CardMaker Blog Hop

Welcome to the CardMaker Blog Hop! Today the theme is Metallic Inspirations and we were challenged to create a card that is shiny and sparkly.  This was fun as I am not a sparkly kind of girl, so it was good to be challenge outside of my normal comfort zone. For my metallic, I used Good as Gold card stock and Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink. The ivory panel was die cut with an ornament  die and embossed with an embossing folder (Valor M-Bossibilities).  Then, I sponged the panel with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and layered it onto a stamped Good as Gold layer which was stamped with a Christmas Story, which you *may* be able to see it in this close up behind the ornament:

The ornament image is from Hanging Treasures, stamped with Golden Glitz, die cut and layered in the center.  A few pearls and ta-dah...done!
Be sure to check out the inspiration from the rest of the team.  I know that I am looking forward to seeing the sparkly cards everyone has created!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

October NinaB Designs Blog Hop

Welcome to the monthly NinaB Designs team blog hop. NinaB Designs is a product designer for a few paper crafting companies including Spellbinders, Want2Scrap, Penny Black, and The Craft's Meow. For this month's hop, Nina challenged the team to create an ornament or tags, which will come in handy in the upcoming holidays.

The holidays provide many opportunities for paper crafters to give an extra personal touch to every occasion.  Whether you are doing place cards for a dinner, tags for gift giving or even just hand made projects using your supplies on hand, it is a blessed season indeed!

Today I have two projects to share that I try to make before the craziness of December hits.  First is an ornament using Penny Black Hanging Treasures and Penny Black Madison Paper Pack.

I stamped the ornament 4 times on a piece of patterned paper from the Madison Paper Pack using Clearsnap Strawberry ink.  Then die cut each stamped ornament using the coordinating Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments die.  I scored down the center of each ornament using my Scor-Buddy and glued them together with Zip Dry glue. I added some twine and a heart charm...here is a close-up of the ornament stamped onto the pale blue polka dot patterned paper:

These would be fun to make with kids!!!

Next, I wanted to share some tags I made using the same Madison Paper Pack, the tree die from Sweet Folk Art and a sentiment from Peace on Earth (a beautiful new stamp set illustrated by Nina for Penny Black).  I die cut the tree and layered it onto a die Labels 10 (which was embossed with a Polka Dot folder).

It was very easy to create several in a short amount of time!

Here are the products I used for my ornaments and tags:
