Petal Prints

I outlined the petal using the glue pad and the Martha Stewart glitter. It gives a very nice effect. I can see myself using a lot of this at Christmas! I have stamped a few things I will share tomorrow. The challenges on SCS have been a lot of fun and so far this week I have managed to do them all. I have a few things to get done this afternoon so I have to run....Have a great day!

Tsukineko Glue Pad

Here is a card (or two) I made using the new Glue Pad I was talking about yesterday. On the first one, I used the elephant from the Stampin' Up! set Wild About You. You simply stamp it into the glue pad, then onto the paper and add the glitter. Easy, Peasy! I used the Turquoise from Martha Stewart and it set beautifully! I am really amazed....I will be investing in a lot more glitter! ;o) The glue pad is so easy to use and it is very easy to clean the stamp afterwards.

Here is another one using the glue pad....I can't help it and I am hooked and will be using this pad a lot. It is an instant wow and so much simpler than heat and stick powder. On this card, I used the stamp set All About U, the U is perfect for the full coverage of the glitter.

Now I want to try using this glue pad with an outline stamp...maybe tomorrow I will post what that would look like.
Have a great day!

Little Lobster

I have had the best time with these stamps from Gina K. They are so stinkin' cute! This one I tried to get away from the standard red. For the lobster, I colored him with reinkers and add red stickles to him. He just sparkles! I added some wiggly eyes and am quite pleased with how he turned out.

I got together with a friend to stamp today and used the new Glue Pad by Tsukineko everyone is raving about on SCS. I have had it for over a month (got it at a Stamp Expo for $6.50) and just now got to using it. Oh, my goodness!!!! It is the best EVER! I will post tomorrow a card I made using it and it is truly amazing, no more heat and stick powder! Oh, so easy and talk about great coverage.....I used it with some of the beautiful glitter Martha Stewart is selling at Michael's. The glitter she sells is a great deal. I believe it is $4.99 and it is 1.5 oz. I will definitely be picking up some more colors!

Just Beclaws

Yesterday I received some stamps I ordered from stampingfreak.com ... Gina K. has some wonderful new stamps for sale and these were just calling my name. ("Buy me, Buy me, Buy me!") I have another one I will show tomorrow. I do believe I am going to place another order for a few more, she has some really cute sayings I am wanting to add to my collection! ;o) The quality of the rubber stamps is wonderful and the images are just adorable.
I highly recommend her online store, you won't be disappointed!

I'm back...

This has really been a busy week! I cannot believe it has been a week since my last blog post. I was able to take some time to do the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS on Sunday. This week's artist was Kyla Maestas, (aka Vitality)...she has a great gallery! I love the things she has done with the Double Line Doodles set and wanted to try some of her card desgins myself. I changed up the color but other than that it is almost exactly like hers.

I really haven't had much time to stamp since I made this card on Sunday. I did clean my stamp table some Monday, so I think that counts ;o) I hope to get some more stamping in maybe tomorrow night....

Need New Clothes!

I made a card similar to this for a friend who just recently found out she was expecting. I was in AC Moore shopping on Monday and I realized I now had a "reason" to buy the stamp. How is that for excuses to buy stamps? I thought this image and saying was just too cute to pass up.

Friend

This is another card I made over the weekend with the stamp set Toile Blossoms. I used the same colors as a previous one, just changed the design up a bit. On this one, I was able to find a place for the round tab punch. It is the coolest punch, but sometimes I have a hard time finding the right place for it.

I have another card I am excited to share...a friend is expecting a little bundle of joy and I picked up the cutest little stamp at AC Moore today. (Nothing like a good excuse to buy ANOTHER stamp!) I am having problems taking the picture and keeping it from being blurry so I will try tomorrow in the daylight.

This afternoon I went to three craft stores..Michaels, AC Moore and JoAnne's. At Michael's, I got to see Martha Stewart's new paper crafting line..she has some nice stuff, but a tad pricey when you can't use a coupon. ;o( However, I did get some ribbon and at some point will get some of her punches. They look nice! I love that they stand on one end. That is smart!

Poor Little Mouse

I am trying to use some of the designer paper I have laying around, it is amazing how that stuff collects! There was also a Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS today which is where I got this layout. (This week it is Candy Williams and she has a great gallery on SCS!)

I used this mouse stamp from Inkadinkadoo. The pen wouldn't quite fit in the scalloped oval punch so I added part of it separately and just had to use stickles to sparkle it up a bit. ;o) I colored the image with SU reinkers and my Aqua Painter brush. The designer paper is DCWV Retro Prints. The mouse is writing "Get Well" on the cast...too cute!

Toile Blossoms

I made this card this afternoon after seeing a sketch Beate had on her blog. I cannot believe how many background stamps I ended up using: Print Pattern, Linen, Canvas and French Script. The focal image is from the stamp set Toile Blossoms which retired a year or two ago. Great set though...has lots of possibilities!

If you want to check out Beate's blog it is: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com

Find Joy

This card uses the stamp sets Polka Dots & Paisley as well as Polka Dots & Petals from the SU spring mini catalog. I used the Designer paper that matches the set to add more color to the card without overdoing it. The framing for the center image is simply using the Round Tab Punch. I paper pierced the edges of the Old Olive CS, but it doesn't quite show up well in this picture. I was inspired by this card from various ones I have seen on SCS and blogs.

It is hard to believe another week has gone by...I am hoping get some stamping time in this weekend, if so, I will post what I get accomplished.

Hip Hip Hooray

Hip Hip Hooray is another stamp set that will retire the end of June. Sad, but true... This is for another challenge on SCS and this time I combined both the Color Challenge and the Sketch Challenge. I used the Mat Pack to pierce little holes in the corners of the square pieces and on the Print Pattern Background, I faux stitched with the White Gel Pen.

I noticed on the www.rubberstampingfun.com website that the stamp I used yesterday (from the set Woodland Animals) was no longer listed. Not to worry if you were wanting it because the owner told me they had sold out of that stamp set, but more are on the way!

New Stamps!

I received some stamps I ordered yesterday...How is that for fast service? They are from a stamp company called Rubber Stamping Fun. There website is www.rubberstampingfun.com and I and some others have been selected to review some upcoming new stamp sets! It is super exciting and I am thrilled to be included. When I was selected, I decided to make a quick order because there was a stamp (the bear) I knew I wanted to use for a Father's Day card. (My husband is an avid hiker and has actually seen black bears when he has hiked. You don't often see them, so on the rare occasions that you do, it is very thrilling!) I know SU has a bear stamp very similar, but I didn't want the rest of the stamps in the set so this was perfect for me!

I used the SU background stamp Flannel Plaid and the scenic stamp is from a stamp company called Blue Ridge Impressions which is located in McGaheysville, VA. They don't have anything available online, just a small store in Virginia and a catalog.

Lucky Duck

Today I took part in the Color Challenge on SCS. It was combining the colors: Taken with Teal, Cool Caribbean and Marigold Morning. I had this cute little duck stamp sitting around and thought he work perfectly, I used my Water Color Crayons to color him in. The background is made by using the Paisley stamp from Polka Dots and Paisley and the Canvas BG stamp. I have just recently started liking the Cool Caribbean color and wouldn't you know it, right near the end of its availability! Oh-well! I will stock up a bit before the end of June.

Monday Mailer

I take part in a group that swap cards on the first Monday of every week. This months theme is making "Man Cards."
For this card, I used the Flannel Plaid background stamp from SU (which is perfect for making masculine cards) and I combined it with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set (which is NOT retiring, thank goodness). I water colored the tree using reinkers. I love these colors together and sadly the True Thyme cardstock and ink will not longer be available after June 30th...so contact your demonstrator if you like it and want to stock up. I know I will be! ;o)

Donut Bliss

This is a card I made this afternoon for the Limited Supply Challenge. The theme this week was using food related stamps. I had the hardest time not using a punch, I use some kind of a punch with almost every card I make ;o)
This House Mouse stamp is called Donut Bliss and is so adorable. I used my Water Color Crayons to color the image...I think I will be keeping my eyes out for some more of these stamps!
Have a good weekend!

Double Line Doodles

Double Line Doodles was the free stamp set we got at the Stampin' Up! Regional event in Virginia Beach. I have finally gotten around to using it. I like it, but it is the standard style of set I am naturally drawn to, but it does have a lot of possibilities. This card turned out okay. I used a similar layout to what we did at Regional, just changed it up a bit. I paper pieced the bird into place, I just could not imagine cutting around the birds legs...too much work ;o) This will be a great set around Valentine's Day, especially if the set Love Matter makes it into the new catalog. They would work well together.

Like it a Latte

Today's challenge on SCS was a sketch challenge. This uses the Like it a Latte is a stamp set from this past Winter Mini Catalog as well as the Cuttlebug that I bought back in January. I thought the swirl embossing folder goes well with the swirls from the steam. We will see on July 1st if this set makes it into the new catalog. With the other coffee set retiring, I would think it now has more of a chance and I know it was very popular when it was available. It sure gets my vote, if my vote counted ;o))

SU Retirement List

Well, the Stampin' Up! Retirement list came out this morning...I have 24 sets that are retiring (not counting hostess sets). By no means do I have as many stamp sets retiring as some demonstrators I know....I still have plenty to use for workshops. However, some of those retiring are absolute favorites such as the ones used in this card. I can say for sure that I will not be trading or selling either Petal Prints nor the French Script background.

I am excited about the new catalog and obviously a whole bunch of new stamp sets...so I am not too sad. ;o)

Have a good day and thanks for checking in...
