Life's Moments

One of my favorite stamped sentiments (or sayings) is this one from Timeless Treasures...   The font is beautiful perfectly highlighting the words that carry such promise of the many events in life that truly do take your breath away.  I made the flower with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Sizzix die and stamped the printed pattern from Vintage Backgrounds.   The edges of about everything was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and added some pearls and lace.

It is a busy weekend here starting off with a Little League baseball game tonight.  Our oldest son is in the tournament and hoping to win and go to the Championship Game...  Will see, either way son has had a great season and played his best.  It is one of those "moments" I treasure!  I do hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Belated Birthday Card

My dad turned 62 on Sunday and due to my crazy week this didn't go postal until Monday. I just realized I used 5 different stamp sets on this card: Vintage Backgrounds, Masculine Messages, Inside and Out, Lovely Labels (just a fav!), and Timeless Treasures. The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye which I purchased back in July and finally got the nerve to cut it...so difficult to do. It just makes me sad to cut into a 12x12 piece, silly I know. Anyone know if My Mind's Eye makes 8x8 or 6x6 paper packs? Wouldn't that be cool!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

CPS Sketch and a B'day

I have two cards to share today...
The first is for the Card Postioning Systems sketch this week which has Gina K. Designs as their sponsor, now how great is that??? I love the sketch and thought of doing a butterfly card, but saw some were thinking the same so came up with this which uses the fun set Framed Friends illustrated by Asela. My favorite color combo ever is pink and brown and this definitely fits the bill. :o)

I have one more card to share today...for my hubby. I used a few sets for this one: Calendar Grid, Calendar Bits and Pieces and the clock from Timeless Treasures...

Today he turns FORTY.... How is he forty? Nah, just teasing, forty isn't that old! The closer I get to it the younger is seems, right??? Don't answer if you are in your low 20's... Thankfully I am younger than him and can give him a hard time (which I do....) hee-hee...
When the Lord called him to our first church (back in 1995) we had only been married a year and the young girls in the church thought I was his daughter...yep, too funny! LOL! Happy Birthday babe, I love you!!!
Hope you have a great day!
Blessings,

A Moment...

Can you believe Christmas is over and we are quickly approaching a new year! I am amazed at how the whole week flew by, but sure enjoyed every bit of it :o)

I did manage to get in my stamp room for a smidge and made this for the color challenge of Black/White over on Stamp TV. I used the clock and sentiment from Timeless Treasures. I stamped the clock with Going Gray and stamped the sentiment over it with Memento Black.
I stamped the sentiment on a paper flower as well (something I have seen Jessica do on her blog) and love the look it gives. This was a quick card to make and honestly, those are sometimes the best!

It is a busy week getting the house back together (Christmas decor taken down and put away) and switching my kids' bedrooms so the boys have more room (which is much needed!)

**Blog Candy Alert**
Nina who created the stamp set Lovely Shelf for Gina K. Designs is giving one away on her blog, along with a sample pack of Luxury cardstock. You can find the link HERE. It is a beautiful set...
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Calendar Bits and Pieces Blog Hop

In October, I received an email from Tami Mayberry asking if I would be her guest designer for her next stamp set... What other answer is there than..."Eeeks, I would LOVE to!" Her first set Special Delivery is a favorite of mine and I knew whatever she had up her sleeve would be wonderful so of course I wanted in on it! She has outdone herself with Calendar Bits and Pieces. and Calendar Grid (which you can also get the grid in a digital form if you prefer). Not only is this set perfect for calendars, but cards, scrapbook pages, altered art... you name it, it fits! Some dear friends recently had a party celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary and I just knew this set would be perfect! Little did I know that the calendar layout for the month of November was the same in 1959 as 2009...How cool is that!?! I wanted to commemorate their years together with my design so this is what I came up with...

I so enjoyed making this card and am thrilled with the result...(I don't mean to sound prideful, it just came out better than I envisioned). :o) I even worked in some images from Timeless Treasures and Good as Gold cardstock for their Golden Anniversary! I made a little gift card holder using the Labels One Nesties for a fun treat for the happy couple!

Mosaic Frame

Don't you love it when you find a great deal? I found a three pack of frames at Target in the dollar spot for $2.50 and they leaped in my cart with a project in mind....

I have been wanting to scrapbook a little picture of my youngest in a creek in Pisgah National Forest (in the mountains of NC) from this summer.  He loved playing in the cold creek and watching the water flow between his fingers...it was just precious!  We were able to get a perfect photo of him studying the water visually and with his hands.  A page would be too big for this little photo and besides, I wanted to highlight just him playing in the water so thought a 4x6 frame would be perfect!  The background is actually Inspiration Mosaic which was sponged and accented with various stamps in the set. The sentiment is from Timeless Treasures was perfect!  Oh, to see little ones discovering the world at their finger tips.....truly priceless!
Have a beautiful day!

Sketch Girls #4

Today I have a card to share that I made with using the Sketch Girls sketch. Now let me be the first to tell you this one was challenging...in fact, I made another one and couldn't get the sentiment placement right so gave it one more go at it and so glad I did.

This one "works" if you know what I mean. Oftentimes we just use a sketch as a general idea and I have no problem with going a bit off the sketch, but this time was challenging myself to STICK to it!   I used the stamp set Timeless Treasures designed by Theresa and some Basic Grey designer paper.  The card base is Soft Sand with Chocolate Kiss as a layering piece.  I love the sturdiness of the Gina K. Luxury cardstock...just can't be beat!  I stamped the lock twice and popped one up on a dimensional to add a little extra umph!

This month there is a contest for a 2 sketch Guest Designer spot with the Sketch Girls Design Team. The winner will be chosen from all of those that participate...the contest will start with this sketch and end in two weeks when the next sketch (SG5) goes up. The fun part....the Guest Designer will participate with us for SG6 and SG7 and get a special blog badge! There will even be a prize for the winner of this sketch...so get to creating with this sketch and show us what you've got! :o)

Be sure and check out the rest of the Sketch Girls creations for more inspiration (on my side bar) and hope to see your card linked up very soon!!!   And don't forget about the chance at my blog candy which you can find below this post :o) Have a great day!

Time

This was a quick card I made using Theresa's new stamp set Timeless Treasures. I picked up some clearance scrapbooking packs from Michaels' and got a good sized package of Making Memories Chloe's Closet paper for under $5. Love that! I colored the clock with a green and brown Copic and actually paper pieced it into place (but you can't see it from this angle, Oops!)

Off for another busy day....hope to stamp at some point, but we will see. Have a great day!

Treasured Moments

Before I head to the beach with my three kiddos, I wanted to share a quick card I made with Theresa Momber's new set Timeless Treasures. I just love the images in this set and the sentiments.  I used the postage stamp and template from Just For Fun that I got at the stamp show I went to last week.   Well, I am off to get some things together....  Have a great day!
