Layers of Color

I have another Layers of Color card to share with you today.  This one uses the Clear Art Stamp set Flowering Gems and the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil.  I haven't created a brown and red card in quite some time and thought the brown would *pop* if stenciled on red cardstock.  The flowers were stamped, cut out and layered with dimensionals.  I also used a Tim Holtz embossing folder, wrapped some ribbon and added a Faith sentiment. You can't quite see it (on the red part), but I spritzed the red cardstock and die-cut Spellbinders die with some Pinecone Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.  This stuff is addictive and I managed to pick up two more bottles for Christmas cards (red/green)...  Still need to get the hang of it though, lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Heart to Heart Card Drive: Many Thanks!

I made this for Carolyn King's Heart to Heart Card Drive whose dear grandmother passed away in 2008 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. From that year on Carolyn has had this special card drive with the goal of encouraging those that take care of Alzheimer's patients...the caregivers!

I used the stamp set Whimsical Autumn (illustrated by Carolyn in honor of her grandmother) and paired it with some Basic Grey Pyrus.  I do hope you can also join in this card drive... it is for a wonderful cause with many sponsors and card designers donating their own card designs.  One very happy stamper will win an estimated $1000 in prizes plus some amazing handmade gifts and cards.  I am sending mine to the Staff of the Artman Home where dear Carolyn's grandmother was taken care of, I pray it is a blessing and that they get flooded with cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Grand Damask and Fanciful Tags make the quickest cards...  I made one similar to a birthday cards a few weeks ago only this time used Chocolate Brown and Sweet Corn.  Using the kissing technique, I stamped on the inked damask with the worded background from Vintage Backgrounds.  Very simple card to put together and nice to have an extra wedding card in my stash.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Our was so busy I am looking forward to a Monday, lol!

Celebrate in Style

It has been an busy week with lots of things to get done and stamping just hasn't made it on the "to do" list.  Can you believe it, lol!  However, I am hoping to remedy that later in the weekend ;oP  I made this card a week ago using some fun patterned paper from October Afternoon and the stamp sets Retro Boutique and Lovely Labels.

There are some great challenges this week over on Stamp TV and hope you will play along!   Retro Boutique was the very first stamp set I ever won from Gina K. Designs and is one of my favorites!  Gina is most gracious and offers a free stamp set of your choice to a randomly chosen winner for each challenge.  Got to love the chance at free stamps...and a new release is right around the corner and so excited for what is coming!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Touch of Elegance

This is one of my favorite cards I have made with Layers of Color Clear Art Stamps.  For this card, I used the stamp set Touch of Elegance (which is actually on sale this month).  I stamped the damask image with black ink on Soft Sand cardstock to create a dramatic background pattern, wrapped it with ribbon/lace and layered it on Black cardstock.  The beautiful lace on this card is actually from from my dear friend Nina in Croatia.  I hope you saw the post about her over on the Paper Crafts Connection blog...just an amazing testimony of Nina sharing the love of Christ through paper crafting. And if you haven't checked it out, be sure you do as there is a FABulous prize from some pretty popular companies!!! :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

With Gratitude and CPS184

I have two cards cards to share today.  The first is a card I made for Janice's Color Challenge over on Stamp TV. I did a little masking with Signs of Autumn (similar to the great video tutorial Gina has on Stamp TV this week), added some Flower Soft.  Janice's Color Challenge was a real challenge for me: Brown, Turquoise, Pink and Orange and I was determined to embrace the orange/turquoise together, lol!  I colored the image with Copics and added some pearl bling to the sentiment.
This next card is for the CPS184.  I immediately thought of Grand Damask and Fanciful Tags for a CAS design.  I spritzed a bit of Tattered Angels Pinecone Glimmer Mist on the white space and paper pierced the top right corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Layers of Color Scrapbook Page

I have a special project to share today that I made with Layers of Color Clear Art Stamps and Art Stencils.  I enjoy scrapbooking, but often have a hard time deciding where to start.  I knew I wanted to scrap these pictures of our youngest when we are on vacation last fall up in Virginia.  Our older two are not as interested in play grounds and swing sets, but Jeb set his eyes on the metal ladder and knew immediately it was something he must conquer (he was also copying his older brother, Dean).

For this page, I started first with the Natural Flourish Art Stencil on opposite corners of a 8 1/2 x 11 page (my favorite to scrap).  I used Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress ink for the art stenciling and stamped some leaves from Nature Walk using Memento Desert Sand.  I created a journaling tab by cutting a piece of Natural Ivory cardstock and rounding the top corners.  However, not wanting it to slide underneath the center picture and get lost I added a damask image from Touch of Elegance stamped on dark
brown cardstock and added some sticky nail heads.
Recently while at my LSS I picked up some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Pinecone) and so spritzed some on my page (before adding the photos, lol!)  It gives it a nice shimmer/speckle look.

Here are two close up pictures of my page:

Sorry this post was so long...this was such a fun page to create that I wanted to tell you all about it. Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

CP81 ~ Faithful Florals

I made this for the Card Patterns 81 challenge.  I have been wanting to try Flower Soft on these flowers from Faithful Florals and this sketch worked for what I had in mind.  Obviously I was also in a polka dot mood so used the Seeing Spots CB folder and the dot background from Vintage Backgrounds.  I added a bit of ric rac and the felt flowers are just from my stash...  Do you see the new Labels 16...oh my, I just love this shape and know you will be seeing it a LOT!  I was recently at my LSS and managed to pick up Labels 15 and 16 and truly they are some of my favorite.  Such a fun shape!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

Grand Damask and a GKD Coupon!!!

I have two cards to share today using the beautiful Grand Damask and Fanciful Tags sentiment sets.
I used Chocolate Brown and Sweet Corn for both of these and "kissed" the worded font from Vintage Backgrounds onto the damask image.  I just love this look...  Here is another one I sent as a RAK to a dear STV friend:

Layers of Color: Flowering Gems

Today I have a card to share using the stamp set Flowering Gems from Layers of Color. These beautiful floral stamps just called my name and I couldn't wait to get them inky.  I am not real adept at coloring with Copics so did a bit of sponging on this creation.  First, I stamped the florals on Sweet Corn cardstock.  Then I cut around the petals towards the center of the flower and sponged the edges of each with Memento Rhubarb.  Each floral layer was then popped up on dimensional dots and finished with a pearl in the center.  I did similar with the leaves and stamped them onto Green Apple cardstock. To create the white and yellow background, I used the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil.  I love how easy the Art Stencils are to use and they clean up easy...  I just run water over mine and set it aside to dry (easy-peasy).

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

CP80

I made this for the Card Patterns challenge this week and used my dear friend Janice's FAB color challenge from Stamp TV (she is the new hostess this month).  You can find more details HERE.
I used the stamp set Vintage Backgrounds to create a worded background on both Kraft/ Lipstick Red and since fall is right around the corner got out a favorite set Autumn Beauty.  Love this sunflower!
I used Flower Soft Autumn in the center of the sunflower and colored the sunflower with Copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Grand Damask

Grand Damask and Fanciful Tags makes it easy to create an elegant card for any occasion. I was in a Webster's Pages kind of mood, but was torn with using the Victorian CB folder too...so why not combine the two :o)  I love how quick and easy a card can come together using this set.  I stamped the damask on Ivory and die cut it with Labels 9.

By the way...remember last post I mentioned a Paper Crafts submission call I had tried for?  Well, I got one in, yippeeee! :o)))  So very excited, it will be in the Stamp It magazine in January.  I really enjoy the challenge and take rejection well...  obviously, I get a LOT of practice, lol! hee-hee
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Layers of Color Sale...

I made this monochromatic card using Touch of Elegance from Layers of Color.  This set easily lends itself to creating your own patterned paper, and I even submitted a couple of cards using this set to a recent Papercrafts pub call (crossing fingers and toes that one gets picked up, lol!).

Layers of Color is having a sale!  Laura has several Clear Art Stamp sets and all of the Art Stencils on sale.  Thanks for stopping by and pray you have a wonderful day!

Layers of Color Guest Designer

I am so excited... finally I can share the news that I have been sitting on for over a month. I am guest designing for Layers of Color.  I was just tickled when Laura asked if I would be interested and jumped at the opportunity :o)   Nina introduced me to this precious stamp company and the group of ladies over on the Layers of Color SNR group have been such a blessing to me.  I have found some dear sisters in the Lord from all over the world, and so thankful for them.   Layers of Color has a beautiful assortment of Clear Art Stamps, Art Stencils....and they are a preferred stamp company with Spellbinders with more exciting news coming soon.  Can't wait for that!!

For this card, I used the stamp set Joyful Noise and the Art Stencil Bella Brocade.
I sponged ink over the art stencil to create this background on which I layered the Scripture verse and butterfly.  The edges were sponged the butterfly colored with Copics.

It has been a busy few days with some precious time with my parents as I turned another year older ...the hubby, kids and parents spoiled me rotten and we had the most fun together.  My sweet dh even told me, "Girl...you have been spoiled!" to which I can only reply...."I know!"  :oP They are all so sweet to me and I am most thankful...
I pray you have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by!
