Dear Friend

Just a quick little card to share before I head out to catch a flight to sunny California...  I made this for the Outlawz Sunday challenge which is CAS, but think I may have missed the mark a bit.  I tend to add and add and by the time I am finished... it is anything but "clean and simple."

I used the Warbler cling art stamp as well as The Love Chapter, Sent with Love and the Natural Flourish art stencil.  Just love how all of these stamps and stencils coordinate together.

Well, I am off to represent Layers of Color at CHA.  Thanks so much to Laura for this amazing opportunity, you are a blessing and such an encouragement to your Design Team!  It will be an exciting several days and I am looking forward to meeting some dear online friends (in real life), hanging out with blogging buddies, and seeing some exciting new products available soon!  I will be back sometime after CHA with hopefully some fun pictures to share!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Warbler

A quick card to share that I made using Warbler and Happy Wishes from Layers of Color.  I stamped directly onto Webster's Pages patterned paper and wrapped with lace and wrinkled ribbon.  I have found a wonderful Shabby Wrinkled Ribbon seller on Etsy and if you are looking for some...PraireBirdBoutique!  Her store is loaded with yummy ribbon and tags!  She offers wonderful service, super fast shipment, beautiful wrapping and the ribbon is gorgeous!  I have ordered twice since finding her and she does offer free shipping for $25 or more.  Quite a great deal on Shabby Wrinkled Ribbon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Winner and Card Patterns 99

Layers of Color is sponsoring the Card Patterns 99 challenge this week and sure hope you get a chance to play along.  They are offering this new stamp set The Love Chapter, illustrated by Nina Brackett.  It is a beautiful set and you should just see what the others LOC designers have created with it!!!  I used Graphic 45 patterned paper and kept it to a Black/Sand color combination.  I stamped the beautiful script stamp along the left edge and collage of words on the patterned paper behind the focal image. The focal image within the Nestie circles is also in the stamp set.

Thank you so much for all of the comments and I certainly have a LOT in common with so many of you!!  My goals are to color better (Copic challenged here, lol!), would love to be more organized, participate in more challenges, have a goal as well to finish my Christmas cards before Thanksgiving, and certainly use those supplies that get neglected.  So many great goals!  On the submission one...all of your should definitely submit!!  It is worth a try and with so many publication calls being electronic now so easy to do.  I am pulling for you all and be sure to pop in and let me know when one gets accepted...I want to see!!!

AND the WINNER is:

God has blessed you greatly and you are using it for His glory! Love your cute froggy card! Your candy is wonderful too! Think I'll wait to buy that copy just a little longer! :) My craft goals like most... are to get better organized, use more of what I have, and expand my "style". I want to do all styles from elegant to vintage to cutesy and do them comfortably.
Thanks for the chance to win this aweseome set too!!!

Exciting News and Blog Candy!!!

I have some really exciting news to share...  Have you seen the newest issue of magazine...eeks, I am in there three times!!!  I am obviously over the moon excited and can still hardly believe it.   I like to set goals or challenges for myself and as 2009 was ending I made a few paper crafting goals.  One of those goals was to be published in CardMaker magazine.  It is one of my favorites due to the variety and I  love the big pictures of the projects...just so you know AJ, Tami and Melanie are in this issue too!  I am amazed at how the Lord has blessed this little paper crafting hobby of mine.   I had no idea making a card way back in 2000 (at the time I didn't see the big deal) and then being officially bit by the stamping bug in 2005, would morph into the opportunities I have now.  AND next week I leave for CHA in California where I will be representing Layers of Color,  get to hang out with Nina, Jessica, and Janice, meet some amazing people, and even "ooohh and ahhh" over all of the new product coming to soon to those of us that paper craft!!

Oh...you probably want to see a card right??  Well, here is one that I have in this issue...  I used Fairy Tales and originally created this card for a girl in our church...gave it away, and then wouldn't you know it...it got accepted so had to make another one.  :o) I learned from that one, lol!

On to some more exciting things...  I am giving away a copy of this newest issue of CardMaker magazine and the newest set by Tami Mayberry, Hopeful Hearts:

All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me a paper crafting goal of yours...  It can be anything from big to hey, just clean up my table after I stamp (that's another one of mine..hee-hee).  You have until Sunday night at 11:59 pm to leave a comment and I will draw a random winner on Monday morning.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Now, if you came from Janice's blog you are in the perfect place and if you didn't...well you can go HERE to start at the very beginning.  I have two cards to share tonight and they both use images from the stamp set The Love Chapter:

The script background and LOVE are both from The Love Chapter.  The script background is I Corinthians 13:4-7 and I am particularly fond of it because you can actually READ the writing, a big plus as I am not up on my French with other backgrounds I have seen, lol!  For this card, I also used Happy Wishes (for the Happy Anniversary sentiment) and Belle Brocade art stencil.  The letters for L-O-V-E are so very pretty and you can ink them up separately and stamp across....as you can see here:

For this I used the collage word stamp from the set and stamped it in two different inks to create a background.

Today I am giving away The Love Chapter clear art stamp set and all you have to do is just leave a comment by midnight tonight. I will announce a random winner at 8:00 am Tuesday.

**The winner needs to email me their mailing info. within 24 hours to claim their set or I will pick a new random winner.  So be sure to check back in tomorrow to see if you won.

CSS Blog Hop: Color Challenge

Welcome to another CSS Blog Hop! If you came from Jen's blog you are in the right place and if you didn't you will want to start HERE (at Betty's).  Carolina challenged us to make a project using these colors:

Here is what I came up with:

I used the stamp set Gleefully Yours illustrated by Nina Brackett and was inspired by a card I saw in which she stamped the musical score over the piano. LOVE that!  I used Red Hot, Fresh Asparagus, and the yellow patterned paper is from October Afternoon Thrift Shop.  I know you can barely see it, but I stamped a musical Treble and Bass Clefs along the left edge in red on the red cardstock (looks much better in person!)  Next stop on the hop is the uber talented Karen....can't wait to see what she came up with!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Layers of Color: Love

I have another Layers of Color Sneak Peek to share today.  I used a beautiful script background and sentiment from The Love Chapter, as well as Flourish Crest cling art stamp (which coordinates perfectly with Spellbinders Label 14).  After I stamped the script background with Memento London Fog, I stenciled using the Elegant Touch art stencil with the same ink.  I am also entering this into the Moxie Fab Gray is the New Black Challenge and love the gray with pink which was inspired by Julia Stainton's card here on Moxie Fab.

The rest of the LOC DT will have sneak peeks to share throughout the week so be sure to pop in on them:

You Brighten My Day!

Smile is the newest Free with Three stamp set from Gina K. Designs and I knew it would be perfect for the Bright and Bold Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week in the Moxie Fab World.  I had in my mind what I wanted to do and pulling together the colors was going to be key...orange is not a color I am drawn to at all, but must say with the pink, I LOVE it!  I am officially embracing the orange, lol!

LOC Sneak Peek

Time for a another sneak peek of the upcoming Layers of Color release.  This beautiful bird stamp is called Warbler and it is a beautiful cling art stamp that is illustrated by the LOC owner and artist Laura and it is a beauty to behold, is it not!  The sentiment is from Happy Wishes art stamp set which is illustrated by our new illustrator, Nina Brackett.  I stamped the bird using Memento Cantaloupe ink on Ivory cardstock and the sentiment with Fired Brick distress ink. The really neat thing about the sentiments...they are clear stamps, so you can be precise in where you place it!  I used a little October Afternoon patterned paper and wrapped it with some ribbon.  We are on a serious countdown to the release now and couldn't be more excited!!!

The rest of the LOC DT will have sneak peeks to share throughout the week so be sure to pop in on them:

LOC Merci Bouquet

I was in a pink, springy mood when I created this card using  Merci Bouquet, the Delicious Dots art stencil and a little word sentiment from an upcoming LOC clear art stamp set.   I sponged over the stencil with Memento Angel Pink ink, stamped a little floral image within each oval, and colored the images with Copics.  The word "Spring" is from an upcoming set to be released next Monday from Layers of Color called Happy Wishes, isn't the font just beautiful!  The sentiment was die-cut with Beaded Ovals from Spellbinders, and lightly sponged as well.   I am looking forward to sharing some more sneak peeks though it might just be a little bit smaller.  Thinking more of a snippet for tomorrow...unless you twist my arm :o)

Gina K. Designs Sneak Peek Day 4

Welcome to the another morning of previews for Gina K Designs January Release and the exciting thing is ALL of the stamps from the previews will be available tonight for purchase at 10 pm (CST)!!!

The first is the newest set illustrated by Nina Brackett, called Gleefully Yours:

I adore the piano image in this set... My daughter has taken piano for years and there is nothing quite as sweet to the ear as hearing her practice. The card base is In the Navy and I also used Ivory and Webster's Pages patterned paper. After I stamped and die-cut the image I sponged it with Antique Linen.

My next card uses the *new Free with Three stamp set, Smile:

...and when you see the adorable images and sentiments that is exactly what is brings about...a SMILE!  It is a nice group of three trees and for this I did a little masking and paper piecing.

For even more samples of the upcoming release, please check out these participating designer's blogs:
Make sure to leave a comment on each blog while you are blog hopping today. Gina is giving away FOUR of these sets and will announce the winners tomorrow on her blog entry just before the party. Each blog you comment on will count as an entry so you will have lots of chances if you comment on all of the blogs!
We'd also like to invite you to attend our Release Party TONIGHT starting at 7 pm central on StampTV. There will be challenges, contest questions, and more samples from our designers on all the new stamp sets being released this month.

Gina K. Designs Sneak Peek Day 3

Welcome to the third day of the previews for Gina K Designs January Release!  Today the GKD Design Team is previewing the Sent with Love Stamp TV Kit...

There are so many cute stamps and sentiments in this set that you will find more uses than just "love" for your sweetheart (even though this kit is awful sweet for that!!!)  I used Ocean Mist, Bubblegum Pink and Ivory cardstock and paired it with some My Mind's Eye patterned paper.  The circles were die-cut the Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities and I added some dimension by popping the images up on dimensionals (even the little envelope is paper pieced to keep its' nice crisp whiteness).  Let me tell you...that little bird and birdhouse is so stinkin' cute!! Definitely a favorite of mine ...

Remember to leave a comment on each blog for lots of chances to win a Stamp TV Kit of your own.  Gina is giving away TWO of these fabulous kits and will announce the winner on her blog tomorrow!!!  Each blog you comment on will count as one entry so you will have lots of chances if you comment on all of the blogs!!

We'd also like to invite you to attend our Release Party Thursday, January 6th starting at 7 pm central on StampTV. There will be challenges, contest questions, and more samples from our designers on all the new stamp sets being released this month.

Gina K. Designs Sneak Peek Day 2

Welcome to the second day of the previews for Gina K Designs January Release!  The GKD DT is previewing two upcoming stamp sets: Dino-Mite and Hopeful Hearts.   First up is Dino-Mite illustrated by Theresa Momber:

The dinosaur images in this set are just so adorable!  Theresa is so creative and this font goes perfectly with these super-cute images. For my dino, I used Chocolate Brown and Fresh Asparagus cardstock.  The image was paper pieced and colored just a bit with a green Copic to make it pop. I die-cut the image using the Large Plain Circle Nesties,  Large Scallop Circle Nesties, and finished the card with some Chocolate Brown stitched ribbon.  Honestly, this is a fun stamp set to use and will make so many cute/funny cards and scrapbook pages!!

Next up is the upcoming stamp set Hopeful Hearts, which is illustrated by Tami Mayberry:

This is another must have stamp set...sure it covers Valentine's Day with the beautiful heart images, but it is for so much more!!! Right now I know quite a few friends who are going through difficult trials and this set is perfect for creating a little card to help cheer their day. I so appreciate Tami including the Scripture verses in this set, as His Word always brings comfort to those who trust Him as Savior, and this verse is one of my favorites!!
For my card, I used Chocolate Brown as my card base and embossed the frame and heart with Clear Embossing Powder.

For even more samples of the upcoming release, please check out these participating designer's blogs:

Gina K. Designs Sneak Peek Day 1

Welcome to the first day of the previews for Gina K Designs January Release!  The GKD DT is previewing two upcoming stamp sets: Where Your Heart Is and Ready Set Snow.   Today I have a card to share that I made with the stamp set Where the Heart Is, which is illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger

For my card I used Ocean Mist as my card base, Vivid Aqua Dye ink, Big Scallop Rectangle Small Spellbinders dies (these dies frame the rectangle hand image perfectly) and some Basic Grey Kioshi patterned paper.   I had a little ink smudge and wouldn't you know a Bling and Dazzle Ivory Sateen flower covered it up nicely!  I love the way the hands create a heart and Melanie has thought of everything when it comes to sentiments for this meaningful stamp set...

Sorry to keep this so short, but we have a nasty round of strep going through our house and thankful I created this before it hit!!

We'd also like to invite you to attend our Release Party Thursday, January 6th starting at 7 pm central on StampTV. There will be challenges, contest questions, and more samples from our designers on all the new stamp sets being released this month.
