CPS Sketch and a B'day

I have two cards to share today...
The first is for the Card Postioning Systems sketch this week which has Gina K. Designs as their sponsor, now how great is that??? I love the sketch and thought of doing a butterfly card, but saw some were thinking the same so came up with this which uses the fun set Framed Friends illustrated by Asela. My favorite color combo ever is pink and brown and this definitely fits the bill. :o)

I have one more card to share today...for my hubby. I used a few sets for this one: Calendar Grid, Calendar Bits and Pieces and the clock from Timeless Treasures...

Today he turns FORTY.... How is he forty? Nah, just teasing, forty isn't that old! The closer I get to it the younger is seems, right??? Don't answer if you are in your low 20's... Thankfully I am younger than him and can give him a hard time (which I do....) hee-hee...
When the Lord called him to our first church (back in 1995) we had only been married a year and the young girls in the church thought I was his daughter...yep, too funny! LOL! Happy Birthday babe, I love you!!!
Hope you have a great day!
Blessings,

Merry Christmas

I made this card using a sketch from Stamp TV from the latter part of November. I just love the layers of this card and in this case "crooked" works for me. :o) The Moxie Fab Challenge is Christmas in the Old Country and I think this fits for that theme.

I like the Kraft cardstock with the Real Red and Chocolate Chip. Not the typical Christmas colors, but it works. I used Nina's stamp set Vintage Borders to create the background for the focal image and love the various languages of Merry Christmas. I also used Tami Mayberry's set Calendar Bits and Pieces for the snowflake and sentiment. All in all a very easy card to put together.
Blessings,

Christmas Calendar Card

Just a quick little card to share today. I made this for the color challenge over on STV to use Green, Red and Gold. If you are looking for the gold, it is in the ribbon (little flecks...that counts, right???) I used Calendar Grid and Calendar Bits and Pieces from Tami Mayberry. This was so fast to make and honestly as far behind as I am in making Christmas cards, will be throwing some of these together this weekend!

Have a wonderful day!
Jennie

CPS144

I really enjoy doing the CPS Challenges each week and this one was really fun to create. Square cards have always been a favorite of mine and yet I seldom make one... I combined some of Tami Mayberry's stamp sets: Calendar Bits and Pieces, Calendar Grid and Special Delivery to create this Happy Holidays card. I used some older Basic Grey Figgy Pudding designer paper which is just a favorite of mine even though it is older.

The family is recovering from their colds and whatnot. So thankful for that, this has been a LONG week. It turns out my youngest has had an ear infection. Poor thing... I took him to the doctor late yesterday afternoon and so glad I did, now he can get better :o)

I hope you have a delightful weekend! I have a Christmas party event tonight and I intend to wrap presents and work in some serious stampin' time this weekend. :o)
Blessings,

My Love Always

I wanted to make a card for the Limelight Sketch Challenge this week (which was to incorporate patterned paper) and combined it with the Color Challenge over on STV to make a card using monochromatic colors. It was also an excuse to set aside my Christmas stamps to create something different and so I went with a Valentines theme using the stamp sets Calendar Grid and Calendar Bits and Pieces from Tami Mayberry. This stamp set is truly a year round stamp set and the sky is the limit to all of these word combinations. I chose to create a Valentines card for my hubby. He loves all shades of brown so this will be perfect!

This is going to be a very busy week for me so stamping time will be limited a bit. We have a tradition of decorating the Christmas tree on the night December 1st and it will be here before I know it! So if it is silent here this week, you will know why.... I am LOST in lights, ornaments, wrapping paper and bows! Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Calendar Bits and Pieces Blog Hop

In October, I received an email from Tami Mayberry asking if I would be her guest designer for her next stamp set... What other answer is there than..."Eeeks, I would LOVE to!" Her first set Special Delivery is a favorite of mine and I knew whatever she had up her sleeve would be wonderful so of course I wanted in on it! She has outdone herself with Calendar Bits and Pieces. and Calendar Grid (which you can also get the grid in a digital form if you prefer). Not only is this set perfect for calendars, but cards, scrapbook pages, altered art... you name it, it fits! Some dear friends recently had a party celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary and I just knew this set would be perfect! Little did I know that the calendar layout for the month of November was the same in 1959 as 2009...How cool is that!?! I wanted to commemorate their years together with my design so this is what I came up with...

I so enjoyed making this card and am thrilled with the result...(I don't mean to sound prideful, it just came out better than I envisioned). :o) I even worked in some images from Timeless Treasures and Good as Gold cardstock for their Golden Anniversary! I made a little gift card holder using the Labels One Nesties for a fun treat for the happy couple!
