will be seeing LOTS of it here....

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Trigger: Inspiration That's in the Bag

I made this for the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab blog. This week Nina brought the Tuesday Trigger inspiration piece which was this fabulous bag that is just so cute and handmade....gonna have to check those out next time I am purse shopping!

I used the stamp set Vintage Backgrounds for the dots and the flower/sentiment is from the Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit. I stamped the flowers using Memento Rich Cocoa on Ivory cardstock and sponged them with Regal Rose ink coloring the center with a yellow Bic marker. After I cut them out, I sponged the edges of each with a little more Regal Rose ink and used a Stardust pen to highlight just a bit of each flower. I adore the purse inspiration this week and was inspired not only by the colors and flowers, but the dots!!! :o)
Isn't this purse just oh so CUTE!!!!

Hope you had a great Mother's Day yesterday... Mine was just delightful and ended up getting a whole weekend of celebration which included special time out shopping with my daughter on Saturday. Nothing in this world compares with being "mom!"
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful week!

Quite a Catch Blog Hop

I am so excited about sharing my project for the Quite a Catch Blog Hop tonight! When I saw the stamp set Quite a Catch, I knew that one of the first things I wanted to make was a Diorama Card. Mine is a little taller than what the measurements are on this Diorama Card Tutorial (by Diana Gibbs). I think this is just the cutest stamp set ever and had the hardest time figuring out which one to feature...so chose two! :o) I also used some stamps from Gifts From the Sea and the the waves and sun from Oh Boy!

Here is a close-up of an inside angle.

Diorama Cards are VERY easy to make and I didn't use the standard circle punches that is in the actual tutorial, but used the Big Scallop Rectangle sets (small and large) to create my window. If you make one...I would love to see it so be sure and leave me a link so I can check it out!

For more inspiration, visit these designer's blogs tonight for even more samples with the Quite a Catch stamp set:
And to see all of the adorable samples in the StampTV gallery, check out this link: quiteacatch

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Limelight Papercrafts: Bouquet of Flowers

Today I have something special to share that I made for the Limelight Papercrafts project challenge. It is exciting to be part of the DT for the month of May and the theme this month is BOUQUETS. We could create a bouquet of anything... with a matching card.

I immediately thought of a Streamer Flower tutorial Carolyn King shared on her blog back in April. I stamped the flower image from the April Unity KOM on the streamer prior to running it through my Cuttlebug with a scallop circle die (hard to see in this picture, but that is the hint of yellow you *might* see, lol!). I also recycled some of that pretty tissue paper Mandy wraps each Limelight Papercrafts order (don't we love the careful way she wraps the orders to ship.... and the tissue is lime!). I thought the flowers could use a little hint of green so added two layers to each flower. The sticks that are holding the flowers are just grilling skewers I picked up from the dollar store and tied on some lime green ribbon on each to act as leaves.

For the card, I used some of the same Jillibean Soup patterned paper that I used on a card I shared yesterday, Old World Cabbage Stew Spring Onions. The colors are so springy and I am loving the green/yellow color combo. This was a real fun project to put together and now I have a dozen flowers for future projects!

I hope you have enjoyed this little floral project and be sure to check out what the Design Team over at Limelight Papercrafts came up with...I'm hoping there is chocolate somewhere along the way :o)

Don't Worry...

I made this for the CPS challenge last week and realized I never did share it here on my blog... I used the fun background set from Nina: Vintage Backgrounds and the fun looking fish and sentiment is from Quite a Catch. The expression of this fish makes me laugh out loud, just so cute with those big eyes and sagging mouth. He was paper pieced using Basic Grey Lime Rickey, which coordinates nicely with Turquoise Sea. I have been working on a fun project using Quite a Catch, but can't share it quite yet.... but will soon :o)

It has been a tough few days. My kids starting having colds and such the beginning of last week and I thought I was in the clear until.......Sunday. It hit with a vengeance and as much as new stamps were calling my name, the bed called louder and ultimately won. I still can't shake the fever so really hoping today it will just go away... Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
