Limelight Papercrafts Guest Designer for May!!!

Happy Day, Happy Day, I am excited to say.... I am the Limelight Papercrafts Guest Designer for May! Mandy is just the sweetest and I was so tickled when she asked me to be her Guest Designer. I enjoy shopping at Limelight Papercrafts....(she carries Webster's Pages, eeekss!!!), and a new found favorite Jillibean Soup.

I wanted to share a card I made using the April Unity Kit of the Month: Super Sweet & Stuck on You and the Limelight Sketch challenge for this week. This week in addition to the sketch, we are to work in some sparkle which I did by adding some Diamond Stickles to my stick pins. I also used some of the fabulous Cosmo Cricket Material Girl patterned paper. This was just so fun to make and the sentiment in this set is so cute and speaks to my heart :o) I hope you will play along with the Limelight sketch this week...you can find all of the details HERE and one lucky participant will receive a SPARKLE PACKAGE including a container of glitter, a bottle of Stickles glitter glue, and a package of Sparkle Fibers!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me share my happy news. I hope you have wonderful weekend!
Blessings,

SG17 ~ Webster's Pages

Here it is the last day of April (wow, this month flew by!!!) and time for another Sketch Girls sketch challenge! I made mine using some more fabulous Webster's Pages that I ordered from Limelight Papercrafts. I just love this paper and so thrilled Mandy is carrying it in her store. I used the stamp set Lovely Labels for my focal image. The White Crocheted ribbon was sponged with Groovy Guava ink and layered with a strip of Groovy Guava ribbon. All in all it was a very easy, quick and fun card to make :o)

Here is the sketch for this week:

For even more inspiration using the Sketch 17, be sure to check out the Sketch Girls: Annie, Julie, Alyssa, Harriet, Tiffany, Randee, Bonnie, Amber, Katie, Jessica, Sara, and our very creative Guest Designer Teresa Kline. I hope you will play along with us on this sketch and make sure you link your creation on the Sketch Girl blog. Our sponsor this week is Frenzified!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Vintage Backgrounds

I made this for the release party last week over at Stamp TV and can I say Nina has done it again? She is so very creative in her illustrations and Vintage Backgrounds is the perfect compliment to one's stamp collection. I used two different backgrounds from the set for this card: the polka dot (which is so way cool) and the word background (which just happens to be Scripture verses). Do you see how the label from Lovely Labels matches the polka dot background? Eeks, I love being "matchy~matchy," as Linda calls it, lol! I am a child of the 80's...and one day all of that is coming back! The sentiment is from the new Free with Three stamp set Masculine Messages. I stamped the Turquoise Sea cardstock flower pieces with the backgrounds as well and kept the colors to Kraft, Turquoise Sea and Black Oynx. Now I know this is a little bright and out of my normal color scheme...but it's growing on me!

It has been a busy few days in my household and stamping time is hard to come by. I do have some things I have been working on, but can't share quite yet :o) However... I have a fun announcement coming soon...I am so excited and can't wait to share!!! But mum is the word for now :o)

Inspired by Nina

Nina has a challenge on her blog to create a card based on her card as inspiration. I was inspired by the pink in hers and obviously *had* to use the doily image (from Nana's Needlework). I worked in one of the new border stamps from Vintage Backgrounds and sponged it with pink ink. I put a handmade flower in the center.... and yes, I said handmade flower....eeks, "I did it, I did it!" (obviously a lot of Dora the Explorer is watched in my house!) I made it out of tulle and you can find a link for the tutorial on Nina's blog. Very easy and fun too!

Busy day here today. Normal Monday running around and oldest son has a baseball game this evening so looking forward to that...the season goes by so fast! Have a great day!

2 Sketches 4 You #50: Oh Boy!

This is a second card I made for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week. I used Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend patterned paper (which I found at Limelight Papercrafts on sale!) and the new stamp set from Tami Mayberry Oh Boy! (which is oh, so CUTE!) I love the images in this set and the sentiments are so sweet.... This one is just precious and reminds me of sayings I told my kids when they were really little.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Card Patterns 60

I made this card for the Card Patterns sketch challenge this week and used the new set from Nina Brackett Vintage Backgrounds and the sentiment is from Inside and Out. I am such a fan of Nina's and this new set is right up my alley. It will be the perfect compliment for so many stamp sets and doesn't have the bulk of so many large background stamps. I used a Sharpie marker to mark where my circles were on the actual stamp so there were no worries with lining it up (perfect every time!). I will try to get a picture this weekend to show what I am talking about... Nina had originally shown it on her blog some time ago with her Vintage Border set.

I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,

2 Sketches 4 You #50

I made this for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week. I actually made two cards using this sketch, but can only share one today (check back tomorrow for one using the to be released set by Tami, Oh, Boy!...). This one uses the Color Challenge from STV by Tina and love the tan and aqua together. I used the Victoria CB embossing folder and brushed it with the Antique Linen distressing pad. The butterfly and sentiment are both from the Spring Mix STV Kit and the label is from Lovely Labels. The butterfly was stamped three times and layered for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Sporty Thanks

My son went to a Durham Bulls baseball game this past weekend had such a great time. It was "Autograph Night" and he got to meet all of the ball players and get their autographs. Obviously when he got home he was talking a mile a minute and was so excited because a few of them may well be called up to the Tampa Bay Rays very soon. **In July he goes to another game and gets to stand beside the 1st Baseman (his position in Little League) during the National Anthem. So exciting for a young ball player!

I wanted to make a thank you card for some friends who invited Dean to go and have this wonderful experience and used the Durham Bulls team colors as well as some baseball images from Sporty Accessories and one of the labels from Lovely Labels. I ended up adding the embossed panel afterwards because it needed "something" and that fit the bill!

I haven't stamped much at all this week. Just going in too many directions, but sure hope to work in a bit of time soon...(maybe today!) :o)
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: Lovely as a Rose

I made this for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge. The inspiration piece was a bouquet of beautiful roses and I immediately thought of making a 4 x 4 card and using the colors red, pink and green for my own floral bouquet. I used the floral image from Eclectic Summer and paper pieced the pot using Green Apple cardstock.

It was a fun little card to put together and hope the recipient will enjoy it and the other little goodies :o) Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Sketch Girls #16

Welcome to another Sketch Girls sketch challenge! I had to think on this one a bit to decide which direction to take my card... However, once I received some new Webster's Pages patterned paper I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I used the stamp set Nana's Needlework (just love this doily!!!) and sponged it to make it match up with the patterned paper. I added a Webster's Pages Sparkler to the center (they are so pretty IRL!!!)

And here is the sketch:

For more inspiration using the Sketch 16, be sure to check out the Sketch Girls: Annie, Julie, Alyssa, Harriet, Tiffany, Randee, Bonnie, Amber, Katie, Jessica, Sara, and our very creative Guest Designer Teresa Kline.

2 Sketches 4 You

I have to cards to share today that I made from the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge blog. The first one uses Kazan's sketch and the stamp set Fairy Tales. I can't seem to get enough of this adorable frog! I wanted to keep the card simple and used Kraft and Green Apple cardstock as well as some patterned paper from Garden Variety.

My second card....

...is for the Bonus sketch by Kay Sibley. I used Pure Luxury Ivory, Old Olive (out of Green Apple...boo-hoo), Webster's Pages patterned paper and a variety of stamps (Lovely Labels, Inspiration Mosaic and Elegant Flowers). I think the sentiment is so pretty and it fits perfectly inside of this label from Lovely Labels.

Personal note: Oldest son did GREAT at his scrimmage game last night! After his broken arm we have been concerned about arm strength but he managed to hit an in field homerun!!! Woo-hoo...mama gets so excited at games :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Webster's Pages

I made this for the Card Patterns sketch this week. I am a huge fan of ovals and this one drew me in big time! Aside from ovals another HUGE favorite of mine is Webster's Pages patterned paper. I found mine at Limelight Papercrafts and Mandy has the best service, I highly recommend her. For this card, I used the Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit as well as Ribbon Stripes (for the checkered pattern). The lace (which I had thought was from Walmart, is actually from my dear friend Nina over in Croatia, isn't it beautiful..sorry won't find it at Walmart, my oops!) and just lightly sponged with brown ink to darken it a bit. The flowers are actually paper flowers that I pressed into my ink pads, real easy and with white flowers you can create any color you want...gotta love that!

It is a busy day today. Our oldest son has his first baseball game tonight, it is a scrimmage game so it doesn't count, but so looking forward to seeing him play ball again! I love the spring for many reasons and a huge one is Little League.
Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,

Happy Spring Card Kit Hop

Jessica has designed another fabulous Card Kit to go with Happy Spring.
I made three cards using what came in the actual card kit. Jessica has the measurements for everything included in the kit. For this set of cards, I branched out and did my own thing and was shocked with all of the leftover scraps that I can use on other projects.

Love paper piecing the hat and gloves, just so very springy!

This is a very simple design. And finally my favorite card I made using this kit....

I love this water scene! I added some stickles glitter glue as well as some liquid embossing to the water pump. I am going to keep this short since I know you have some hopping to do :o)

Several designers are joining together to share even more samples for the Happy Spring stamp set. Please visit the following blogs for their projects:
The free card kit will be available with every purchase of the Happy Spring stamp set until Thursday, April 22nd at 10pm when the new card kit stamp set is released! Be sure to take advantage of the freebie while it's available!

Also, remember to enter your project for GinaK's Illustrator Challenge by Monday April 12th at 8pm! We can't wait to see who the next Guest designer will be for April's release!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Blessings,

GKD Illustrator Blog Hop

I am so excited about the post tonight. It has been a thrill being Guest Designer for Gina K. Designs this past month and it really was a dream come true! I am so excited to see who the next Guest Designer will be....it could be YOU! (more info. on that at the end of this post...)

The inspiration for this card came from a favorite childhood book: Whose Mouse Are You by Robert Kraus. The book was obviously written in the 1970's so I used Pumpkin Spice, Moonlit Fog, and Smoky Slate cardstock as well as some Basic Grey Ambrosia patterned paper. The little mouse stamp from the Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit was fit my favorite childhood book perfectly and I love that he is holding a special sign for his mother :o) Ahhhhh...

I remember my parents reading Whose Mouse Are You? to me when I was very young. It is a delightful book that teaches the value of family...a real treat for any young child!

To keep the inspiration going, check out these GinaK Designer's joining in on the hop tonight:
Thanks so much for stopping by and can't wait to see what you create!

Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit

I made this using some of the stamps from the fabulous Spring Mix STV Kit. I just love Chocolate Kiss and about anything, but my goodness doesn't it pop with red! The new STV kit has some wonderful images and even an oval and circle for framing (which I think work perfectly with the Big Scallop Ovals, wink-wink!!) I don't have the regular circle Nesties yet, so this works perfectly (so do I really *need* them, hhhhhmmmm).

I hope you are having a great week! My kids have been on Easter Break so we are enjoying the unscheduled time :o)

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Right Next Door or....

I recently received some beautiful lace from a dear friend and was itching to use some on a card. However, I didn't want to waste even an inch so carefully measured before I snipped... you know what I mean, LOL! The patterned paper is from Daisy D's which I recently received from a trade and it has a beautiful pattern and thickness to it, some real quality paper. I used three different stamp sets for this card: Lovely Labels, Friends and the Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit. The butterfly was stamped twice and popped up on a glue dot so its wings could flutter... if he were real of course, hee-hee.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have wonderful day!

Happy Birthday

I made this for Nina's Anniversary Blog Challenge. I wanted to use come more of the Webster's Pages and thought stamping the doily (from Nana's Needlework) onto the grid might work. :o) I *hated* to take a chance on this pretty paper... I just squinted my eyes, placed the inked stamp on the paper, and hoped for the best....you know what I am talking about?? Sure you do :o) Well, it worked and I didn't manage to smudge it until right before I got ready to take a picture so that required some extra sponging to cover it up, LOL!

I pray you have wonderful weekend and know we have much to be thankful for as we celebrate our risen Lord. All that I am is because of Him and the sacrifice He made for me (and for you!)
Blessings,

CCS Sketch Challenge and RAK

Creative Clear Stamps has a brand new Design Team and they are smokin' hot already!!! Laura kicked off the first of their sketch challenges this week on the CCS blog: A Fairy Creative Place that I just had to try... (in fact, if you want to play along you have until Saturday).

I made this using the Sentiment Single Enjoy the Attention and some Fancy Pants patterned paper, The Daily Grind. I loved the four squares behind the focal image and turned my squares into Labels 9 dies... I added a bit of sparkle to this by stamping the circles from Friendship with Versamark and using Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

I also have a beautiful card to share that I received from a dear stamping friend in Croatia....

I received this beautiful card and some assorted ribbons and lace from Nina Brackett :o) Isn't this beautiful!! It has been a blessing getting to know her via blogging and STV and I pray one day we can meet face to face. Honestly, the friendships made via stamping have been such a blessing to me and I treasure each of you!
Blessings,
