SG6: 100% Sweet

The Sketch Girls Sketch designed by Leigh Ann was so much fun to put together. I recently won a stamp set over on StampTV and chose 100% Sweet by Rupa Shevde and figured it would be perfect for this sketch! I love all of the layers and since I have been on a scallop kick, added a few of those too!

I stamped the sundae image using Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copics. I wanted to glass to look like class so used my Versamarker to emboss it with Clear EP.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Sketch Girls Design Team to see the beautiful projects they created! They are listed along my sidebar and it will be well worth you time, these girls are awesome! Also, if you create your own project using this sketch, be sure to link it to the Sketch Girls Blog and maybe you card will win! If you win, there is a prize and you become a Guest Sketch Girl! We would love to have you join us!

Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Happy Birthday Dress

Joy Hadden had a great Color Challenge over on Stamp TV yesterday using Pink and Navy Blue. I just adore these two colors together and instantly thought of paper piecing with polka dots the dress from Retro Boutique! I love this little dress and would love one of my own (albeit a bit larger and these arms need sleeves, LOL!)

I am tickled with how it turned out and let me tell you I played around with the ribbon trying to get it just right. I originally wanted Navy stitched ribbon (but couldn't find enough) and I even tried some wide organdy Navy ribbon, but it just didn't look right.  So I settled with the pink.  Sometimes you have to adjust... (NOW I need to get a hold of some more Navy Stitched Ribbon!) *~*

I hope you have a wonderful day!

You Are Old When...

The Sentiment Singles line of stamps from Creative Clear Stamps are perfect for creating your own style of birthday cards. There are so many sentiments to choose from that you can create you very own sassy card for just about anyone on your birthday list. I made this one using You Are Old When on the outside....

and Huff and Puff on the inside.  I used some Basic Grey paper and Blue Bayou cardstock.  The sentiments were cut and embossed using Nesties and the centers were sponged with Soft Sky.  I have this set aside for a friend who is getting another year older and none to happy about it :o)  Age gets us all...and if it didn't we'd be dead!  So really no worries :o)
Have a wonderful day!

Green Tree Silhouettes

I just love the trees in Tree Silhouettes, it is definitely one of my favorite stamp sets of all time. It is not only perfect for cards, but on scrapbook pages featuring our family hikes....(and with autumn coming we will be going soon, I just love hiking amongst all of the beautiful colors of fall). I thought I would pull it out again to create a card using lots of Green for a Waltzingmouse challenge... and hey, a random winner will win all of her to soon-to-be released stamp sets and they look AWESOME!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Autumn Trees

Just a quick card to post for the weekend. I made this using more of the Autumn Flower Soft I just can't seem to use enough of :o) The sketch for this came from StampTV last week and I loved the layered look. I used the CB Herringbone folder and it added just the perfect texture. Thanks for visiting my blog and I pray you have a wonderful weekend!

You Deserve the VERY best!!!

I put this card together using I'm Your Friend from the Sentiment Singles line from Creative Clear Stamps by Creative Vision.   This sentiment so sassy and I know it will bring a smile to the one I am sending it to. :o)    If you would like one of your own.... they are very reasonable at only $3.00!!  I used some Basic Grey designer paper with Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette cardstock.   Nesties were used for the sentiment and I added a little flower with a pale pink pearl for the center.

Some good news to share...Laura (the creator of Creative Clear Stamps) had another card published in Scrap and Stamp Arts!  You can find the details HERE and we are so excited for her!!!  Laura also has a new newsletter coming out soon with a *valuable* coupon I have heard, so be sure you are signed up so you don't miss out!  You can find more info on the Creative Clear Blog!

Happy Fall

The leaves are starting to change and fall here in NC...we aren't in full foliage yet, but there is a definite hint of it coming soon!  I made this card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge which was to create a card/project using the colors of fall.  I had to add just a bit of Autumn Flower Soft to make the trees in full autumn foliage. I used the stamp sets Tree Silhouettes and Autumn Beauty.

The Scripture for the challenge was Ecclesiastes 3:1 and I just love that whole chapter of Ecclesiastes. There certainly is a purpose for everything... The verse in Ecclesiastes 3 that jumped out at me was vs.7 where is says: "A time to keep silence and a time to speak"...Oh my that is my trouble spot!   In  college, my best friend (who was similar in this area to me) gave me a little bookmark that I still have today that said, "Lord fill my mouth with worthwhile stuff, and nudge me when I've said enough."  That pretty much gets to the point of the matter :o)   I hope you have a wonderful day!

Blessings,

Guest Designer for Theresa Momber

Autumn Beauty has been just a delight to design with this month and I thank Theresa Momber for featuring me as one of her designers. I still have so many ideas and just not enough hours in my day to create (which is a good thing in the sense that there is always something new to try!). I love the fall.... it is just my favorite season with the cooler temperatures and I love to see the leaves in all of their various fall colors floating with the wind to the ground...Just a beautiful time of year.  Sunflowers are another symbol of fall which I love seeing this time of year and I wanted to feature those in today's post.  The large sunflower I colored with Copics and added some Autumn Flower Soft to the center of the flower. Just love the "zing" it gives to the card, kind of takes it up a notch!

The next thing I have to share is a set of 3x3 cards that I made using another one of the sunflowers. It is nice to have little cards on hand to include with a little gift or baked good.   My daughter takes piano lessons and I so appreciate the time and effort her teacher puts into teaching her. I am going to include one of these little notes with some fall shaped Sugar Cookies I make this week.
For these cards, I used my Labels 4 Nesties and used one of the smaller dies that would fit nicely on the front of a 3x3 card. I stamped the Green Apple base with the sentiment Give Thanks numerous times for a quick background to peek around the die. Just a bit of coloring and sponging and done. :o) I also stamped the envelope with the corner vine stamp and it adds the perfect accent.

It has been a huge blessing working with Theresa and her newest stamp set Autumn Beauty. I just know her next set will blow me away and looking forward to what she has in the future.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I truly appreciate your time and sweet encouraging comments that you leave. Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Limelight Sketch Challenge #30

I made this for the Limelight Sketch Challenge this week. It was a fun sketch featuring patterned paper which I just so happen to have a TON of! I used some older Basic Grey Figgy Pudding for this card and since it was double sided cut a strip to use along the top for my sentiment.  The colors are some of my favorites for Christmas cards True Thyme and Cranberry Crisp (retired from SU) with the matching ribbon.  This also goes with a from Ladies, Ink to make 3 Christmas cards this month (here's #1!) :o)

The snow you see is actually the new Flower Soft Polar White which I LOVE!!!  I am definitely going to be getting more of this stuff...I see it on lots of Christmas cards this year!

Blessings,

Got Worms?

I know...this is just BAD! :o)  Hooked on Fishing from Creative Clear Stamps has the cutest little worm and honestly, this sentiment just cracks me up!  I thought this card would be cute given with a package of gummy worms which my kids LOVE...(I should have taken the photo with the card and the gummy worms, but someone in my house ATE them, LOL!)  I noticed on the site that Hooked on Fishing is one of the top three sellers so if you have a fisherman in your house, this would be too cute to create with.

Well, I have some happy news for me. I am staying with Creative Clear Stamps for another 3 months as the Blog Coordinator. We will be having challenges and tutorials on our blog at  A Fairy Creative Place starting in October so be sure and check it out...and there is blog candy right now too!  You can find it HERE.

There are some fabulous new holiday stamps that were just released and available at a fantastic price (can you beat $10 a set???) You have got to check them out...I just squealed when I saw them and so excited for them to arrive!

Blessings,

Motherhood

Do you think the Motherhood sentiment from Creative Clear Stamps is my favorite? I seem to be drawn to it and use it all of the time....

The sketch for the card came from Stamping Sisters for Christ Challenge and I just loved the circle for a focal sentiment and of course was just drawn to this Motherhood sentiment. I used the Basic Grey June Bug designer paper with Real Red and Pink Pirouette cardstock. I added a couple of pink brads along the top and a threaded button along the bottom layer which was cut at an angle. This sentiment is so beautiful....

Being a mother in and of itself is a huge job and one we should thank the Lord for every day. The time we have with them is so precious.... I just wish they wouldn't grow quite so fast. You may wonder why I am thinking this way...well, my oldest turns 13 next week and I am amazed how the nearly 13 years have flown by! :o) She is thrilled to be getting older, but her daddy and I still see a little girl with pig tails carrying her Bitty Baby everywhere....

Blessings,

Autumn Beauty: Thanksgiving

I cannot believe I am making Thanksgiving cards already...but with Autumn Beauty I just cannot help myself! The font of the sentiment is just beautiful and I had to get those pumpkins into the wagon :o) I used the beautiful new Moonlit Fog Luxury Cardstock and matched it up with the Basic Grey Ambrosia 6x6 paper pack.  I love the gray color with the orange...it just goes together so beautifully.

I stamped the pumpkins twice, colored them with Copics, and cut them out.  One set I used to place into the wagon (which I cut a slight slit in to slide them into place).  I secured them with a glue dot so believe me they are not going anywhere! :o)

Also if you would like see more samples using Autumn Beauty, check out Theresa's blog for a project from Guest Designer Karen Knegten and Pam Imholtz' blog for another project featuring Autumn Beauty!

Autumn Beauty SG5

Autumn Beauty has so many pretty images that I wanted to create a card focusing more on the lovely sunflowers included in the set. The sketch  for this card came from this weeks Sketch Girls Challenge and profiled two of the sunflowers. The new Pumpkin Spice cardstock was my base and I also used Chocolate Kiss and a bit of Green Apple. The designer paper which goes perfectly with the new Luxury cardstock colors from Gina K. Designs is from the Basic Grey Ambrosia line.

If you get a chance, check out what the other Sketch Girls Design Team have come up with using this fabulous sketch from Leigh Ann which certainly has a ton of possibilities!

Friendship

One of the first stamp sets I received from Creative Vision was the set Friendship. For that reason, it holds a sweet little spot in my crafting heart.... the sentiments included in this set are just beautiful! I wanted to create a more autumn-like card so used the colors Pumpkin Pie and Apricot Appeal paired with some Basic Grey Ambrosia. I recently bought some new Nesties and realized they are perfect for phrases and am sure they will work perfectly in the Sentiment Singles line of stamps as well!

So...is anyone really excited for Laura's BIG annoucement? You can find all of the details on this link HERE tomorrow!

Autumn Beauty Blog Hop

When Theresa Momber sent me a message asking me to be one of her Guest Designers for her new Autumn Beauty stamp set I squealed with delight. This is another beautiful stamp set that Theresa has designed and I am so thrilled with this wonderful opportunity.

For this card I wanted to focus on the mailbox and sentiment: "From Our Family to Yours". The card base is the new Pumpkin Spice and I also used a piece of the patterned paper that was included in the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV Kit. The mailbox image was stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. I stamped the mailbox three times so I could add dimension by paper piecing it.

The fibers are from Basic Grey Ambrosia, as well as a piece of brown fiber that I had in my stash.

For more inspiration, please check in on our Illustrator of Autumn Beauty, Theresa Momber. She has also designed a beautiful digital paper pack called All About Autumn that is available for purchase as well. Be sure to leave a comment on Theresa's blog for a chance to win this stamp set!

Autumn Blessings

It has been a busy but fun week...we have been out of town in the mountains enjoying some R&R (but sadly the weather wasn't quite cooperative...) Oh-well, we still loved being in the mountains again and are heading home today ~via a fabulous stamp/scrapbook store: The Enchanted Cottage!....it was my dear husbands idea, knowing we were SO close :o) So I leave you with a card I made using faux stitching :o) I do not have a sewing machine so used rub-on's I bought years ago from QVC. The stamp set is Autumn Beauty from Theresa Momber which I am just having so much fun using! Have a wonderful day!

Hello Friend and Blog Candy Winner

A challenge last week on STV was to CASE a DT member from Gina K. Designs. I CASE'd a card made by the uber talented Donna Baker and I changed the color and stamp to make this card. I even kept the sentiment the same, but used different stamps. You can find the original card HERE and see exactly where I got the beautiful inspiration.

I used the beautiful new Pure Luxury Green Apple cardstock from GKD and the leaf stamp from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit.  Just love that big leaf...It was stamped using Memento Pear Tart ink.  The sentiment is from Autumn Leaves.

Well it is time to announce the winner from my blog candy.... And the winner is:
Christyne (aka Apple Blossom) said...
BAHAHAHAHA!!! Nappy Hour - I love it! Great job on the card!

Fall Leaves

There was a great challenge over on Stamp TV to make a card that goes outside the lines (meaning out of the boundary of the card itself). I used various Vivid inks to stamps the leaves (from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV Kit) to make this fall themed card.  Using a scallop edge punch I made a strip that is longer than the actual card (especially with the wide width twine). I stamped the sentiment in both Cocoa Bean and Olive to give a bit of interest to the sentiment.

I am hoping to stamp a bit today...still have a swap I need to finish creating for so I can get it in the mail... a bit before the due date, LOL! :o) Looking forward to seeing the beautiful cards that get mailed back...love all of the ideas I get! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Guest Designer...for Theresa!!!

I am so excited...Theresa Momber asked me to be one of her Guest Designers for the month of August for her new stamp set Autumn Beauty!   This new stamp set is beautiful and has lovely images and sentiments all illustrated by the super talented Theresa herself.  She is one talented artist and I am amazed each month with the detail she gives to her designs.

I received my set yesterday and have been playing with it some today.... Here is the first card I made and I must say I am so looking forward to creating some more... I used some of the new Spellbinders I recently bought at The Scrapbooking Room and so glad I finally took the plunge...these dies are addictive! I see part of this weekend spread out stamping! :o)

Don't forget about my blog candy...you have until September 6th to enter and on Monday I will post a winner!  You can find a direct link HERE.  I had a wonderful birthday on Monday and have enjoyed reading the guesses for my age.  One especially tripped me out.... and for the record....I am not yet 84 (or even half that, yet hee~hee)  :o)  Have a wonderful day!

Mosaic Frame

Don't you love it when you find a great deal? I found a three pack of frames at Target in the dollar spot for $2.50 and they leaped in my cart with a project in mind....

I have been wanting to scrapbook a little picture of my youngest in a creek in Pisgah National Forest (in the mountains of NC) from this summer.  He loved playing in the cold creek and watching the water flow between his fingers...it was just precious!  We were able to get a perfect photo of him studying the water visually and with his hands.  A page would be too big for this little photo and besides, I wanted to highlight just him playing in the water so thought a 4x6 frame would be perfect!  The background is actually Inspiration Mosaic which was sponged and accented with various stamps in the set. The sentiment is from Timeless Treasures was perfect!  Oh, to see little ones discovering the world at their finger tips.....truly priceless!
Have a beautiful day!

Grateful

I had a post all written up and then blogger did something crazy and it is gone...Poof!  I am not happy about that at all.... :o(  So I had this one in the hopper until I get the other one straight...

This was the other card I made using the SG4 Sketch...but it didn't quite fit, the sentiment is off floating where it shouldn't be.  I used stamps from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit and clear embossed the pumpkins after coloring them with Copics.
I have a little framed piece I want to share tomorrow so hope blogger will cooperate...

Don't forget I have some Blog Candy a few posts below, or you can follow the link HERE.  And Creative Vision is having another Design Team call and all of the details are on their blog A Fairy Creative Place....  I have really enjoyed designing for them these past several months. Have a great day!
