WSC64 Autumn

Can you believe it is November 1st? I am shocked with how quickly the month of October went by. I would like to think the month of November will go slower, but I know time just flies from now through Christmas.

Beate has a great weekend sketch on her blog, I haven't done one of her sketches in a long time. Since everything I have made lately has been Christmas themed, I wanted to do something more fitting for autumn. I used the floral set Comfort and Peace from Gina K. and simply inked the stamp up with my SU markers. Love how easy that is, then I just added the sentiment from Flowers for Daisy. I am pleased with how this turned out and love the colors Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green together. Have a great weekend!

Comfort and Peace

This week is just flying by, I can hardly believe it.... I think I missed part of September and now it is October 2nd already!

The Color Challenge on SCS this week was to use colors: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust and Baja Breeze (which I substituted with Sage Shadow). The stamp set used is Comfort and Peace from Gina K. Designs. I think the sentiments in this stamp set work very nicely for a variety of occasions when you are concerned for someone, whether it is for a sympathy card or if someone is just going through a difficult time for a variety of reasons. The font is form of script and different from anything else that I have in my collection. I created the background on the Really Rust layer by first stamping it using the Canvas BG from SU, then I put it through the Cuttlebug using the Distressed Stripes folder. I think both steps give it great texture! The main focal image was stamped using markers and then stamped over the image using Creamy Caramel ink and the Linen BG.
Have a great day!

Recipe:
Stamps: Comfort and Peace (GKD), Linen, and Canvas
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Sage Shadow, and VV
Ink: Chocloate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Sage Shadow, and Really Rust
Accessories: Brown Organdy, Brads, and CB folder Distressed Stripes

Flowers for Daisy/Canvas

Sadly I was needing a sympathy card this past weekend and knew I wanted to use the stamp set Flowers for Daisy...not only for the verse sentiments (on the inside of the card, which is not shown) but for the flower stamps as well. With the double daisy stamp, I love to make my own background and this time combined it with the background stamp Canvas from SU. This was made for a sketch challenge on Gina K's forum on SCS by Carolyn King (which is a great sketch to use).
Have a great night!

A Rose is a Rose

The first stamp set I ordered from the new SU catalog was A Rose is a Rose. I like the simplicity of two-step stamping! For this card, I used the colors Night of Navy and Brocade Blue for a monochromatic card (with just a touch of Always Artichoke and Mellow Moss for the leaves). The background design on the Brocade Blue layer was made using the background stamps Canvas and Bella Toile.

Tomorrow I have a fun little card using the Punches Three stamp set combined with a Gina K. Designs stamp set to make a cute little baby card. Have a great day!
