CFC41: Kissing Frogs

I made this for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week which was Jest for the Pun of it!  I used Fairy Tales and paired it with some GKD Patterned Paper Wisteria Lane (just love all of those circles!!).

Sorry I have been MIA quite a bit...alas, various virus' have hit our household and while I don't want it to hit us all at once, getting us one at a time (and lingering) is getting old!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Exciting News and Blog Candy!!!

I have some really exciting news to share...  Have you seen the newest issue of magazine...eeks, I am in there three times!!!  I am obviously over the moon excited and can still hardly believe it.   I like to set goals or challenges for myself and as 2009 was ending I made a few paper crafting goals.  One of those goals was to be published in CardMaker magazine.  It is one of my favorites due to the variety and I  love the big pictures of the projects...just so you know AJ, Tami and Melanie are in this issue too!  I am amazed at how the Lord has blessed this little paper crafting hobby of mine.   I had no idea making a card way back in 2000 (at the time I didn't see the big deal) and then being officially bit by the stamping bug in 2005, would morph into the opportunities I have now.  AND next week I leave for CHA in California where I will be representing Layers of Color,  get to hang out with Nina, Jessica, and Janice, meet some amazing people, and even "ooohh and ahhh" over all of the new product coming to soon to those of us that paper craft!!

Oh...you probably want to see a card right??  Well, here is one that I have in this issue...  I used Fairy Tales and originally created this card for a girl in our church...gave it away, and then wouldn't you know it...it got accepted so had to make another one.  :o) I learned from that one, lol!

On to some more exciting things...  I am giving away a copy of this newest issue of CardMaker magazine and the newest set by Tami Mayberry, Hopeful Hearts:

All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me a paper crafting goal of yours...  It can be anything from big to hey, just clean up my table after I stamp (that's another one of mine..hee-hee).  You have until Sunday night at 11:59 pm to leave a comment and I will draw a random winner on Monday morning.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

2 Sketches 4 You

I have to cards to share today that I made from the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge blog. The first one uses Kazan's sketch and the stamp set Fairy Tales. I can't seem to get enough of this adorable frog! I wanted to keep the card simple and used Kraft and Green Apple cardstock as well as some patterned paper from Garden Variety.

My second card....

...is for the Bonus sketch by Kay Sibley. I used Pure Luxury Ivory, Old Olive (out of Green Apple...boo-hoo), Webster's Pages patterned paper and a variety of stamps (Lovely Labels, Inspiration Mosaic and Elegant Flowers). I think the sentiment is so pretty and it fits perfectly inside of this label from Lovely Labels.

Personal note: Oldest son did GREAT at his scrimmage game last night! After his broken arm we have been concerned about arm strength but he managed to hit an in field homerun!!! Woo-hoo...mama gets so excited at games :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Sketch Girls #15

Today is the last day of March which means it is time for another FAB-ulous Sketch Girls sketch! This one was so much fun and I managed to use some scraps from my table for this one (always a bonus...because I have plenty being a messy stamper. In fact, Melanie has a great Scrap Challenge on her blog this week...be sure and check that out!).

I used the newest set from Tami called Fairy Tales and paper pieced this adorable frog once more. The sentiment is just too cute and yes....I kissed many a frog (uh-hum...they were really toads, lol!) Not sure it works or not, but I added a heart brad for his lips and maybe if you imagine he is really puckering up it will work :o)

Here is the sketch:

We would love to have you play along with our sketch this week! Be sure to link it up over on the Sketch Girls Blog. One lucky winner will win a $10 Gift Certificate to Phindy's Place

Be sure to check out the rest of the Sketch Girls for even more inspiration: Annie, Julie, Alyssa, Harriet, Tiffany, Randee, Bonnie, Amber, Katie, Jessica, Sara, and our Guest Designer Deanne.

Tuesday Trigger: Butterfly Dreams

The inspiration for this card came from the Tuesday Trigger Butterfly Dreams challenge over on the Moxie Fab Blog. I just loved the little seersucker plaid dress with the butterfly (it reminds me so much of dresses my daughter used to wear, so precious). The whimsical butterfly is from Fairy Tales which I popped up with pop dots. The background Bubblegum Pink panel I embossed with a Quickutz embossing folder (running it through twice at different angles to create the seersucker pattern, thought that was so cool!!!). Quite a fun card to design and the inspiration piece is just so sweet as you can see....

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have wonderful day...
Blessings,

Fairy Tales: You Shine

I *think* I have a new favorite set of Nesties.... love, Love, LOVE the Big Scallop Nestie sets, oh my goodness are these ever fun! Obviously the oval shape is a huge favorite of mine so had to start with those first, LOL! I used the flower and sentiment from Fairy Tales and the butterfly is from Spring Has Sprung. The flower was paper pieced with some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety (and honestly another new fav...) This is bad, would you call it an addiction? New stamps, Nesties, and Patterned Paper just sets my heart aflutter in a silly kind of way :o) Well, that is enough *silliness* from me today... I hope you have a wonderful weekend...
Blessings,
