Fall~Winter Catalog

The new Fall~Winter Stampin' Up! catalog arrived yesterday...there are so many wonderful things! I have probably only gone through it about 5 times and need to start making my wishlist. I am excited about purchasing various things out of it throughout the next six months. (I say six months because SU will have ANOTHER new catalog in January since they are going to 2 catalogs a year)
There are some really pretty stamp sets with a wide variety of styles so there is really something for everyone. ;o) I know my customers will be very excited about what is available and the price increase wasn't too much at all. There are quite a few of the mini catalog sets that made it into this catalog...but Like it a Latte and Love Matters isn't in this one so hopefully they will make it into the next catalog. They are some favorites!

The above is a card I made for another swap I am in. I decided to use the new stamp set Zoofari and basically make a pink panther. It uses the SU colors Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black and the new In Color Purely Pomegranate. Have a great day!

Wondeful

It has been a full week and I haven't stamped very much at all. I think this afternoon I may stamp while I wait for my brand new 2007-2008 Stampin' Up! catalogs to be delivered! It will be exciting to see all of the new stamps, accessories, etc. The above card is one I did a few weeks ago for a color challenge on SCS. Ruby Red, Certainly Celery and Elegant Eggplant are not colors I would ordinarily put together, but it does work! I got the little chickadee stamp for a the best stamp store called the Enchanted Cottage outside of Winston-Salem, NC. Look it up on the web, I know you won't be disappointed. www.EnchantedCottageNC.com
Have a great day!

Year After Year

I made this card for an upcoming swap I am participating in. It uses the new In Color Groovy Guava. I really didn't think I would like this color very much, but I do! I goes well with Bashful Blue and Barely Banana. I made the scalloped edge using a corner rounder punch (simply take the guard off and start in the center of the strip of paper in order to have your scallops fairly even on both ends).

I recently needed to make a sympathy card and wanted to use the stamp set Baroque Motifs. (I was just telling a friend that this is becoming my favorite stamp set...It find it very versatile) I stamped the flourish in Always Artichoke Craft Ink and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. It really adds nice dimension.

Probably won't be stamping much until tomorrow night...I have a workshop coming up that I really need to prepare for and time is quickly going by! Yikes ;o))

Zoofari

This is one of the cards I made for a swap I am in...thankfully I got all three designs made and will mail them off on Monday. I signed up for three spots and I may have been a little over zealous... Either way, they are completed and I am looking forward to seeing all of the neat samples from everyone. This is a fun set to use and it will be wonderful for making party invitations.

Baroque Motifs

Baroque Motifs is new stamp set that will be available starting in July from Stampin' Up! and it has so many possibilities to make wonderful cards! It is a very easy stamp set to use, no coloring required. I know some people that shy away from the actual coloring techniques and prefer to basically stamp and go ...and this set it perfect for that. This card uses the new In Color cardstock which is called River Rock. I used Old Olive for the base of the card and added the Brocade Background paper. I am thinking this stamp set, the designer paper and a couple of colors of coordinating cardstock (like Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Very Vanilla) and stamp pads of the same color and you could make a pile of cards!

For this card I used the new In Colors Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate.
Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to use the Zoofari stamp set and will share some samples....until then, Happy Stampin'!

Finally Back

Well, it turned out I was sicker than I thought....I ended up having to go to the doctor on Saturday and he said I had both strep throat and a sinus infection. (I guess it is more convenient to get them at the same time....not recommended though!) Absolutely no fun and I had a whole box of new SU products to try and absolutely *zero* energy to do so. Shocking, I know. :o) Well, I am feeling so much better now and have finally started stamping again! I love the new set Baroque Motif. I made this card for the color challenge on SCS today. Well, I am off to make some more cards with my new stamps!

New Stampin' Up! products!!!

Sorry it has been quiet around here... I have been sick with a nasty cold. I feel better than yesterday, still froggy sounding, but getting better.

On to better news....

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator we get the amazing opportunity to preorder stamp sets, cardstock, ink, and other accessories. It was so hard to narrow things down, but this is what I chose. Stamp sets: Baroque Motifs, Holidays and Wishes, Zoofari, Hugs and Wishes and Year After Year. I also ordered the new colors: Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Groovy Guava and Purely Pomegranate. I am looking forward to stamping tomorrow, my house is clean and I can "stamp" part of "the day away"!

This is a card I did for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS this past Sunday. I used Daisy D's Paisley Bloom scrapbook paper for the background and it really looks like fabric. I used Rose Red as the card base. The flower I later did with Dimensional Glaze and it really gave it a nice shiny look. (I did that after I took the picture).

I ordered my preview items from Stampin' Up! last Friday and they are due to arrive on this Friday. ;o)) New stamp sets, cardstock and inks! I have quite a few swaps to get done so I will be busy stamping when I can this weekend.

Hope

Here is a card I made for the Sketch Challenge on Wednesday. I chose the colors based on the strip of Basic Grey scrapbook paper that I wanted to use. I really like these colors together and will definitely use this color combination again.

The last few days have been quite busy and I haven't gotten much stamping done. In fact, I really need to simply clean my stamp area because it is in chaos right now ;o))
