Limelight Sketch Challenge

I made this real quick today for the Limelight Sketch Challenge this week. I picked up this cute scrapbook paper at AC Moore on Friday and thought it would go great with the My Cuppa' Joe stamp set. I paper pieced the mugs using some scrap designer paper and cardstock that I have stashed away. For the red cup, I added the foam to the mug by using Puffy Paint, makes it look so delicious! Now I am off to make a pot of coffee for this cold rainy day.
Have a great Sunday!

Blogger#3 Challenge #1

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and had a good time shopping the Black Friday deals yesterday...I am thankful to say we got a lot accomplished (Christmas gifts bought) and had a good time too! :o))

Okay, here is my challenge card for the Blogging #3 Group. We were to make a card using yellow, orange and flowers. I chose to use the colors So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie. I wasn't sure how these two colors would look together, but they work. The silhouette stamp is from Garden Silhouettes and the sentiment is from Flowers for Daisy. I have lots of decorating to do today...so best get to it.
Have a great weekend!

Christmas Card Stash

I made these two cards using the Little Yellow Bicycle products from Limelight PaperCrafts. I was really tickled to see how well the colors matched my slightly remaining stash of Cranberry Crisp and True Thyme cardstock. I wonder if SU will ever bring these colors back...they are my favorite for Christmas cards. I used the Christmas Magic Clear Stamp Set as well as the matching Christmas Magic - 8x8 Paper & Punch-Out Tablet .

With the scrapbook pack, there are several pages of punch out shapes which make a card a breeze to make. You can see on here with the Merry Christmas sentiment. I just added brads on both sides. I outlined the snowflake using my Stardust pen. The photo just does not catch it well...looks better in person.
I have a full day of cooking and cleaning to get ready for tomorrow. Have a great day!

Technique Challenge

When I saw the Technique Challenge for this week: Pop Up Gift Card I thought I would give it a whirl. I knew the new stamp set from Gina K., My Cuppa' Joe would be perfect for this challenge. Who doesn't love a gift card to Starbucks? (Even for non-coffee drinkers, they have great tea and hot chocolate) I used Cosmo Cricket designer paper and got a bonus because it is double sided :o)) The base of the card is Chocolate Chip and I also used Sage Shadow for the layering.

I paper pieced the coffee bag onto the bag using the other side of the designer paper and stamped coffee in the label box. After the image was stamped and colored, I stamped over it using the Linen BG stamp and Creamy Caramel ink.

Here is what the inside of the card looks like....

As you can see, there is plenty of room to add something to the inside of the card if you wish.
That is all for today. Have a great Tuesday!

Christmas Snowman and SS

I cannot believe how fast the weekend flew by... Can you believe that Thanksgiving is this Thursday? I am so looking forward to cooking a big meal with all of the fixings, looking through the newspaper for the Black Friday deals (and mapping out my plan of attack on shopping), and then in the evening watching a movie. It is our little family tradition to watch Elf Thanksgiving night. That movie is just too cute!

Today I have two cards to share. The first is another card to add to my assorted Christmas cards I will be sending out this year. Just bam, bam and I am done.

The next card is from my Big Sister (through the Divine Secret Sisters on SCS). The reveal is pretty soon and she has been leaving me clues, but I am a bit slow on the uptake I think. :o)) This is just gorgeous and I love all of the cards she has sent me this round. All just amazing. She is super talented and I love her style.

Cuppa' Joe, Anyone?

I am an avid coffee drinker, if there is such a thing. :o) I love coffee first thing in the morning and then love a cup or two of decaf in the evenings. If I am near a Starbucks, I definitely stop in for my favorite: a Grande Vanilla Latte (sometimes Skinny, sometimes not ;o)) and with the holiday season I also enjoy a Gingerbread Latte with a Molasses Chew cookie....Mmmm, will have to go soon!

When Gina K. released this new set designed by Rupa Shevde, My Cuppa' Joe I was just loving it! I love the design of the images and the various sentiments and font of the sentiments. I ordered it first thing the night it was released and have been kicking myself ever since for not ordering another 2 sets to get the free set. Ggrr! I am so wishing I had ordered the Cookie set by Melanie. Sometimes I try to be so frugal, and then I regret it. :o((

For this card, I used the paper piecing technique and used the retired SU Dashing designer paper. The sketch is actually from the sketch challenge on SCS this week. I am pleased with how this turned out. Quite Christmasy.
Have a great weekend!

Ready for Snow?

It sure has gotten seasonably cold here in NC! I love it (from inside near the fireplace) and hope for a good snow this year. This is another snowman card I made using the Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas Magic scrapbook paper. This snowman is nice and whimsical looking. I think it is by Inkadinkadoo.

Two for Tuesday

I have two cards to share today. The first one I made for a sketch challenge on the Gina K. forum on SCS. I outlined the flower and leaf to make it match the beautiful Basic Grey dp. It really ties it together nicely.

This next card uses the Little Yellow Bicycle products from Limelight Paper Crafts. The ornament is actually a punch out from the Christmas Magic scrapbook pack. It makes for a nice quick card and I put this together super fast. The gold on the ornament looks a little wonky in this photo, but it looks better in person. The other snowflakes and sentiment were stamped using the matching clear stamp set.
Have a great Tuesday!

Christmas Snowman

While on vacation I made several different cards using the Penny Black Warm and Cold snowman. He is just the cutest thing!!! I colored him using my ink pads and a AquaPainter. I also used the snowflake stamp from Merry & Bright for around the sentiment as well as the background on the Cranberry Crisp cardstock base. The designer paper is the from Basic Grey...I am having a hard time finding individual sheets of this pattern. :o( I bought it at a discount at a scrapbook store in the mountains of NC and so wish I had purchased more sheets, it is just a favorite!

Well, tomorrow I will have some cards from Gina K. to share...I just need to take pictures and finish one more challenge card. I am excited because my stamp set My Cuppa' Joe arrived today (I just ordered it Thursday night!) So hopefully I will get a chance later this evening to use it. Have a great day!

Limelight Sketch

I made this card for the Limelight Sketch Challenge and you can find all of the details HERE . It is a lovely sketch, but I kind of has a hard time with it... I think it was just my mojo was off a bit the day I made it. :o) For the background I used the Linen BG and a snowflake from the Christmas Magic set. Well, I still have some laundry to do from vacation so best get to it. Have a great Sunday.

Vacation Inspiration

Blogging hasn't been high on my "to do" list this week because we have been out of town on vacation. It has been so nice to get away and spend some time together. In my spare time, (as in when the baby naps~~otherwise there isn't any :o)) ) I have managed to stamp quite a few Christmas cards which I will be sharing soon. Today I wanted to share a card made by a dear stamping friend of mine who gave it to us before we left town...I am AMAZED by her creativity! We love the mountains and hiking while we are on vacation and she used that as inspiration for the card. The NUT sign is the an abbreviation for the location of our vacation this year. She just did a fabulous job...love the colors, layout and background! Thanks Susan..you need a gallery on SCS!
Have a great day!

Not so much...

This was a card I made back during the World Card making event on SCS. It is definitely not my favorite...I am not a fan of the SU color Summer Sun (a tad to bright for me). There are elements I like on this card: the flower and the focal image of the leaves. Stamping over an image with Linen BG, just adds a nice texture. Another full day here, so better get to it. Have a great day!

Colorful Live Your Dream

I am taking a short little break from making Christmas cards and wanted to share this card I made using the stamp set Live Your Dream. I just love all of the colors! I embossed the flowers with Ruby Red Craft Ink and like the shine. I am not one to doodle around my cards very often, but for this card it worked around the edges. The Biblical sentiment is from the Happy Harmony stamp set and is a favorite of mine.
I hope you have a wonderful day....I know next week I will have quite a few Christmas cards to share using the Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas Magic Scrapbook set and matching clear stamp set. I am having so much fun with it!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

I love the paper piecing technique with the MFT stamps! These stamps make it so easy to do and there are so many great designer papers to choose from...just boggles the mind to think of all of the possibilities. This was the first MFT stamp set I bought and I just love it. I have Rain or Shine which (sadly) still hasn't seen ink yet :o( Hopefully, this coming week I will get chance. Do you have a favorite MFT set? If so tell me what it is... I love this one and A Scarf for Three. But I did see the new one that was just released Who's That E-Girl? and it is calling to me...

Have a great weekend!

Live Your Dream

I almost didn't buy this set when it was in the mini-catalog...but am glad I bit bullet and did. Sadly, it didn't make it into the current catalog. This was a card that came together rather quickly. I used my Linen BG to add a little bit of texture to the cardstock, I am not sure it has shown up to well on this photo. Then I went back and randomly stamped the butterfly using Soft Sky ink as well. This is a nice simple layout that I use when I am short of time and need a card in a jiffy.

Well, I have a full day here so I best get busy. Have a great one!

Mojo Madness #59

I made this card for the Mojo Madness sketch challenge shortly after I voted today. I am just so thankful to live in a country where "we the people" get to let our voices be heard through the election process. I am excited that people are exercising this great freedom.

I stamped this using the colors Blue Bayou, Ruby Red and WW. I was going to leave the background white, but it desperately needed something so I added the stars from Background Basics. The sentiment in red is from the stamp set The Free and the Brave (it states, "What Love is to the Heart, Liberty is to the Soul") and the overlapping blue sentiment "BLESSED" is from the SAB stamp set So Very...as you can see quite a hodge podge of stamps. I placed some star bling over the Blue Bayou stars that I punched, but I am afraid they didn't show up very well...oh-well :o) I thought a patriotic card was very fitting for this evening (two posts in one day...WOW!) and am tickled with how it turned out. Have a wonderful night!

So Kind

Every Sunday on SCS there is a Featured Stamper Challenge and this week Becca was chosen. She has an outstanding gallery that is well worth browsing...I am amazed by her attention to detail! The card I chose to CASE was Get Well Soon. I changed the colors and a little bit of the layout as my circle image is not as large and I centered mine. I like the simplicity of this card, it is more attention to layers.

Well, I am off to vote this morning and have a busy day from there. Have a great day and be sure and vote! :o)

Blue Bayou Butterflies

This is for last Wednesday's sketch challenge on SCS. I made another one earlier in the week but wasn't quite pleased with it so sadly, it went to the scrap pile. For this one, I am pleased because I visualized this in my head and it actually turned out exactly as I wanted it to. :o) ...and for me, that is big! I stamped the butterfly on Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out using the Square Scallop Punch. Then I stamped the butterfly three more times on a scrap piece of cardstock. It took no time at all to cut them out and piece on top of each so that the wings would stand out and this certainly worked easy enough!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Stamps: Priceless and Sincere Salutations
Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, VV
Ink: Blue Bayou
Accessories: Blue Bayou double stitched grosgrain, Square Scallop Punch, and CB folder Stylized Flowers

WSC64 Autumn

Can you believe it is November 1st? I am shocked with how quickly the month of October went by. I would like to think the month of November will go slower, but I know time just flies from now through Christmas.

Beate has a great weekend sketch on her blog, I haven't done one of her sketches in a long time. Since everything I have made lately has been Christmas themed, I wanted to do something more fitting for autumn. I used the floral set Comfort and Peace from Gina K. and simply inked the stamp up with my SU markers. Love how easy that is, then I just added the sentiment from Flowers for Daisy. I am pleased with how this turned out and love the colors Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green together. Have a great weekend!
